Cosy, warm, comfortable cottage.
The bedrooms were nice, no need to fight over the best one!
The beds were comfortable and allowed us a good night's sleep.
The setting was peaceful, the gardens are lovely.
The fireplace was easy to operate, provisions such as logs, kindling, matches were provided.
Useful welcome tray tea, coffee, biscuits, etc.
Spare garbage bags, some laundry detergent, t- towels, toilet rolls to get you through the first days.
The freestanding bath.
Supply of towels & a beach towel was ample.
Washing machine was a bonus.
Off road parking for 2 vehicles.
The lock box for the key is convenient &
communication via email/text for those travelling from overseas.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The upstairs shower thermostate did not regulate the temperature, the water was very hot, which I could just about use as I am familiar with hot water!
The pot holes on the private road leading to the property, however, I think this is an issue for the farmer/golf club to repair as they seem to use the road mostly.
The property was cleaned well, apart from one small area; the upstairs shower door sliders needed attention.

Absolutely perfect location for exploring the New Forest. Liz and Nigel were great hosts and a beautiful welcome gift was really thoughtful addition. The property was extremely comfortable and all appliances provided. All beds were clean and comfortable. We stayed with our Son, his partner and our 22 month granddaughter who adored the fairy garden and Colleen the horse who regularly popped her head over the fence. An absolutely wonderful holiday was had by us all.
Nothing at all however is worth mentioning that the road leading up to the property has a few potholes. This was at the time of our stay in 2023.

Large well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds.
Stairs were very steep for my elderly parents and road to property in need of some resurfacing (terrible potholes)

Apart from us having to rewash the plates and glasses (stuck on food) before we could use them, the rest of the house was immaculately clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower delivered a good amount of water. There were lots of seating options in the garden and the fairy garden was a nice touch.
As soon as we entered the property, we were greeted with notes saying the hosts only allow dogs in the kitchen and the adjoining bathroom. We rent holiday homes so that we can enjoy spending time with our dog so this house did not work at all for us. We spoke to Quay Holidays who were unaware of this rule. There were numerous notices telling us what we could and couldn't do so it felt more like we were in someone's home rather than a property that we had paid to rent.
My issue is with the owners not telling people in advance about dogs having to stay in the kitchen, not the rules they choose to impose in their property.
Dogs owners: dogs have to be supervised in the garden, and between March and July dogs have to be kept on leads on walks around the property due to nesting birds.

We loved the rural location and the peace we can’t get as living in central London.
It was raining but my children still enjoyed the garden and watching the horses around.
The rooms were lovely with comfy beds, large bath, lots of character across the properly.
We loved the fire place while watching the Chronicles of Narnia over three days, enjoying the big screen and great sound.

A very beautiful and cosy cottage..
Little notes and personal touches across the cottage made us feel welcome.

The cottage was simply stunning, the photos don’t do justice enough. We loved every little detail and had an amazing time.

Very homely and lots of lovely finishing touches, wood burner, trinkets, small hamper on arrival, throw blankets, quality and beautifully furnished. Just lovely

Comfortable and spacious - particularly loved the wood burner and underfloor heating in the bathroom. Easy access to a variety of amenities and lovely places to enjoy.
Not a big fan of the plastic plants decorating the outside of the house and felt that there were possibly too many ornaments, eg, on bathroom pegs. The welcome pack could have been a bit more authentic, but none of these aspects affected our enjoyment. There was initially a bit of a doggy smell downstairs but appreciate other guests will have brought their pets. The road leading to the property was heavily laden with potholes which wasn't great but a small price to pay for a private wooded location.

Fern cottage is a gorgeous cottage. It was clean and had lovely home touches, thoroughly enjoyed the croissants and mini wine!
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side and we stayed at the cottage most of the time, which was very comfortable.
My daughter loved seeing the horse and fairy garden in the garden.
The logs were great and had plenty of log fires!
Definitely go back !
