Quiet place to sleep. Was an easy in and out and afforded a pleasant morning walk. Access to washer/dryer was a nice bonus. Truly only slept there so can't vouch for other amenities

Nice 1 bedroom with loft. Very comfortable for our family of 5 over the Christmas Holiday. Had all the equipment we needed. Very close to downtown Petaluma and right off the 101 Freeway. Two minor things keep this from being perfect 5. Parking lot is extremely dark and desperately needs some lighting, perhaps a flood light on a motion sensor. Loft bed is very squeaky, to the point that some of my family members had issues sleeping. Overall, a very cool place to stay and I highly recommend.

The is one of maybe four apartments that have been built inside what was probably a warehouse. The location is in a quiet industrial area about a mile south of the center of Petaluma. Parking is very convenient. The layout and finishes of the apartment we rented were excellent. The kitchen and dining area worked well. The artwork and furnishings were interesting! The owner was very responsive to the one problem (heating) we encountered, We recommend this apartment highly and are likely to return.

I'll start with the positives. The property did offer what was listed, could sleep 5 with ease, one bathroom, and a stocked kitchen. The owner was responsive to my request for an early check in. The check in process was easy. It was close to downtown Petaluma. Some of the furniture was different from the pictures in the listing, but was in decent shape.
What you don't see in the listing is that there is a big sky light. So, although it sleeps 5, 3/5 would be rising with the sun. The bed in the loft was very squeaky, with just my very petite 6 year old on it.
The walls were incredibly thin. We heard people having conversations next door, as well as music playing. Our first morning I was woken up at 5:00 AM by someone's alarm going off next door.
The property seemed pretty clean upon first arriving. But once we got to taking showers, we noticed that there was dirt/dust along the edges of the shower stall that we didn't notice until we ran the water. There was quite a bit of hair on the shelf. There was one Oxi Clean bottle and it was nearly empty. There was a bottle of bleach, but no bucket, gloves, or spray bottle to use it with.
From day 1, we noticed the toilet wasn't flushing properly, but made it work with the decorative like plunger. On the 4th plunging event, we could not get the toilet to unplug. I messaged the owner and it took him several hours to get back to us. When he did respond, he said that the plunger we had was likely not good enough, and that his cleaner would come out and arrive in 20 minutes. It took well over an hour for her to arrive. (I sent my family ahead to me to a family gathering, then took an Uber there). All she did was use a sturdier plunger to solve the problem. She said that the plumbing in the entire building had been an ongoing problem. Between her saying that and the owner saying that the plunger was probably not strong enough it felt like the owner knew of an existing problem.
This was located in what was a warehouse like area. At night the parking lot did not have any lighting. The only light came from the porch lights of the 2 or 3 rental units on that side of the building. One night, someone tried to open our door. After I forcefully yelled at the person who was trying to get in. It sounded like it was a renter next door, but the lack of light and general area made the situation feel a lot worse than it probably was.
The dishwasher was old and really loud. The ice dispenser didn't work.

Hidden Sonoma County gem
From the exterior of the industrial warehouse in which this is located, you would never guess that a very stylish loft apartment was inside. Nonetheless, there it is. With a queen bed downstairs and another in the loft, this could easily accommodate four guests. The large bathroom with an open shower is a nice amenity as well. The loft area gets a bit warm in summer weather, and it took some figuring out of the climate control system, but it was fine once we had it dialed in.
The owner is extremely responsive and answered all of our questions promptly.

We loved it!
We had a great time at this property. It was the perfect size for our girls week in Napa. It was a bit of a drive to Napa wineries, but we knew that going in. Meticulously maintained and communication was excellent. We loved it and highly recommend it!

A Couple Things Need Attention Before this Property Can Be Great.
Overall, we enjoyed the space. My three friends and I went for a birthday trip, and the space was big enough that well all felt comfortable.
The space was clean, although there were a couple of signs from the previous tenant, especially in the bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked, we had the dishes we needed, but there was no sponge in the kitchen, and the ice machine wasn't working. We were also a bit frustrated because the listing said it would accommodate 5, there were 4 of us in my party, and only 3 towels, and one extra blanket. There is a washing machine, so we could wash our own towels, but not if we all wanted to shower in the morning, which we couldn't do because of the towel issue.
The space was cool and trendy, I especially liked the loft and the bed was very comfy, but the walls were EXTREMELY thin, and we could hear the tenants on both sides of us (one side was playing music, and the other sneezed a lot).
The check-in process was easy, it's a door lock with a code, but I didn't receive any of the check-in information until I messaged the owner for it. Also, the space is at the back of a parking lot, and the listing would benefit from a description of what to expect when you pull in and how to find the building because we drove around for a bit trying to figure it out. Also, the Wifi was not listed, there was no information about places near the space, or suggested restaurants. When I messaged the owner for the second time, he gave me the Wifi, but it didn't work. At that point I didn't want to ask the owner again, so we lived without the internet, which was inconvient.
There were also pieces of art and furniture that had price tags on them like they were for sale, which was odd, and made us nervous as they were quite expensive.
Overall, this space has the opportunity to be really awesome, but it needs a little bit of attention in terms of check-in and amenities. The location is great, close to the downtown area. If the issues above are fixed, this would definitely be a place I recommend staying.

Great space and location
100% recommend this VRBO. Myself and three girlfriends stayed here for a wine country trip and it was perfect. You are walking distance to downtown and we felt very safe the whole time. It's a quick 25 minute drive, a beautiful drive at that, to Sonoma. Will definitely book again.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this Petaluma loft. The exterior is unassuming, in a sort of industrial area near downtown Petaluma, sharing the same building space as a gym and two other apartments. You enter with a door code, and enter into the living space, which has the dining area / kitchen closest to the door. Just beyond is the small living area. There's a loft above the living area, and a bathroom, hall closet, W+D, and bedroom to the right of the living area. The entire space was very comfortable for our family of four. Our youngest (12 yo boy) even slept on the deep-seated, super-comfy couch, since our kids didn't want to share a bed. The fully stocked kitchen was clean, and well functioning. Bathroom was large and open. There was one drawer in the sink vanity not working well. But otherwise, plenty of storage space for the four of us. Beds and linens were very clean and comfortable, albeit a bit small. Both of the beds seemed to be smaller than a queen, but were still comfortable. The entire place was decorated impeccably. We felt like we were in a trendy downtown boutique hotel, rather than an apartment. Furthermore, it seemed to be a newly renovated space, so everything felt clean and new, even if there were still some minor evidence of the renovation. The location was awesome: just mins drive from port / beer / wine tasting, downtown restaurants, shops. We were there for our kids' swim meet, and getting there was super convenient as well. A couple of things to note:1) This unit is sandwiched in between two other residential units in this building. You could definitely hear your neighbors: talking, playing music, etc. There was one night that was very noticeable to me. but none of my other family members. During the day, you could definitely hear the music, which wouldn't be an issue if you're out or if you happen to enjoy the music!2) The bed in the loft was constantly making a creaking noise, which sounded almost like water dripping. It was just a tad annoying.Overall, our stay was very comfortable, functional, and enjoyable. Frank, our host, was responsive by text. We would definitely stay here again.
