My partner and I decided to book Hamish's spot for a short staycation in Christchurch and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect, right near Sumner beach so with plenty of walks and cafes near by. The house itself was adorable - a quaint cottage just enough for two people with all the amenities required. Getting up to the loft does require a bit of balance and fitness but it was so fun and the roof window was great to spot paragliders in the distance. Hamish was a lovely host - very friendly and easy to get in touch with.

Wonderful & quirky place to stay. It may be small but it really was a joy staying here. A good base for exploring the Christchurch and surrounding areas, however you do need a car for getting around.
Definitely recommend here if you like something different 😎

Well-equipped, very comfortable tiny house - it is tiny but perfect for one (would probably be a squeeze for two, though). Lovely setting in an organic garden, with sea views, and well-located between Sumner and Taylors Mistake beaches. Lovely hosts too. Highly recommended!

Our stay at this Tiny House was simply wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The house is so cozy and tastefully decorated that we didn't want to leave. The use of the limited space is absolutely ingenious, and we found everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The location is perfect - secluded enough for peace and relaxation, yet close to great restaurants and activities. The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and communication was seamless. We would highly recommend this Tiny House to anyone looking for a unique and cozy accommodation.

Amazing views from the cozy sleeping loft in this small, cleverly designed cabin set in a lovely garden. Next door access to the trails leading to Taylor’s Mistake and easy driving access to other beaches, towns, restaurants, and hikes. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, too. All in all, a great choice if you love tiny houses.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Christchurch. The nearby Taylor's mistake beach and the Godley beach park were beautiful. The communication with the owner was excellent and the tiny house was exactly what we expected and needed. It is a steep walk from the bus stop but the views alone a worth the effort.

This was one of my last stops on an 80-day, around-the-world trip. Nice and quiet place to relax after a lot of long travel. Walking to get groceries is a bit of an ordeal, but still doable and you get some gorgeous scenery. No microwave, but the stove top made soups and breakfasts much easier than most hotel microwaves. Do need a bit of agility to get into the loft, but the skylight has quite the view and is very good for stargazing if the weather is good. The Taylor’s Mistake trail is right around the corner.

Was a cute tiny house in between Sumner and Taylors Mistake.Commfortable bed on mezzanine with ladder access. If you're not very agile - this isnt for you. Lots of great walks in the area with good cafes

I enjoyed walking on the cliff paths and soaking up the sound of sea waves washing over the rocks, as the birds sang and squawked above. Very quiet in the Tiny House, and so ideal for reading and thinking, or keeping an eye on ship movements.

Hamish and Ronene were the most lovely hosts and truly made my experience beyond special. Not only was their hospitality exceptional, their tiny home was designed with the utmost care and perfectly overlooks the ocean. I was impressed with how spacious the tiny home was and I thoroughly enjoyed the warm and cosy interior, such a magical space! The tiny home property is right in the middle of some of the most stunning trails that lead to Taylors Mistake Beach as well as Scarborough beach. My long stay there surpassed any of my expectations because of the special care that Hamish and Ronene constantly showed alongside the welcoming home environment that they so effortlessly cultivated. If you ever want to truly experience a peaceful nature environment with some of the most genuine humans then this is the place to be, thank you so much Hamish and Ronene for being the absolute best!
