This property served as an excellent vacation rental for our family of 5 for a week-long trip to visit the DC metro area. It’s just a 15 minute drive (during low traffic times) to the National Mall. One metro station is walking distance and another metro station (with a parking garage) is just an 8 minute drive. The beds were all comfortable, kitchen is well-stocked and very nice for meal preparation, the backyard patio and grilling station are also very nice. The neighborhood is well maintained, safe, and very quaint. Our host was both very helpful and responsive. I highly recommend this property and host. We’d definitely stay here again.

This house was a great place to rest and wind down after spending the day sightseeing in DC. It had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed grilling and hanging out on the back patio. The kids loved their room and all the beds were very comfortable. We looked forward to getting back there at the end of our day.
The stairs out front were very steep getting to the front door but we knew that from the description on Vrbo.

It was okay

Great location, nice neighborhood close to metro, just a short walk less than a mile. Close to down town Old Alexandria. House was very nice. Manager was responsive and helpful. Would stay here again. I read some comments about the step. They were not bad at all. The house has step but nothing extreme. My 70 year old stepmother navigated them without issue.

Property was as advertised and plenty of space for our family. Location was within walking distance to the metro (my kids were able to walk with no issues). Communication with the owner was very good. Wonderful place for families!

We loved this location. It felt like a home away from home for our visit to the D.C. area. It was within a good walking distance (about 18 - 20 min) for a family of 5 with a 5 year old to get to the metro. We felt very safe in the neighborhood, and enjoyed the time we had at the house as a family. The beds were great, the showers were awesome, and we would definitely re-book this location if we come back to this area.

We stayed 7 days over Christmas. We made dinner for 8 on Christmas Eve. Large backyard area if we stayed in the summer. 😏 very comfortable. Good location in nice neighborhood. Only challenge is 10 steps up from street. At 75 I am healthy enough to negotiate the stairs, however I think they would be a challenge for anyone with disabilities.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The location was great. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The host was very nice. We didn’t get to see everything and would like to come back to the area. We would definitely stay here again.

This home was nicely updated inside and had an excellent floor plan for a smaller house. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again.
4.8
It had three good sized bedrooms and able to sit 6 comfortably in the dining room and 2 at the counter. Worked well to visit national mall via the metro and parking on the street right in front of the house was never a problem.

This is a wonderful property in a good location. There is plenty of room and love that the upstairs bedrooms have been separated by a wall making both room private. Andrew was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. Yes there is a lot of stairs but they are doable as we are in our 70's. The patio is very relaxing but the grill needs some repair. The Metro is not within walking distance so you will have to drive and pay for parking which ran us $18 a day at the Embassy Suites garage, I would highly recommend this property.

Well locate for uber service. Younger folks walked to metro station & Wegmans grocery. Had a problem with kitchen disposal. Owner promptly arranged to came over and resolve the the problem. He was very responsive to inquiries.

Great place, very clean, and modern. Lots of steps to the front door and to the top floor. If steps are no issue this is a possible place for you.
4.8
The house, the location, the neighborhood are all top notch. The only concern I had was the steep thirteen steps to get to the front door. If you have no problem with stairs, I highly recommend this has the perfect place. But there are no pictures showing the steepness of the front of the property. Beware if you have issues.

We had a wonderful stay devils visiting DC. The house is in a great location and short drive to metro. It is very equipped with all your needs.

We stayed here for an extended weekend. There were 6 adults and 1 child. The house was clean, linens provided, and even bathroom accessories present. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy family meals. Andy was responsive and timely in all communication. We had an issue with the dishwasher and he showed up and took care of it very quickly! Overall, the house looked like the pictures. The third bedroom wasn't exactly private and the stairs up to the home were a little challenging for my dad. But we made it work and made wonderful memories!

Place was great, it just didn't have the bedroom configuration that was listed. Despite a listing that was flush with photos (pictures of the rooms, pictures of the coffee maker, pictures of hallways and room closeups, pictures of the place settings, pictures of town), there was NO photograph of one of the bedrooms only being accessible through another bedroom. Essentially making 2 of the rooms not private to each other (despite the listing saying 3 private bedrooms). This was a critical omission which would have had us booking elsewhere for the needs of our group. The property manager was going to kick us out when I complained, which would have been even worse at that point after traveling 8 hours with small children and elderly relatives who already needed to be displaced as a result of the deceptive listing.
4.8
House was clean and very comfortable. Perfect for a visit to the DC area, very centrally located.
4.8
High toilets and shower nice. Bedroom spacious. Two minor problems the number of stair to front door (seniors need to know) and the television cable not able to get normal channels.

This is a beautiful house, which easily hosted my wife and I and our two adult children. It was very clean and welcoming. Parking is on the street, but 1) it's a quiet street and 2) there were plenty of spaces available. We noted several people walking everyday, so we felt like very safe. Andrew, our host, communicated promptly.
4.8
This house was perfect for our stay in the DC area. Walking to the Masonic Temple and the Metro station were completely doable, though very hilly. We were very familiar with the area and so knew ahead of time what it would be like. The neighborhood was beautiful. Andrew made us feel welcome and was available for any questions we had.

The host was kind and let us check in about 11 am since we had a redeye flight, but when we arrived there was a worker there tearing up the back concrete patio. He was supposed to be done by 3 o’clock (regular time for checking in) but by the end of our weeklong stay in Alexandria the project was never finished! Our vacation was interrupted with details about the progress of the concrete pad replacement and reasons for why workers hadn’t shown up to finish the work. This was frustrating because we were supposed to be on vacation and not dealing with household projects! The owner gave us $100 for our trouble after we asked him to make it right, but we were not able to use the patio for the entire week! The outdoor patio and backyard was one of the main reasons we chose this VRBO and this was not even accessible until day 3 of our stay. On day 3, the owner placed a tarp over the dirt and put a table with chairs out there for us to use but there were still stacks of concrete and project materials taking up the backyard space. The barbecue and outdoor couches were not able to be used all week. We never ended up being able to use the backyard the way that it was displayed in the VRBO pictures. And we really could’ve used the patio considering the weather was beautiful and we were walking a lot each day to tour DC. The patio situation wouldn’t have been so bad if the house had a relaxing place to sit after walking 7 miles each day. The property has one chair and one aging couch that sinks in the middle which is uncomfortable and awkward for lounging with our adult-sized teens. We tried to watch one episode on Netflix and that was the last time our family spent time together in the front room trying to relax because it was just so uncomfortable. Two days when we arrived back at the property, police were present and that made us feel very uncomfortable. Finally, we were not as close to downtown Alexandria as we had hoped. We had to walk down very busy streets and cross two busy highway off-ramps. The walk is all uphill from downtown Alexandria back. Upon arrival, the property was very clean and made us feel safe in regards to staying at a VRBO during current public health concerns. Our teenagers enjoyed each having their own queen size bed. The kitchen is spacious and has a massive refrigerator. It was nice to be able to do a load of laundry when we needed to. And our teenagers found it nice to find lamps with USB and USBC ports for their electronics.

We had a very good time. Excellent location.

Great time there.
We enjoyed the venue. Was comfortable and well stocked. The owner was prompt in communicating with us. It was a little farther from the metro than we thought. Kind of a long walk back after a day in town. Would have been nice to have a book with brochures of places to go, to eat, Metro and bus and a few things about the house would have been helpful. Overall a great experience.

Our host Andrew was wonderful! He answered any & all questions we had very quickly, and told us not to hesitate if we needed anything. His property was even more spacious and gorgeous than what his beautiful pictures depicted online. We felt completely at home and secure the entire 8 days! The wifi is lighting fast anywhere inside the house and on the patio! We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to stay to enjoy our time in the DC area; nor could we have found a more gracious host! We give Andrew and his property 10 huge gold stars!

We stayed at this property for 8 nights in March 2022. It was in an excellent location to see all of the tourist sites in D.C. and attend a Marine graduation in Quantico, VA. It was very roomy, exceptionally clean, and had excellent wi-fi as 2 of us worked remotely throughout our stay. The neighborhood was great and very close to old town & downtown Alexandria which is beautiful! The property manager was very accommodating with some packages that were delivered prior to our arrival and had quick response time to any questions or concerns. The response time to receive our deposit was lacking, however, but more about that below.
Some of the issues we had with this property were:
*the upstairs shower cold water line was not working so showers were difficult as the hot water temp had to be adjusted to make the upstairs work, which made the downstairs shower colder. *TV channels that come with their subscription weren’t useable most of our stay – downstairs tv especially * we have stayed at many VRBO places in different states and this was the first time such a Large security deposit was requested. We have paid very nominal deposits from Hawaii to Florida & in between. We are usually refunded within 5 days. It has been 14 days since our departure, and we have still not received our deposit back. I had to contact the VRBO customer service to have them initiate my refund; it will be another 5-7 days. We booked months before March. This just seems really odd and a little fishy that a property manager requests such as large deposit for a 1600 sq ft home and doesn’t return the deposit timely. Very disappointed with this. *because this is an older home, more attention needs to be given to things like the kitchen faucet which doesn’t always turn off and the AC system was difficult since the zoning isn’t set up like a typical home.
Some of the issues others might have with this property are:
*owner has a Ring doorbell at front door – which monitors every entry and exit of the property. If I was staying there alone, I would not feel safe or comfortable with this at all
* property manager comes to remove trash from backyard to front yard once a week, without any notification to tenants
*entrance to home has a very steep stairway from street to front door *backyard privacy is lacking as it has a tall apartment complex looking down on the property *skylights in in top floor bedroom makes it difficult to sleep as well as the loud sounds from the nearby freeway
