Les Soldanelles was absolutely perfect for our family of 5. The view of Mont Blanc is absolutely incredible and I miss waking up to it. Make sure you catch at least one sunrise, and relax on the balcony at sunset - the scenery doesn’t look real!
The pictures really don’t show how big it is, so much space.
The kitchen is well equipped, and having the washer and dryer in the basement was great as it meant I could reduce how much washing needed to be done when we got home - ideal if you have a family as it can reduce how much you need to pack considerably!
The location is perfect for public transport - station and bus stops are only a minute’s walk away. Both run on time and the scenery while travelling is beautiful. We were staying for the UTMB trail running week so spent a lot of time in Chamonix but will be returning to explore the area further! The trains and buses are free with the guest card given to you with the keys - make sure you fill in the dates and take them with you (I forgot them once!) It’s so quiet and peaceful in Montroc.
There are lots of books & DVDs etc - great for family time in the evenings. The decor is quite retro and really adds to the charm of the place, lots of cool things to look at!
Communication from Happy Services throughout has been brilliant, and they were quick to answer a question I had while we were there. The office to collect the keys is in Argentière - lovely restruarants and patisseries if you have to wait before check in time.
It didn’t bother us but I thought it would be useful to note - Les Soldanelles is spread over 6 floors, this means there are lots of stairs!
Not a single negative about the property at all.
Public transport only goes to Montroc until 8.30pm ish in the Summer. Again, this didn’t bother us as we usually got the last train back, but is something to consider if you plan to stay out later and don’t have a car - there are taxis in the valley though. It cost €50 from Montroc to Chamonix at 5am (my husband was running a race early!) which was a reasonable price for the 25/30min journey, especially at that time of day.

location close to station and bus stop; free bus and train passes for all of us. spacious. GREAT VIEWS INTO MONT BLANC - 24/7!
there are actually 6 floors including the
basement where the washing machine is and the little freezer. bunk beds very crammed. in the main bedroom bath room its a bidet - it would be more beneficial to swap it with a toilet really. but overall lovely stay.

What breakfast? I don't really remember any breakfast being supplied. A bottle of wine and some biscuits were left for us. The view from the apartment was spectacular, the rooms were warm, the seating comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there very much. The only problems were with lack of specific details regarding staying there.
We found it hard to switch off the radiator in the main bedroom resulting in over-warm nights. If you don't haver a car you have to rely on the train and the bus. This would be fine but information should have been supplied about their timetables before departure. When I asked where the nearest Supermarket was before leaving for our holiday the reply was blandly "2km away". This really annoyed me especially as no information was supplied about what basic ingredients might be left in the house. At other places I have stayed they say have supplied tea, coffee, milk and sugar and a few other standard things. Bearing in mind that we couldn't get in to the house till 4 pm this left us virtually no time to get essential things after unpacking. The entry time of 4 pm is very late basically wiping off one day of our holiday, surely it could be brought forward earlier??.
We had a power failure probably due to the extractor fan (according to the local letting agents). This happened just as we were about to have dinner. Could not find any torches which made it difficult to see anywhere. We had to ring the letting agents who told us where to find the master switch which was in the basement.
