About this house rental
Summerland is a picturesque beach community located next door to Montecito, polo fields on the other side, and five miles south of Santa Barbara. The quaint seaside town offers wonderful antiquing, local eateries, a variety of shops, which are a 5-minute walk from the house, while the sand is a mere 10 minute walk.
Within minutes north on the freeway, are the wide beaches and harbor of Santa Barbara with a bounty of recreational opportunities: boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking, hiking trails, adventure trips to the Channel Islands, and fine dining. A mere thirty-five minutes north is the magnificent wine and horse country of the Santa Ynez Valley. And heading south it’s only an hour and a half by freeway or train to Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, professional sports teams, museums, Universal Studios and so much more.
Located on the Pacific Ocean, Summerland is flanked east and west by beaches. Our own Summerland Beach (ten minute walk from the house); Padaro Beach (home to many celebrities); Carpenteria Beach (judged world’s safest beach); Rincon Beach (world-class surf break); Montecito’s tony Miramar and Butterfly Beaches; and Santa Barbara’s East Beach (beach volleyball) and Ledbetter Beaches.
For wine tasting, Summerland village presents the Summerland Winery; and for dining the famous Nugget saloon, a favorite watering hole; and the Summerland Beach Café, a popular breakfast and lunch spot. A couple recent additions to our neighborhood are the home goods shop called the Well and the upscale shop and hot coffee and lunch spot of Field and Fort. Not too distant is Montecito’s Coast Village Road.
The town of Summerland offers something for everyone; whether you prefer to hike/bike the well-groomed trails and back roads, surf the world famous Rincon, lay on the quiet beaches, sip a glass of wine at the Summerland Winery, or stay at home and watch the ocean - this is the place for you.

This was our first time in Summerland but we have been to Santa Barbara and Montecito several times. Summerland is a delightful small town just east of Montecito but still just a short 5-10 minute drive to Santa Barbara. There is a great little cafe with very good food in walking distance to the house. There is also great access to hiking and exploring from this location. The streets remind us of San Fransisco as they are steep and rolling in the foothills. The other homes around Pam's are charming and it is a great neighborhood to take a walk. The house itself was perfect in every way and super functional for our family. The style of the decor/furniture is great and the beds and the furniture are very comfortable. The hot tub is great and perched with an ocean view. The outside is also charming with great landscaping and comfortable outdoor furniture. This home is not your typical rental home and definitely has the feel of a charming personal second home. I cannot think of anything we did not like.
Perry was great and met us at the house and showed us everything and also gave us some great restaurant recommendations. This is a five star property for sure! Thanks Pam for everything :)
