About this house rental
Come stay right in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Country. Our private 4-bedroom apartment is nestled right next door to the Finger Lakes National Forest and lies directly between the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. This is the perfect place to be if you love nature and wine! Between our local wineries, breweries, distilleries, hiking trails, and other attractions, we have something for everyone!
Our 4-bedroom apartment will make you feel like you are right at home. It is complete with a full kitchen, breakfast bar area, dining room, living room, 4 bedrooms (all on the second floor), 2 bathrooms (one on each floor), and a sun-room. The apartment is attached to our house and does share walls with our side but you will have your own private entry and driveway. You will also have shared access to our yard, pond, and fire-pit. The rental side is closest to the road (please review photos before booking).
This home was built in the 1800 and definitely has some character along with the character we have given it. Our furniture is a little mix and matched but all functional. After a day of wine-tasting, you might not even notice!
We do not have cable in the house but do provide a fire stick and you will have access to our Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts. You can also access HBO and other streaming sites if you sign into your own account.

This property was a great location for our family. It was close to hiking, wineries, Ithaca, etc. We had plenty of room to spread out which was great. Nate was extremely responsive to any of our questions. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Dated, in need of TLC
It wasn't clear that all the BR's were upstairs by the description. One of us is elderly which made it tricky. We didn't find the place exceptionally clean. There seemed to be a stale cigarette and musty odors. The AC units were very noisy. The rental is the front half of a house, and the owners are in the back half so we could hear voices, etc. There are locked doors in between the residences. The enclosed front porch was not clean enough to enjoy and the fire pit was in the owner's backyard.

My husband and I travel to the Grassroots Festival annually, along with another couple. This property has great proximity to the Festival grounds, as well as local wineries and a grocery store. Ithaca is 25 minutes away.
This rental suited us very well! Excellent air conditioning, ample kitchen for cooking. nice dining table, reliable WiFi. 2 bathrooms. Just tweak a couple of minor points and this pet -friendly gem would be five star!

The property owner needs to provide better directions to the property. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps directed us to the wrong house. Also, it is a bit misleading to identify the property as being in Trumansburg. Trumansburg is a cute little town. The property is located in the middle of nowhere. The property is very basic and not what we were expecting for a vacation rental. There is no central air and the property smells damp. The rental shares a wall with the other part of the house and the sound travels through the wall. The owners clearly tried to make things welcoming by leaving a nice note and a bottle of wine, but there is really nothing charming about the property.

Convenient location to 2 lakes and a cute downtown. We loved our stay
Spacious house, 4 comfortable bedrooms. Great kitchen and 2 bathrooms. We enjoyed the location between 2 lakes and were never too far away from restaurants and activities. Much more convenient and interesting stay than in one of the downtowns.
We were 2 families and the kids loved the house and the adults loved the space.
Nate and Kate were super accommodating including bringing us a steamer to prep for the wedding. Being very chill and supportive overall.

Fall trip
House was basic but served our needs well. Beds were very comfortable and host very attentive. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of local wine!

This was a great stay in the Finger Lakes for our whole family. There was plenty of space for everyone, including our two young children (2 and 4 years old) and our dog. Nate and Kate were very easy to communicate with before and during our trip.
Everything was extremely clean and we all felt very comfortable here (including our dog!). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the Keurig was a huge bonus!
Also, want to mention that our family really liked the location. Even though it was not on a lake, as it was in between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, we loved that we were within a 15-20 minute drive of a number of wineries and breweries. It was also a very short drive to Trumansburg, where there were restaurants and a grocery store.
Overall, this was great trip! We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Finger Lakes!

The property was conveniently located between Lake Seneca and Lake Cayuga. Several state parks were within 30 minutes drive. It was situated out in the country by a low traffic road on a sizeable lot with a fire-pit and pond. It suited the needs of a family of 5 plus a large dog just fine. Having a washer and dryer on premise was convenient. The internet was fast and several streaming services were available. Being accustomed to central AC, having the window AC units cycle did disturb normal sleep. Overall though, this was a nice place to stay.

We had a blast. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful. This location is perfectly located between Cayuga and Seneca Lake. This was a perfect way for us to experience the Finger Lakes for the first time! Thanks Kate abs Nate!

The property was clean and spacious. Advertised as air conditioned but only 2 of the bedrooms had air-conditioning. The upstairs toilet didn't flush good. They were missing a few amenities that would have made our stay easier such as paper towels, kleenex, coffee creamer, pencil and note pad. We could have brought those things with us if we'd known they weren't provided. Also little details like the night light in the hall upstairs was burned out and the clock in the living room didn't work. It said 8:30 the whole time.
Overall it was a nice place to stay. We basically just slept there. But owner could pay better attention to small details.

Great for family
We had a very nice time. We were able to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner for 8 with no problem. We had plenty of seating and room to spread out. Owners were kind enough to start the fire for us so we could roast marshmallows! The bottle of wine was very kind and much appreciated. Owners were very responsive to all questions and concerns. And were willing to work with us on our check in. Only three minor inconveniences, 1)bedroom door wouldn't close so we had to use a bag to hold it shut not a big deal 2) the clothes washer didn't work, again not life ending but would have been nice to wash the mud out from playing in the backyard before it set and 3) the upstairs bathroom light kept shorting out. We were able to use a flashlight on a phone so again not a huge deal. Overall we enjoyed the area (cute town/beautiful scenery) and the house and would re-book if we return to Trumansburg or surrounding Ithaca area.

Great Location and Owner Experience
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Wine Trail Apartment. Everything about our stay reflected the charms of the Finger Lakes -- cozy, friendly, picturesque. The owners were super nice and responsive and even left us a sweet note, food and water bowls for our dog, and a bottle of wine to enjoy upon arrival. The location was perfect for the hiking and wineries we wanted to visit (the gorge trail at Taughannock Park are a must see!), and we fell in love with the town of Trumansburg. We were sad to leave but hope to return soon!

The place was perfect for housing my family! Clean, easy, and affordable
The place had what we needed and they even supplied wood for their fire pit out back! The views at the night sky are most definitely priceless. It was a perfect fit for what my family and I were looking while exploring the wine trails and just overall relaxing!
