~~~~~~~~~~
This is a garden level unit beneath our home. The windows allow a great amount of light so you feel more above ground than not! The home is supplied with many things you need to make your stay feel comfortable. You will have your own private entrance on the south side of the home. While we do live in the unit above with two small animals, we do everything to make sure your stay is not disrupted by noise. This is not a *party rental. We live in the upper portion of the duplex and the neighbor is quiet. This is the perfect rental for a cozy & quiet stay on a gorgeous park. The home has central air to stay cool from the summer heat.
Steps to Harvard Gulch Golf Course, Harvard Gulch pool, and Harvard Gulch Rec Center.
If you are visiting with children we have a baby gate, high chair, and play pin available.
Blocks away from a few of our favorite restaurants:
*Lil Coffea Bar
*Lucilles Creole Cafe
*Roaming Buffalo
*Little India
*Denver Beer and Co
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING: We live in the upper portion of this duplex home & you will hear us on occasion…
1.) We have a newborn child that will cry on occasion. You may hear her cry so please keep this in mind when booking.
2.) We have a small poodle mix that lives upstairs. She’s a therapy dog and is quiet with the occasional bark when she sees a squirrel.
3.) We also have a cat that enjoys time outside, but they do not go into unit.
4.) This is NOT a “party home”. We live in a quiet neighborhood. This home is for guests looking for a quiet retreat only.
I wanted to stay in the Denver University/Harvard Gulch area for sentimental reasons and really lucked out finding this listing. Clean, cozy, comfortable, convenient to shops and restaurants- this little gem has it all. Kristen, our host, could not have been nicer or more accommodating to our schedule and our needs. I look forward to returning to stay here again. I only wish I could give it a 10-star review!
Perfect homey super clean property in an excellent neighborhood. Loved being able to eat at neighborhood restaurants and the park across from the rental was perfect for morning and evening walks. We were in town for a convention, it was so nice to be in a quiet neighborhood instead of downtown. Great host, quick to respond. Would stay again.
When I booked this stay I thought I would be staying in an above ground duplex house but unfortunately in this instance the duplex meant basement. Maybe it’s that we don’t have too many basements where we live but this was not what I had in mind. The place was clean and had most of everything we needed. But for me it was a real downer to not be able to look out of the windows and see anything but the ground. The host did try to warn me in that “this house isn’t for everyone” and I know now it wasn’t for me.
Property was clean and the location was great. Had quick access to food, a park, pool, and stores without a car. Would definitely recommend to anyone taking a trip and needing a place adjacent to downtown!
Denver, Colorado
This property and our visit to Denver was a 10 out of 10.
The location of the home was perfect! It was walking distance to many great restaurants, bars and shops. It was also a great location when heading out to see the sights Colorado has to offer, like Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Red Rocks and Winter Park. After a long day sight seeing or seeing a show at Red Rocks, the home was a wonderful, quiet place to relax at the end of a long day. I would highly recommend staying here. Kristen is an excellent host!
Such a comfortable place to stay, almost like being home. It was themed nicely, comfortable surroundings, tasteful decorating, and roomy to boot. We visited family, and felt very comfortable in this space. The proximity of the park is a plus too. We would return on a trip back to Denver.
We had both business and leisure planned and this was perfect location. Safe neighborhood close to parks and easy to get to places we wanted to explore. We drove twice to the Denver Art Museum only 20 min from the house.
We drove to Evans light rail station 5 min from house and took light rail to Convention Center Station and walked to Larimer Square and the Union Station. Lots of light in this nicely updated basement apartment with a nice parking space and outdoor patio set to use for coffee in am or evenings after a stroll in park across street. Beds are very nice, kitchen well appointed. We had extreme weather 90 degrees and the central house air conditioning keeps basement almost too cool but it is nice to have the cool retreat after a hot day at the Botanical Gardens. Denver has extreme weather so plan ahead. We also had a snow storm!!! The heat kicked in and we were very cozy in this modern beautiful basement.
Note: The Owner posts a sign at top of stairs that they would like shoes off as you enter as there is VERY nice and clean carpet in unit. but there is no bench or place to store shoes and these are carpeted stairs that would be slick in socks for guests. For anyone with mobility issues the stairs down into and out of unit would be a problem especially in socks. Our only issue was that there is nowhere to sit or store shoes at top of stairs so if we were carrying in trips of groceries or our luggage we just took them off in kitchen at bottom of the stairs, that was the best we could do! I would book this lovely spot again super clean and classy!
FYI: You do on occasion hear those in house walking around in upstairs but that is expected if renting a basement unit and we are also early risers so did not bother us a bit and evenings were very quiet. We never met our host.
