Everything went great. The hostess met us at night, bought groceries so that we could eat at night, the house looks like a fairy tale, it is cozy and has everything you need, the kitchen is equipped, the place is amazing, safe, mountain views, birds sing in the morning. Excellent price. I lived right next to my sister's house, an amazing coincidence. I am very grateful to the hosts for their friendliness and kindness. I recommend to everyone!!!

Quirky, pretty setting, everything we needed to hand. Helpful, unobtrusive host.
Nothing

Unfortunately the GOOGLE map shows the house on an improper place.

It is a lovely home, very calm, full of charm and fully furnished. We especially loved the balcony.
The location was great to go to any place on the island.
Our hosts were very thoughtful with some gifts upon our arrival and a lot of explanation about the house and what we could do. We would definitely stay there again.
Nothing.

The host was very friendly and easy to reach via WhatsApp. She even supplied us with toys and books for our 4-year old! The house is tiny but amazingly well equipped with everything you will need. Santa Brigida has a great atmosphere and the market supplied us with all we needed.
It is good to know that you will need to use the fireplace to heat the house in the colder months.

Beautiful location. Old style Canarian cottage with rich character. Excellent location for exploring the northern part of Gran Canaria. Lovely hosts living on site - V helpful.
Bearing in mind this was January (in the middle of the calima), the property was slightly cold & damp & almost permanently out of the sun (shady side of the valley). BUT .... It would be lovely & cool when the temperatures rise above 20 deg.

Quiet place, typical canarian house with lovely owners. nearby the heart of Sta Brigida.
Keep in mind that the door height is not standard at all - I am 1m90 and I can say that my neck and forehead will remember this sweet house :-)

House was full of original features and historic charm, set in a very pretty collection of buildings with well maintained and landscaped garden. The house was well equipped and everything worked. The hosts were very helpful and responsive to requests, discreet and friendly. The location is quiet and with easy access to both the coast and the mountains. Santa Brigida is nice town with good shops and facilities. Local food produce is of excellent quality.
The house was cold in November, as a consequence of altitude and that the site gets little sun. It needs more controllable heating. It has a woodburner, but this requires too much work in our opinion, is centred in one room, and not controllable.
Ceiling height can be a problem when navigating the rooms and requires care by taller people.
The area is not touristy, but this has the consequence that restaurants open later in the evening (except at the weekends) than might suit those who like to eat earlier than 8pm.

the house was perfect. More enchanting in real life that on the photos! There is even an ornate, panelled turret attic space. Very cute. I love old buildings like this. The kids loved it, and we looked forward to coming home every day. It was like being transported back in time, or living in a museum piece like a local from times gone by. The house is within a compound with a few other buildings (including the residence of the hosts) and it was like being in a postcard. We kept taking photos of the place.
The location was fantastic for us (we had a car) because the surrounding area is some of the prettiest on the island, green, beautiful gardens, quickly up into the mountains and back roads but also not far from the capital, the motorways to get to other parts of the island, and more.
But best of all, Ilka and Dirk were wonderful, attentive, friendly hosts and the house was set up completely with everything we needed. Many little details that show they love hosting visitors. It was spotless and Ilka even offered to buy us some essentials from the supermarket as we were arriving late so we could relax and have a great breakfast the next day. A lovely touch that made us feel very welcome.
Im fairly tall (185cm/6ft 1) and I had to bend down when moving around in the house, it was like being on a boat, squeezing past each other on the squeaky old stairs. or in a hobbit house. but that was part of the charm for me!
