WHO IS DOUGLAS MODERN VILLA NOT A GOOD FIT FOR?
- Parties or events: Our homes are in quiet, residential neighborhoods. If you are planning a party or event, our homes are not a good fit. We do not have parking or space for large gatherings and greatly value good relations with our neighbors.
- Groups with pets. Several of our regular guests have severe allergies, so we are unable to accommodate pets of any kind.
- Groups where the principal renter is under 30 years old. The principal renter must be 30 years or older and present during the stay.
- Groups that wish to smoke inside the house. Smoking is allowed outside only.
- If you are a large group of unrelated singles, and are not part of a corporate retreat, we may or may not be a good fit. Please reach out in advance prior to booking if you are in this situation.
- A rental agreement is required to rent these properties. Note that cameras are present outside the house, and noise monitoring devices (privacy compliant) are present inside and outside the house.
RATES
- Nightly Rates are $300 - $1500 per night, 2-night minimum, holidays/peak may have higher rates
- Weekly rates are between $2,500 - $10,500 per week depending on the time of year. Inquire about low season weekly specials (between November and April) for the best weekly rates.
- To confirm your reservation, 50% of rental fees and a signed short-rental agreement must be received within 48 hours of booking; balance of rental fees and security deposit are due within 60 days of check-in.
HOUSE RULES
- No pets allowed of any kind. NO EXCEPTIONS, some of our regular guests have severe pet allergies. A minimum $500 deep cleaning fee will be assessed if pets are found to be present on the property
- No smoking inside the house
- No parties or events. Note that cameras are present outside the house, and noise monitoring devices (privacy complaint) are present inside and outside the house. Hosting a party shall be grounds for immediate eviction, with no refund.

The house is in a great location, you can walk to downtown Douglas, a short drive to Saugatuck and Holland - and several beaches. The open kitchen, dining and living space were great for our group and the backyard is lovely! We cooked several meals and the well stocked kitchen was appreciated!

Property was just as described. It was very well stocked with everything you may need. Loved the walking distance to downtown Douglas as well as a public fishing spot for my son. Only two negatives were the outside of the house/sitting area upstairs/windows were pretty dirty. Needs a good power wash. Also has an issue with the main TV upstairs and it was not fixed during our stay even though we asked for it to be.

Was a friends get-together with 5 couples. The place was clean, modern and we enjoyed the time in Douglas and Saugatuck thoroughly. Downtown Douglas is steps away from the house. We were able to view the lake across the house from the living room and the terrace. Will come again if Alex has availability of the home, as the drive from Detroit is easy. Alex was a great host and all the information left was easy to follow.

We had a fairly large group and the house was the perfect size to fit everyone comfortably and then some. There are a lot of amenities at the house itself and just a short walk or drive from local shops, coffee, & restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay!

This was a perfect setting for a 2-day executive retreat with rooms for each member and great space and lighting for long meetings. The nearby restaurants provided a much needed break from the long focused days of planning and vision casting. The property is beautifully maintained with a spectacular view of the lake.

My family stayed at this property for a family event. Ages ranged from 30-85 and everyone enjoyed the property and made memories around the large breakfast table. Organized to perfection, check in was thorough, check out follow up was timely and everyone enjoyed the game tables in the lower level.

One word to describe the house is ABUNDANCE. Lots of space for our group . Lots of items in every room. You name it and you will have it . And on top of all these, lot of info available in every place of the house . You don’t have to open each cupboard to see what’s in there. You don’t have to try which switch is for which light .
And Alex will be checking on us to make sure we are doing good . That’s the gesture of a responsible property owner .

Wonderful home that comfortably housed 14 adults for a weekend. Located in Douglas MI - you could walk to restaurants and shopping. The home had everything we needed for our vacation. Loved the rooftop patio and the private backyard patio with fire pit. Host was very communicative with check in and out process. Very modern and sleek home!

This property is absolutely stunning. Everything was so clean and organized, even the kitchen cupboards had labels on them, so that we could easily find everything. It was really nice having the laundry machine with provided detergent and fabric softener. It is about a 20 minute walk to downtown Saugatuck, which was really nice- they had lots of shops and restaurants. The bathrooms has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We loved the downstairs area with a pool table and foosball table. The outside area was great with lots of chairs for seating and a barbecue and grill. Alex was in communication with us before and during our stay, which was really helpful. We hope to stay here again.

Enjoyed the stay here but stayed during the off season to be close to a house we are building across the street from here (so not your typical customer). It is a rather large place (probably too much for just one couple) but it is clean and modern, and the owner communicates very well and the check-in/check-out process is/was very smooth/straightforward. Best part of this place is the location, the wonderful large TV in the living room, and the upstairs deck. Internet has good speed, good water pressure for the shower we used and we enjoyed using the coffee maker.
Things to improve on:
-Probably best to get an ice machine, to make it easier to dispense and use ice, the trays and what was provided weren't in the best shape.
-The fitted sheets for the king size bed were small and were coming off too easily. Probably just need to get better sheets that fit.
-Would love to have had a fireplace, but I did see you had a firepit outside which was fine.

Our family enjoyed a winter weekend getaway at the Douglas Modern Villa! The home was clean and spacious and had an amazing kitchen that was well stocked! So many great things about this home!

The pictures didn’t do justice for this beautiful property! My family and I fell in love the moment we saw the house. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you thought you may need for preparing a family meal. The set up of the bedrooms and bathrooms perfectly accommodated me and family. The neighborhood was peaceful. Although it was cold out we went for walk to sightsee in the downtown area. Most of the business were closed until March due to the winter season. So we took advantage of enjoying the each others company playing pool, darts and board games in the house and cooking on the grill.

Everything necessary for cooking, cleaning, sleeping are provided. Couldn’t have asked for more for a family Christmas celebration weekend that included a 93 year old and 2 toddlers. We even got snow! Which was perfect.

What a perfect place for a college reunion! Our group of 9 women have known each other for nearly 50 years- needless to say we are all senioragers. The Douglas Villa fit everyone’s needs (especially the 4 1/2 bathrooms).
The second day it rained and the game room kept us entertained- never a dull moment.

Home is incredible. Perfect for a big group, especially those who appreciate a huge very well stocked kitchen. The label on all the drawers and cabinet doors is a great idea. Location is perfect, about 100 yards to downtown Douglas and a great view of the river.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. The property is modern with spaces inside and out for groups to gather and enjoy themselves. We enjoyed the opportunities to walk around Douglas and visit the stores and gardens.

Three generations of our family enjoyed this beautiful home for a week in July. There was plenty of room for 13 of us, and we utilized many of the amenities, including both grills and the beautiful backyard space. The house is in an ideal location, a block from downtown Douglas and 5 minute drive to Saugatuck, Oval Beach, etc. Communication with the property manager was excellent, and there were many thoughtful touches that made it an ideal rental. We cooked many meals in the large kitchen, and appreciated the well-stocked tools, plentiful silverware, dishes and glassware, and double dishwashers. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent this home again!

Wonderfully stocked home
This is the most well-stocked home we have ever stayed in. Communication with Chris was outstanding. The home felt spacious and there were so many areas for enjoying the home. There’s a great view of the lake from the roof seating area, backyard was fun for the little ones to run around safely, and the very long table, although not used for meals, it was a great place for playing games. Everything is labeled and easy to find. We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a awesome time at this place. Great house, exactly as described and pictured if not better. Great location steps from Douglass downtime. We also walked to saugatuck, thought a mingle longer, the walk is beautiful. I can’t think of anything negative.

Beautiful, Clean and Well-Stocked Property
We (a group of 2 families) stayed at this property. The property appeared just as represented in the listing pictures. We really appreciated the two master bedrooms and there was plenty of room for our group to spread out. The property was exceptionally clean when arrived and you can tell the owners have taken good care of the property.
The kitchen was very well-stocked with every cooking implement and utensil you might need to prepare meals. There was also an additional fridge/freezer in the garage if you need additional space for refrigerated items. There was plenty of dining space in the kitchen for our entire group to eat together. The home stayed at a comfortable temperature in the summer heat and the WiFi worked well.
The property owners communicated the check-in process early and in appropriate detail. The owners responded quickly to any questions we had during our stay. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Douglas / Saugatuck area of Michigan.
