This home is so beautiful. Modern amenities in the bathrooms and kitchen but the preserved charm of an historic house!!! Beautiful decor throughout the house!!! The wrap around front porch was just lovely to sit on!! The first day there was an AC issue upstairs but the hosts were there immediately to remedy the problem. It’s located on a quiet street but close enough to walk to the downtown area to explore! I only live 30 miles from this location but will be booking again for future events that bring me to St Mary’s!!!

We found the place where the cannonball hit! We had help from the owner of course but nonetheless it was a great topic of conversation!
My daughter lives nearby and I dearly love St. Mary’s so why not make a vacation of it and get to visit her and her family right?
Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is so convenient! The girls ages 4 and 5 had a blast checking out all the hiding places and the adults enjoyed the wide open spaces for conversations while the cooking was going on.
Convenient to Cottle and Gunn (a must visit ) and everything else this house was awesome for our annual trip!
We enjoyed our time at the Cannonball House!

The property manager was easy to work with and answered all of our questions promptly.
We will definitely stay in this beautiful home when we visit St. Mary's again.

We chose to stay in the historical part of St. Mary’s. Our first visit there. Staying at the Cannon Ball house was extra special. It clearly is an older historic house- as is the entire historic area- but very clean, well air conditioned with fans in every room, comfortable beds.. plenty of room.

The home is located in a quaint neighborhood. I felt safe walking in the evening. Easy walk to the river and a small park. The home is historic and spacious. We had plenty of room to allow everyone to have space. I found the bed to be comfortable. Plenty of dishes for cooking and extra items needed such as the occasional band aid. Quick response to any questions.

We all love historic homes so were very excited to find "The Cannonball House" to ring in New Years 2023. We wanted to attend the Fernandina Beach "Shrimp Drop" but didn't want to overpay for inferior hotel rooms there. We wanted easy access to Amelia Island and St Simons in a quaint area. St Marys definitely fit the bill. The house was perfectly situated within walking distance to the beautiful downtown area. The Cumberland Island Ferry was so close and we enjoyed a lovely day there visiting the National Seashore, the ruins and the feral horses. We highly recommend this home and the area for your next getaway.

St. Mary's was such a special little town to stay in and being able to come "home" to the Cannon Ball house at the end of each day only made it that much better. The house was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. It was perfectly located within walking distance of everything we could need or want. We'll definitely return!

Charming
Our stay at Cannonball House was amazing! The accommodations were just as wonderful, if not more, as it was depicted on the VRBO website. Great location, so close to historic St Marys! We walked to town daily. The purpose of our trip was to see if this is where we want to retire. It is definitely #1 on our list :)

What a lovely place!
My husband and I and our pups, along with two friends stayed here to be near a wedding over the weekend. The owners were wonderful in communicating before and during our stay. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed from a well stocked kitchen to plenty of fresh linens. We loved the location being so near “downtown” St. Mary’s (very small but quaint) and the neighborhood was wonderful to take walks in. But the best part was spending mornings and evenings on the expansive porch!
I would recommend this home to anyone. You won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful well kept 200 year old historic home. There was nothing more we needed, the house was equipped will all the essentials plus more. This was not our first trip to St Mary's, but was the first time renting this home. The next trip to St Mary's we will definitely rent this home again.

Great Family Retreat
We were in St Mary's for a family wedding and found the Canonball House to be the perfect place for our stay. Lots of space, clean, cheerful and the location is perfect. The porch is a wonderful place to unwind and breathe. It's a home with a rich history and alot of charm. It is a quick walk to the Riverfront, some shops, restaurants and quaint bars. The owners are quick to respond and made the whole process so easy. We loved this house!

Family time
Everything was clean and as described. Plenty of room for everyone to move about. We spent most of our time at our sons house so we didn’t cook or eat at the house other than coffee and cocoa, but it appeared to have everything necessary for cooking. We hope to come back and spend some time around a fire in the back yard.

St. Mary’s Getaway
Unique historical home with modern touches to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily chaos and stress. It’s very convenient and within walking distance to much of historical downtown St. Mary’s. The house was very clean and spacious and communication with the owners was a breeze. They responded to any questions in a very timely way.

Paradise in South Georgia
If you are a history buff, or just want to get away and relax, this is the perfect place. A very lovely decorated house with lots of room. I owners responded to questions within minutes, and shared lots of information. St Mary's itself is like going back 30-40 years in time...No rush, kids riding bikes and playing ball. active church communities and lots of dog?cat friendly people. It was a 3 block walk to the river front, parks, bookstore, ice cream and great sea food....We found everyone in town to be friendly and helpful. We had lunch and carryout from Langs, and of course cheese cake from Riverfront cafe for dessert. One of our best family trips.
I can't leave out the three sided porch for breakfast coffee, and reading.
Thanks again
