This property met the basics: roof, floor, walls, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. But it really could use a good, deep cleaning outside and in.
Outside the property is very overgrown. There were rotted through areas of the deck in the front house, the gate to the cottage, the storage box on deck of cottage, and the railroad ties on the path. The outside could use a good pressure washing and trim. Old containers and concrete slabs could be removed. Deck on the cottage felt weak. The table/chairs and driftwood bench, need to be replaced. The area outside the double doors off the living room needs a good raking and trim. The polyester curtains on those doors need to be washed. There were visible spots. The lock box needs to be replaced.
Inside it smelled of mildew and it was dusty. Everything just felt "tired". The towels in the bathroom need to be replaced (thin and dingy), as does the paper in the partition between the living area and the bedroom. (It was pulling away from the trim.) The living room furniture was tired. The cushions were flat and the polyester pillows were from the 1970's. The walls were dingy. A nice coat of paint would go a long way as would new carpeting. The bed was comfortable, but the feather pillows concerned me taken in the context of everything else.
It could be described as "rustic", but rustic doesn't have to be sad and tired.

This charming bungalow was inviting and well stocked for any guest's needs. The bedroom had a comfortable bed and a quiet location at the back of the house. There was plenty of gathering space inoors and out.

The cottage was so calm and lovely. There was plenty of space for 2 people and we had an easy time checking in and out. Comfy and wonderful!

I stayed at this cottage for a couple nights by myself while I had some business in town, and my stay was pretty bad.
My biggest issue was the smell - it reeked of cat pee. I have owned many animals throughout my life, enough to immediately recognize the smell. It was honestly overwhelming. The bedroom/living room area of the house is small and carpeted, so when I first opened the door the pee smell just hit me in the face, and the heaters made it so stuffy and suffocating.
I immediately went to open the windows to air it out, and found none of the windows had screens.. except one, which wasn’t an actual installed screen panel, but a cut of screen fabric that was halfway attached with Velcro. I had to open up the place either way, the smell was so bad. That began the next issue - the spiders.
I opened up three windows and the French doors, each time a giant spider fell down onto me. I am from the PNW, I know how it is and spiders don’t actually bother me that much. But after the 6th or 7th time one fell on me I was over it.
The living area has stiff, uncomfortable wood futons, not the nice couches shown in the photos.
Each night there was a neighbor yelling aggressively at someone.. being a younger woman on my own and hearing a nearby man yell angrily all night was unsettling, to say the least.
There were cobwebs everywhere, crumbs on the carpet and surfaces, and overall the place did not feel clean. Plus the smell.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I travel for work and really like not having to stay in hotels! The Cottage was a perfect solution that I fell in love with after a coworker found it first.
Quiet, clean, and tucked away in a lovely garden area. A neighborhood cat (Dinah) hung out in the back garden to bird watch, cuddle and nap too.
Highly recommend!

I loved staying in this little house-behind-a-house. It had everything I needed, and then some. It's surrounded by greenery, with its own little garden outside a pair of French doors. It's a peaceful haven, and I felt very safe staying here on my own.
I have back pain, so am fussy about beds and seating, but I was very comfortable here. The bed is just right, with a wonderful assortment of pillows: some feather, some synthetic and of varying firmness.
The kitchen has two types of coffee makers, and even a coffee grinder and half & half.

Great little cottage
We only had to stay for a night during for our trip. The cottage had everything you needed in the kitchen and it felt like home. The price wasn’t that much more than local hotels which is why we stayed there. Very close to food and the down town area. We only wished it had a small tv to occupy is for a few hours but honesty it wasn’t a big deal. You park on the street in front of the place but that didn’t matter to us either. We felt safe there.

Great option for a stay in Olympia
This little gem is near the heart of the city but is so quiet and private it doesn’t feel like it at all. Convenient, clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen complete with good coffee and real half & half...I couldn’t have asked for anything more. This is definitely on my return list!

A Little Oasis in The Middle of Town!
The feeling reminded me of a little beach cabin in Japan. There is a lovely, very thoughtfully created and peaceful view from every window. I stayed in the middle of COVID-19 so all the restaurants and stores were closed. But there is a high-end grocery store within walking distance, which was open. I would highly recommend this spot if you need to stay in town and want a bit of peace and tranquility.
