About this bed and breakfast
Come as you are & take a seat at nature’s table under the canopy of stars. Embrace the wooded ambiance and meadow views from our 2000 sq. ft suite. We are conveniently located between I-68 and Deep Creek Lake/Wisp Ski Resort. Our hope is to provide a serene landscape where you can experience peace and rest through nature. Our setup works well for business travelers, couples, couples with children and for those celebrating a special occasion.
The Board Room is a brand new ground floor 2000 SQ FT 2 Bedroom/1 Bath suite, with two private entrances. The rear entrance is 1 step and the side entrance is 7 steps. While it is the lower level of our home, it is soundproofed to where normal conversations cannot be heard. You may hear some footsteps. It has central heat and air conditioning, with an exterior entrance & parking for 2-3 cars. The Board Room parking and entrance is on a different side of the house from the main entrance and is shared with the guests from our other space - The Butterfly Suite.. We are hidden at the end of a 700’ lane through a forest carpeted with ferns.
The Board Room overlooks a 60-acre former strawberry farm where deer and wild turkeys are frequent guests. Feel free to gander at our resident chickens and take a leisurely walk /hike through the woods and our property! Take a seat and enjoy the stars in their nightly splendor while sitting around the fire pit. In the summer air you can hear the music of cicadas and crickets strumming their wings and spring peepers in the moonlight. This is one of my favorites!
Although this is newly constructed there is plenty of age & history. Most of the stone used on the premises are from the farm. Some of the hand cut stones used in the landscaping were from the foundation of a (1800’s) school that Ken’s grandfather attended. The head board in the master bedroom was constructed by Ken & Cheryl from 140-year-old barn-boards.
The master bedroom has a king size bed. The bathroom with a tub/shower is across the hall from the master bedroom. The 2nd Bedroom has curtains over the doorway and has a queen bed and a full bed. There is a single bed sized day bed with a trundle in the room with the ping pong table. There is also a couch in the Living Room that can be used to sleep on. A Pack-n-Play can be made available if requested in advance.
The Board Room has a kitchenette with a stainless steel sink, fridge, toaster oven, microwave, single burner induction cooktop, electric kettle, a drip coffee maker, and a Keurig coffee maker. The kitchen is also equipped with cooking and eating utensils, sugar, salt, basic spices, assorted teas, a few K-Cups, etc.
This is a perfect yet affordable location for a peaceful retreat in the country or for a family ski/lake weekend. It also works great for a business traveler looking for a home away from home. We are located near a state forest which makes this a convenient location for hunters. The outdoor seating is a great location to have your morning coffee and watch the sun rise and the deer graze in the meadow!
There is a streaming ROKU TV in the Living Room. A DVD player and some assorted DVD movies are available for you to use. The ping pong table has been a big hit with our guests, especially for families with children!
Free Wireless Internet is available. It is provided by Comcast and with our current router, the speed is typically about 36 MBPS.
To make the stay of our guests with allergies more pleasant, this is a NO SMOKING and NO PET property.
Guests have exclusive use of the suite. There are two parking spaces designated for our guests. Outdoor areas are shared. Quiet time is from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
This is also a smoke free and illegal drug free property.

This is a very cute place that is close enough to Deep Creek yet far enough from all the chaos. It was very clean and decorated nicely. The owner allowed us to pick fresh vegetables from his garden which was very sweet. I would recommend this place if you are coming to deep creek and like the wooded area.

My friends and I stayed here for a trip and the owners, Ken and Cheryl, went above and beyond our expectations in making us comfortable and providing a welcoming environment. Their rental was so homey, comfortable, and very well decorated with a very spacious layout that comfortably fit our party. We enjoyed the board games and game room included as well. We will certainly consider the Board Room when staying in Maryland!!! There was also an issue on VRBO’s end and Ken was so understanding and patient through the whole situation.
Ken and Cheryl- you are both saints and it was a blessing to feel so safe and comfortable on a trip.we cannot thank you enough!!! :)

Good location for Lake activities without the congestion. The Board Room is large yet cozy. Fully appointed, clean, and quiet. I used it for remote work and as a place to cool out after Deep Creek visits. It is super roomy and can comfortably host many people. In fact, it's hard for the advertisement to convey how expansive it really is. Highly recommended!

I stumbled upon this hidden gem in Accident, Maryland, and what a pleasant surprise it was! The property boasts serene landscapes with a picturesque pond and charming chickens roaming around. The accommodations were spotless and equipped with everything I needed. The abundance of amenities exceeded my expectations, making for a truly comfortable stay. The atmosphere was peaceful and rejuvenating, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat in nature.

Wonderful property and delightful hosts. The property is beautiful and has a pond with a paddle boat and kayaks on it. The Boardroom is a nice place to stay, even with 6 of us. A lot of ping pong was played and memories made. Exactly what we were looking for. Close to Deep Creek (~10-15 minutes). So you can go out for some adventures without much trouble.

We enjoyed our overnight trip. There was plenty of wood for the firepit and the rooms were as advertised. Was actually bigger than I thought it would be. Host was very nice. We loved the chickens and the outdoor area.

Our family stayed at this property during a ski weekend at nearby Wisp. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but as soon as we opened the door we felt right at home. Our teenage kids loved it. The main area is perfect for gathering, playing games, reading, or eating together. The ping pong table was also a hit.
The hosts were extremely gracious, and we appreciated the fresh homemade bread and jam they left for us. We plan on coming back again - it's the perfect place to stay when visiting Deep Creek in winter or summer.

Thank you VRBO- our brief stay was perfect. All the hotels were booked solid for the graduation day at WVU-- so I looked into a place to stay -- We were 57 minutes away from WVU and the graduation was at 9am...Instead of waking up and leaving at 2:30 in the morning, we were able to stay the night and just wake up early to make to the graduation on time.
Our place was perfect -- a little something for everyone!
Our teens loved the ping pong table. I loved the decor! My husband enjoyed checking out Deep Creek and Wisp-- It was a Perfect place!

This was our second year staying at this property for a girls' weekend. We came to the area to enjoy the fall mountain views and explore the local scenes. We only stayed one night last year, but after such an enjoyable trip, we decided to extend the trip for an entire weekend. It did not disappoint! Thank you, Ken and family, for sharing your property with us again! We had such a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was lovely and it was nice to chat with Ken. He was helpful and answered our questions before we came. The place was comfortable and a nice get away from our town life. I would love to visit again in the the Summer.

Quick overnight stay
The Board room was very cozy and had everything that my family needed after a long day of skiing and snowboarding! We were very happy with the communication and easy check in process. Loved the decor and comfy sleeping quarters!

Beautiful and spacious property
I had originally booked this stay for 5 people (two adults and three children), however one adult and the children could not make it, so I decided to stay anyway in order to get away and play some golf and go skiing. The place is very large and has almost anything you could need, a little large for just myself but seems to be perfect for larger groups. The owners are friendly but give you plenty of privacy. The location is good, only a few minutes from WISP and towns surrounding deep creek lake. I would consider staying here again in the future.

Peaceful and quaint
We had an enjoyable stay. We loved the scenery, chickens, the home decor and all the amenities.

Perfect, cozy space for anyone looking for a getaway!
This was the absolute perfect place for my girlfriends and I to get away for a night. The property is absolutely beautiful, especially this time of year (fall). The chickens are the best greeters, and they have the friendliest cat to keep you company while walking around the grounds. The inside was very clean, very spacious, and decorated beautifully. The roku TV had just about every streaming channel you could imagine with guest accounts so we didn't have to worry about the hassle of signing in and out. The property owner, Ken, was very quick to respond to any communication, but never intruded on the space we occupied. If you're into more outdoor activities, they did have cornhole boards, a fire pit to use. The property is very private, but not so secluded that you feel "off the grid". We can't wait to stay here again! Thank you, Ken and family!

This was a great hidden gem of a property. The indoor space was surprisingly spacious. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Boardroom! The decor and attention to detail gave this space so much charm! Our kids loved the ping pong table. The owners were kind, great at communicating and providing a list of ideas for local things to do. It was a short stay, but a great one!
4.9
nice stay
Overall nice stay. Great location, very nicely decorated, plenty of space(much larger than it looks in pictures), and plenty private. The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 is the amount of HEAVY foot steps that you hear well into the night and sliding and banging, what I assume is chairs, from the hosts who live in the house above the rental space.

Great getaway
Celebrated our sister’s 60th birthday with a quick trip to Deep Creek. We loved the property! Great respite after hiking and exploring. The pictures do not do it justice. Very clean, unique and so much room. We had fun playing ping-pong, games and catching up. Ken could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.
