About this house rental
Located in the gated community of the Key West Golf Club, enjoy your morning coffee in the enclosed back porch overlooking the 2nd fairway of the golf course before heading to the pool or gym, which is just out the front door and across the street. It's steps away from a golfer's paradise and a short 20 minute drive into downtown for shopping, entertainment and good eats or about the same time to bike to the beach.
This vintage Floridian designed townhouse features a larger floor plan, with a kitchen bump out for a spacious dining area. There are 2 bedrooms (one queen bed and one full bed) and 1 full bath upstairs, with a half bathroom downstairs. The pullout couch in the living room can sleep an additional 2 guests. With it's unique Spanish tiled flooring, bamboo and palm touches with classic Audubon prints throughout, you will feel that you're staying in a true Hemingway hideaway.
The kitchen includes a full sized refrigerator, stove/oven, utensils, plates, ice machine, microwave and dishwasher.
Other amenities include an in-unit washer and dryer in the 2nd bedroom, pillows, air conditioning, wifi, bath and beach towels, bed sheets and blankets, a TV in the living room and master bedroom. There is also 24-hour security.
You will have access to two street parking spots for the townhouse, if you have a third vehicle it can be parked on College Road outside the club entrance.
I live in the adjacent townhouse with my dog, Norman should any issues arise during your stay.

This is a very nice property. The owner, Steve, was very friendly and helpful! We were able to get groceries delivered from Publix very easily and Uber pickups within ~5m of ordering. The pool is beautiful. Loved having the in condo laundry available. Restaurants in Stock Island are great. We loved the Hurricane Hole and the restaurants//happy hours at the Perry Inn. Very comfortable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Home away from home
Steve was a wonderful host, the condo was perfect, it had everything that we needed. The area was perfect close to Key West and other attractions. My daughter and I loved going to the big pool everyday about a 5 minute walk away. Everyone was friendly made you feel at home. We could have stayed longer we hated to leave we enjoyed it so much. Next time we come to Key West we are going to stay at Steve place again next time longer. Thank you Steve for sharing your home with us.
Thanks,
Patsy and Casey

A true Key West gem
It didn’t take long before we realized how great we had it at this property. The shade on the property was very nice and the interior well thought out - decor in step with the KW vibe. With quick access to downtown, we could be in the thick of it or stay in the club gates and choose to be far away from the action. It was so quiet at night for how many homes. There is a nice pool and small fitness area that is open late.
Steve was resourceful about where to go and where to avoid .Even though he lived next door and was home a lot, we didn’t talk much. It was nice to know he was there if we needed him for any problem. But there wasn’t a problem.
The whole area is gated and we always felt safe and secure at all times for my wife and three girls that went. We slept with the doors and windows open before it really started getting toasty and they demanded air conditioning. There is something about the KW breeze that’s hard to beat. Keep in mind the mowers on the golf course or the roosters will wake you up early.
We have been to The Keys several times and this property at the Key West Golf Club is by far our number one. Even though the KWKC area is geared more towards adults than kids (maybe that’s obvious) there was no complaints at all with what we experienced during our ten days at this property.

Overall a great place
First of all, Steve was fantastic. He gave great instructions and was just really nice and helpful and I very much appreciated him. The place is very nice, and the pool is right across the street. It's on the golf club with 24/7 security so we felt very safe the whole time and with our young kids with us, that gave us great peace of mind. The only downside, if you can call it that, is getting to downtown Key West where pretty much all the activities are. It's about a 20-30 minute drive once you find parking. But, not terrible. This was our third time visiting Key West and the first time we didn't stay near Duval St. I felt like there was a different vibe not staying in Key West proper but some days it was nice to escape the madness of downtown Key West and come back to the quiet confines of the golf club. So like my title, it was overall a great place and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Love the Key West Golf Club
Steve was a fantastic host! He was quick to communicate, gave great suggestions and was a very gracious host. We loved riding bikes around the golf club and our kids loved the pool! It was quiet, felt very safe and was definitely a relaxing vacation for our whole family. The location was fantastic as well with beaches, airport and shopping within 10 minutes drive. Only slight disappointment was the cleanliness of the place when we arrived, but the positives definitely made up for that! Don't think twice - book this place!

The BEST!
Renting The Flamingos Nest was the best VRBO experience ever. The owner Steve was great with communication and the entire process was easy and stress-free. The property was even nicer than the pictures show and perfect for 4 adults to share. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens and towels were provided. All of the appliances were in great condition and worked really well and the washer and dryer were super fast and we didn't have to go home with dirty laundry. The Key West Golf Club is a quiet and serene community with great amenities and the beautiful pool is literally right across the street from the house. Parking was very convenient and there were always spaces available in front of the property. Everyone that worked in the gate house was super-friendly and we loved the extra sense of security that the roaming guards in golf carts provided. We rented scooters from Conch Scooters (very reasonable and they delivered and picked up right in front of the house!) and getting the proper temporary parking permits for the KWGC was super easy. The location is great - very convenient to get to all the action (less than 10 minutes from Old Town.) There is nothing negative I could say about our 10 days spent at Steve's place and we are already making plans to stay there again. You won't regret staying at The Flamingos Nest!
