Welcome to My Happy Place!
We have nestled My Happy Place on the most pristine beach of Spanish Wells, within walking distance to everything
Just step down the double stairs and use the private white sand path, a blissful 70 feet walk takes you to a nearly private beach.
Calm and turquoise water, next to no one will walk by, this paradise is yours. No shoes needed, when you come back, just dip your feet in the freshwater footbath and enjoy our outdoor deck shower.
We have designed our home ourselves and have curated every detail so that it feels like travelling at the end of the world.
It’s on stilts, with a large deck allowing to enjoy both the views of the ocean and the sky, whose colors are constantly changing. Have lunch at the outdoor table, lounge on the comfy couch, take a nap, you desert it.

The large open living space is accented by high ceilings and white shiplap walls creating a bright and airy ambiance throughout. It is a real holiday house, with many spots and nooks to press pause and enjoy in.
The kitchen is fully equipped, everything you need and you didn’t know you did. Hint: mango smoothie or margharita? The first bedroom has a king bed with a double vanity ensuite bathroom, and an ocean view private balcony. A kids’ room with large bunkbeds will please children of all age, and an adjacent bathroom .A laundry room, fully equipped with brand new washer and dryers.
Walk up the stairs and discover a huge master suite, with an ultra-comfortable king bed, soaked in sunlight during the day, and a sleeping under the open sky feeling at night. Or close the curtains, your choice.From the daybed, enjoy the best view of the house, garden and ocean, unwind, and you know what? Take a nap while you’re there.
We have chosen to only use rainwater (compared to city water), in order to have the best experience. We also use a Berkey water filter tank for drinking water, to produce the most healthful drinking water available and the best of the island. You won’t need plastic bottles from the stores.
The house has also been designed to use wind as much as possible to cool those hot days. Sure, we have central AC, but just open any of the many windows and let the breeze in, there’s nothing like it….
On the island, you will find a couple convenient stores besides Food Fair, several restaurants, a doctor, a dentist office, a few shops, but the greatest thing there is the kindness and warmth of the locals.
We are happy to share our home with you and hope it will soon become your happy place during your stay in the Bahamas and that you find it a pleasant retreat to return to.
How to get there you said?
Direct daily air service to North Eleuthera airport (ELH) is available from Atlanta (Delta), Fort Lauderdale (Silver Airways), Charlotte and Miami (American Airlines), and many more from other islands (Bahamasair and Pineapple Airlines)
Then a cab costs $15 and includes a drive to Gene Bay Dock and a short boat ride to Spanish Wells. If you rented a golf cart, it awaits you on the dock with your name on it. Literally. Our property manager will be there to welcome you, take you to the house, and take you for an island tour if you’re up to it.

We enjoyed a wonderful week on Spanish Wells for the 4th time but first time in this wonderful house. What we probably loved most was the huge porch and the pretty beach with like almost no people.

the ocean, and there’s a large covered porch to relax on and listen to the wind blowing through the palm trees! This house was perfect for two couples and two children!

What a wonderful island and a fabulous house! The house was even better than expected. Very spacious and located on the most beautiful beach on Spanish Wells. The kitchen was complete with everything we needed and the bedrooms were very comfortable. Fabulous deck to sit out in the morning and drink our coffee. Easy communication with Candida made our stay even better. Would love to return!

Our happy place was just that while we were in Spanish Wells! This house is absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed for our stay, including our family and 2 young children. The beach in front of this property is stunning and we enjoyed its proximity to the sandbar. We had an amazing time and hope to visit again soon! Spanish Wells does it for us again!

My Happy Place was perfectly situated and beautifully furnished. We loved being able to walk to the beach and swim daily, have lunch/naps in the house and then back to the beach after dinner. It was beautiful, comfortable and very clean! We loved our stay. Thank you!

What a wonderful vacation, start to finish! I had never heard of Spanish Wells and has stumbled upon it by accident while searching rentals in the Caribbean. And am I glad we did! The home is beautiful, new, spacious and clean. My husband is a chef and we ate most of our meals at the house. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed and the bbq grille was used many nights. We took advantage of the provided beach chairs and kayaks and spent every day relaxing and enjoying the gorgeous beach - a 30 second walk down a sandy path from the house. Thank you Marie and Ben for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home. We hope to return every year!

My Happy Place is the perfect name for this beautiful property on this beautiful island. It truly was our happy place for the week that we were there. Wish we would have booked it for at least two weeks. It was paradise!

The house is beautiful and location is great! Great set up for kids with the bunk beds. Proximity to the beach was convenient for going back and forth to the house especially with kids. We often had the beach to ourselves. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to return.

Absolutely stunning. So much thought has been put into “My Happy Place.” Pair the house with a friendly island and a gorgeous beach and water there’s no reason not to visit again! The open floor plan and simple yet elegant decor was just perfect. They have everything you would ever need, plus more! We didn’t even have time to watch any TV or play the numerous board games since we spent all our time on the GORGEOUS beach, but it was so nice they were there! One of the first things my daughter noticed was the hammock and a swing under the house, so fun! I was won over by the kid’s step stool in the bathroom, made life so much easier for our 5 year old and was such a thoughtful added touch… it’s the little things! The house is super clean and organized. Another reviewer said there wasn’t a hair dryer.. but there is, in the green bedroom! We used the kayaks for an adventure one of the days and my daughter loved using the beach pail and sifter to collect her finds along the beach. The water is absolutely perfect for anyone, but especially kids as my daughter could go out at least 200+ meters and not even have the water over her waist. Candida was super helpful upon our arrival and even scheduled everything for our departure since our flight left in the evening after check-out. Do yourself a favor and book a full-day charter. We went out with Captain Clayton from DaSaltyPig and it was the most amazing experience. This was easily one of our favorite and most memorable vacations, thank you for sharing “My Happy Place” with us!

This house (believe it or not) is better than the pictures. So much detail went into this amazing property. Plus the berkey is the icing on top (I brought my own berkey filter to realize they had one). Overall, perfection. I will be staying here again and again.

Two couples and a college age son spent two weeks on Spanish Wells for the second summer in a row. We love the island and it people - it truly is a wonderful escape from the real world. We are so glad we found “My Happy Place”. The pictures are accurate but it is so much better in person!!!
The home was so clean and the location on the island is perfect. A very quick golf cart ride to the grocery store and to Papa Scoops! The kitchen is well equipped although we ate most dinners out - we rotated between Sandbar, Wreckers, and Shipyard. Wreckers is a short golf cart away so we even did takeout pizza and wings a couple of nights.
We loved having the Berkey! So much easier than arranging to have a 5 gallon water jug refilled. We also purchased the Blueland detergent in advance and tried it at home. We found it to be a great product and we used it for our laundry on our trip.
We had great communication and quick response with the owner during the months leading up to the trip. Once on the island, the house manager was great and also quick to answer questions. You will need to book the golf cart and ferry transportation on your own - but so easy! The only thing that we found that we needed in the house was a hair dryer. Everything else was provided.
Favorite part of the house - the covered porch and views of the ocean. It was a really quick and easy walk to the beach and we spent every day there! The beach on Spanish Wells is like a big swimming pool - never very deep and you can float all day! We walked to the sandbar each day and always saw lots of starfish. The bathrooms with large walk in showers are also amazing! And the outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing the sand off each day.
Will we return to Spanish Wells … absolutely!!! “My Happy Place” will be where we choose to stay. It truly is a special place.
Now .. if we can just figure out how to get to Eleuthera without battling the American Airline flight from Charlotte …..

Stunning views of a beautiful Beach!
Having been to more than a few Caribbean islands, Spanish Wells has become our new favorite and this house has become our new favorite place to stay. Clean, open concept, well appointed, etc.. We eat in most times and the kitchen provided all that we needed to prepare a gourmet meal with the local fish. The beds and pillows were luxurious. Even though the house is set back, the views are perfect and the front porch is covered and furnished with a lovely outdoor couch. My daughter ended up sleeping in the great room
reading nook, not because she had to, after all she had a beautiful bedroom, but because she loved the coziness of it. The house is situated at the most beautiful part of the north beach. Just perfect for a relaxing vacation. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely and convenient beach house in the heart of Spanish Wells
Clean and spacious house that is close and convenient to all the amenities Spanish Wells has to offer. Lovely view of the water with just a short walk to the beach. House has all basic amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable. Neighboring house the cutest little gang of small dogs that like to let their little barks be heard ;)

Such a great property!
My Happy Place was fantastic. It is beautiful, well appointed, and welcoming. We had everything we needed and felt right at home. The kids room was a hit with our almost 4 yo. He loved the toys and they kept him so entertained. Just a two minute walk and you are on a gorgeous beach with almost no one there. We will be back!

Wonderful Place
We had a wonderful time during our stay. The location is perfect. The house was beautiful- little hard to stay cool but we made it work. The kitchen was well appointed- only drawback would be no closet in the master or bunk room and no iron if needed to iron clothing.
All in all a wonderful place!!

The house is just in front of the beach, it is very clean and cozy. We truly felt at home.
