Plenty of space for a family group, clean and comfortable, well furnished. Lots of outdoor activities within a 30-40min drive. Friendly and helpful owners.

The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals and have a comfortable vacation. It’s a quiet retreat and an easy drive to the northwestern entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. A good nights sleep is so important on vacation and all the beds were very comfy. We enjoyed a week of quilting, shopping at a great quilt shop in Susanville, visiting breathtaking Mt Lassen Park and Burney Falls. We hope to return next year to explore more of the area.

There was no communication about the checkin procedure and we arrived at the place after the 4pm allowed checkin time. We waited for 30 minutes hoping someone would come by and let us in. The neighbor across the street saw us all there, and to our surprise about 10-15 minutes after seeing us, she came over and said she was the property manager and opened the door to let us in. Not even so much as a "Hi" to greet us. It was very rude and my family was not impressed. The place was very nice and clean, but the trouble at checkin really made us feel very unwelcome. I had asked for an early checkin through the VRBO message and did get an email response from a dedicated contact person a few hours later that was a boiler plate email, basically saying no. Again, very unwelcoming. The house was setup nice and had coffee, and all the supplies you would need. The game closet was also very nice. My main complaint is the coldness of the host(s). I always like being able to call or talk to someone if there are problems. It would have been much nicer to get an email with the contact (phone number) before checkin, so I could feel we were covered in the case of problems. I felt like leaving after our unwelcome introduction.

We loved it here. Spent most of our time at Lassen NP, but couldn’t have asked for a better place to come back to after exploring all day. Having coffee on sight was the best, we arrived late and were so relieved that we had some for the next morning!!! We loved it!!

This is a great house and location for exploring Lassen and the surrounding area. When we lost power due to a thunderstorm, the owner proactively reached out to let us know about a battery pack we could use to keep our devices charged. This was very thoughtful. The house itself was clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

The property was very clean and easy to find! We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the short drive to the northern entrance to Lassen Volcanic NP. The drive to the southwester NP gate was a little over an hour and very scenic. Shingletown is a very small town- we stopped at Anderson on way in to purchase groceries. Due to the rural area, there wasn't cell service at the house, which was okay for us. After leaving, the property manager texted that we had left my husband's glasses by mistake - the manager was great working with us to have the glasses mailed! Would definitely recommend the property!
