About this house rental

Four Priory Road is a pretty, tucked away cottage in the heart of Chichester city centre. The cottage is filled with attractive modern furnishings whilst still retaining its comfortable cottage feel.

Hidden from the bustle of the city you will be just a stone's throw from the main high street. The town offers excellent shopping with interesting boutiques and antique shops together with the main high street shopping you would expect in a larger town. There is a good mix of quirky restaurants and cafes of a high quality and many pubs and bars you can enjoy.

Chichester Cathedral is only minutes away on West Street. You can browse the cathedral and grounds including the beautifully maintained Bishop Gardens.

Chichester train station is within easy walking distance with a direct line to London Victoria running regularly throughout the day. Goodwood also runs a bus direct from the station to Festival of Speed and Revival Festival. Goodwood itself is only 5 – 10 minutes by car if driving.

Walking through the front door into a cosy seating area and through to the kitchen/ dining area with everything you will need to self-cater for your stay. Down a small step you will find the sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating for guests, smart TV & Alexa to enjoy during your stay. Four Priory has a beautiful courtyard garden; we are very proud of this as it's not often you find a garden in a home within the city walls.

The garden can be access via bi fold doors from the dining room or french doors in the living room. The cottage garden boasts two seating areas and beautiful raised flowers beds giving the quintessential English garden feel. The garden is dotted with solar lights so you can sit outside on a warm evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the ambience. The owner also provides a picnic hamper and brollies should you like to take a picnic to Priory Park just across the road.

Upstairs there are two beautifully furnished double bedrooms (one includes a safe for personal items) and a bathroom with free standing bath and separate shower cubicle. Make sure to stop and browse the books at the top of the stairs. The hosts have sourced many local books which give you information about the area and local attractions. Our personal favourite is the ghost tour spots around Chichester! Its fun to read through and spot the locations as you travel around the city.

Four Priory has a separate WC on the ground floor.

There is parking available for one car at the pay and display car park but is free and is within easy walking distance (guests need to provide us with registration plate details at the time of booking for this to be arranged).

No children under 12 years old.

My parents and I had a wonderful stay at 4 Priory Road, a beautifully renovated cottage in the middle of Chichester town. We were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather, so the garden came in handy too! The cottage truly felt like a home away from home - with everything we needed and more! Henry Adams was very responsive, and the owners of the cottage were there to meet us in person and show us around which was a lovely touch. Will definitely be back!

Very comfortable and well appointed cottage in an excellent quiet location close to the city centre. Only concern was the small step down from the hall into the living area which was not highlighted and I slipped and fell twice during my stay.

This was such a great place to stay. The owners have made it a very welcoming home, and their attention to detail means you have all the little things that you need - from local information to spare toilet rolls, a clothes horse and even a picnic basket! I also appreciated the welcome wine and chocolate Central Chichester is not an easy area to find a long-term park, so having an arrangement with a local car park means there’s a free place to leave your car every day that’s only five minutes away from the house. It’s comfortable and cosy in cold and wet weather, and a short walk from pretty much anywhere in the centre of town. Loved it here - would stay again in a heartbeat.

Beautifully maintained house, just a few hundred yards from the Cathedral. Not the kindest of weather, and this was why Four Priory Road was so good for us ( we are 60+ & no transport). Great very quiet location ( save the Cathedral bells), but literally just 100 yards from one of Chichester's most highly recommended pub. It was no exageration to say that Four Priory Road has everything anyone would need for a syay in this very attractive, clean, and spacious house, which is just off the road around the park. We would recommend this house very highly to anyone, in fact we think that this has definately been the best rental we have ever been in ( out of 14 in the last 10 yearsin this country). Lovely city, even better house.

House as described. Carefully renovated & imaginatively laid out. Clean, comfortable, spacious - lots of chilling space inside plus outdoor space when weather permits. Quiet - no traffic noise. Centrally located, short walk from the cathedral and city centre. Kitchen has items often missing from other rentals: cafetiere, milk jug, egg cups, separate chopping boards for meat, veg, bread. One of the best places we have stayed.

Lovely clean and safe cottage. Sunshine in the garden all day. Lots of nice extra touches. Location ideal for city centre. Ideal for touring places such as; Wittering, Selsey, Bognor, Littlehampton, Worthing, Portsmouth etc. No parking on site but free parking seven minutes in public car park no hassle.

This is such a thoughtful renovation with a photo album left in the sitting room showing each stage of the building work. A lovely cottage with many small seated areas inside and a pretty garden too. Someone obviously cares about their guests. An extremely clean property and everything provided for your stay - even a picnic basket! Parking on-site is not available, this is the only drawback. However there is a nearby car park included in the price of the cottage.
