Condo was awful, left early because of conditions. There are numerous maintenance problems: carpet in bedroom soaked from portable air conditioner, sliding doors falling off or not able to open or different to open. Sink has crack with tape and can’t be used and has been that way for years. Furniture is very dated and has lost their support. Decks were dirty and windows very dirty. I feel like there maybe mold in bedroom with soaked carpet because of ongoing flooding. VRBO needs to take this unit off the site, I don’t feel comfortable using them anymore

As soon as we walked through the door we noticed an odor, it smelled of wet dog. But no dogs allowed so who knows what it was. The A/C units are loud. One is a portable unit and the other is the window type unit. The floor mats in the kitchen and bathrooms look like they haven't been cleaned all year. The crack in the sink is still there from what I read of another post. All the patios for the unit had dead mayflies all over. Why wouldn't the person responsible for cleaning sweep them up? Also you can hear conversations of people in the parking lot and upstairs as we were trying to sleep. The place is not quiet at all.
So what I've learned from my 1st VRBO trip is it will be my last. Also Mike will respond to matters hours if not days later

This was my family’s 4th stay at The Shores and again, we enjoyed our stay.

Very nice complex with a common patio where we watched the outstanding total eclipse with all our new best friends.

Mike responded to every question promptly. Did not get to use pool and hot tub due to bad weather but both looked very nice.

Loved the grounds. The pool was amazing. Would recommend a better bed in the spare bedroom.

The condo was outstanding, great location, quiet, outstanding humidity, other tenants and residents were great to talk to. Outstanding pool, great patio area. Worth twice what we paid.

We walked into the kitchen. The sink had a crack in it with a piece of tape over it. A note on the back splash telling us not to use the sink.
Moved the toaster to get a cutting board out from underneath. Crumbs and 2 bugs came out of the toaster.
Living room furniture has a lot to be desired. There is two wicker chairs. No support in the middle of the chair. Felt like you were sitting on a toilet seat. The sofa had a bad sag in the middle.

This condo is in a very convenient location. It was clean and had a great view. It was fully stocked with anything you might need to cook a meal and enough towels. There was a heated pool and fire pit area that were really fun bonuses. You could put your feet in the lake at the beach area.

Just OK
I’ll start with the things we liked about this property. The location and grounds were great and made the trip more enjoyable. However, for what we paid we were disappointed in the condo itself. It looks nicer in the listing and is extremely dated with furniture that has to be decades old, some even has holes in it. It was visibly clean, but really needs a deep clean (this is not a reflection of housekeeping). Our toddler’s feet were black within an hour of arriving on our first day. The biggest issue has been mentioned in recent reviews that we did not see until after we had booked the property. There is no central air, just a window AC in each bedroom and they cannot keep up with the summer heat. The living room was almost always hot, while the bedrooms were cooler. Even more concerning, our kids had to sleep in the second bedroom and the door could not even be locked because the AC was built into part of the doorframe. Had we realized all of this, we would have never paid what we did to rent this property. We really enjoyed the area and will probably be back, just not to this condo.

Ohio Trip - The Shores
A little tired looking - air-conditioning was lacking in consistency - front bedroom either too hot or too cold and second bedroom had to keep low so the rest of the condo stayed cool - and bathrooms were tired and old. It was an ok place. Curtains and blinds were lacking. Front room didn't go down all the way and in the second bedroom - they looked old and wrinkled. overall it was ok - but not the level we were expecting.

2 BR better than 2 Hotel Rooms
Clean property. Well maintained. We travelled with another couple and love to play card games in the evenings. 2 bed/2 bath condo style with kitchen, dining, and living room is far better than playing on a table in hotel breakfast area.

Very clean property. Everything worked as it should.

Issues
We were very unhappy with the fact the shower in the master bath did not work and we only that the small shower that was extremely tight it was difficult to take a shower. The second bedroom was unusable and had to sleep on the couch. Extremely mad with the price that we paid that someone had to sleep on the couch. You were unable to close the slider do to the a/c having to be jerry rid to put in place. Leaving a gap so all night you heard the traffic, motorcycles, partiers, trains and partiers.

Quick spontaneous weekend reunion w adult children
We traveled from Massachusetts to meet our son attending Purdue University for a long weekend over Fall Break. We spent more time at Cedar Point than we did in the condo unfortunately. The condo complex and location was much nicer than we expected and I wish we had more time to enjoy the amenities. Would love to come back again now that we know.

Time away
Everything was like the pictures, plenty of space in the condo. Close to everything. I wish there would have been a washer and dryer or a place on site to do laundry, all and all a great place to stay

Perfect location on the lake!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Shores! Great location on Lake Erie and super close to Catawba, Marblehead and of course Port Clinton.
The condo was spacious and clean and had all the amenities we needed!
I would definitely stay here again on a future trip :-)

Girls gone Lakefront
Our annual girls trip to the lake is always a success at The Shores. Condos are nice, pool area is great and sits right on the lakeshore. Wonderful sunset viewing area. We prefer to stay at this complex on our trips.

Weekend get away
The property was fine except all the stairs we had to go up carrying everything. Yes it would of been better if we would of had central air in that one bedroom and living room. Over all the stay was pretty good. One more thing the swimming pool and those rings, you couldn't swim.

Unsafe balconies & couldn’t secure guest bedroom balcony slider.
Check in directions were good. Unit was located on the third floor, and it looked recently cleaned/freshly dusted. (Lots of glass surfaces everywhere) There were some crumbs left on the dining chairs though, but those were easily wiped away.
All three balconies had various issues. None of them were safe!!!
Balcony 1: The guest room had a a/c unit parked within inches of the bed. This unit was attached to a board that was placed in the door jam. This door could not be locked into place. My toddler could not safely stay in this room because of the slider door, and that a/c unit.
Balcony 2: The main bedroom balcony had a sign taped to the door, and it was ripped when we arrived. The sign basically stated to not remove it, and to stay off of the balcony while it was being repaired.
Balcony 3: This balcony was off of the living room, and it was the largest one. Multiple spindles were missing from the hand rail, stucco sections from the wall were laying on the balcony, the furniture was piled to one side, and this area was simply an unsafe hazard area. (Unusable) This space also had the same sign posted, and it appeared to be from the condo management.
We immediately tried to call our contact for the property, but the call went to a business voicemail. Our contact did promptly respond via email, and here is his response: “The construction work is news to me. If you’re not happy you’re welcome to leave I’ll be happy to refund your money.” So we did choose to leave, and we followed the proper check out protocol.
I have since tried to email him back, and I have heard nothing. I am curious to the process to getting this issue resolved. The manager’s last response was now 6 days ago.
Why were these construction issues not disclosed? How did the property manager not know? The unit should have been closed for reservations as soon as the damage happened.
We simply want our money back because the unit was unsafe & unfit for anyone.

the deck was out of commission due to renovation.
okay, but the fact that the outside deck was totally closed off due to major renovation was so disappointing and misleading to the customer.
