This is our 2nd year to rent this lovely home. It is so spacious and enough room for our family. A well equiped kitchen, and plenty of seating for us to eat and play table games. Comfy beds. There are areas to sit and read or sit on the porch or do a puzzle. The piano is a plus. Lots of inside activitties, pool, pingpong, air hockey table for the kids if the weather is not favorable. An easy walk to the beach, great bike path nearby, frisbee golf, and hot tub.

House is beautiful, kitchen was great and the porch was amazing!! One of the best places we’ve stayed to host a family reunion. Plus, it’s walking distance to our favorite lake. Thank you!!
10.0 / 10.0
Seven families had a great week-long reunion. A picture on Houzz shows the lower level bedroom has a door to the outside; bikes and other gear can come in and out without having to navigate stairs! From our 3-year-old to our 75-year-old, we loved using the ping-pong table. We couldn't find the cornhole (nor the hammock), but we found an unexpected bocce ball set! The overstuffed chairs near the pool table were worn and superfluous; the oversized bean bag chair got a lot more use. On the back lawn we played our croquet set and enjoyed the hot tub. We took the beach wagon to the beach, which was delightful. The clothes washer was out of order. The bedroom on the lower level has no closet, nor any place to hang clothes, so we used the mudroom coat hooks. We enjoyed dining on the wrap-around porch, using two large tables. However, the door from the kitchen to the porch is hard to open and close, so going back for seconds was tedious. Reviews mentioning that door date back to 2021. The piano is in better shape than we expected; thanks, Margaret, for getting it in shape! The coffee table in the upper section of the first floor was great for jigsaw puzzles. Our young kid's favorite area was the living room on the second floor; they reconfigured the couch cushions as houses, a bank, and a "marketplace". Despite adjusting the thermostats, the second floor was too warm and the lower level was too cool. These quibbles aside, we loved Casa Blanca and will seriously consider returning.

We had a great trip to Miller Beach. Margaret’s house was as described. Lots of board games, plus pool, ping pong and air hockey were great for the kids. Check in was easy and her communication was quick.

Margaret's home was SO beautiful and comfortable for my family - there were 10 of us ranging in ages from 3 to 76! My husband and I enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch, listening to the birds and watching the deer stroll by. Our two families from Texas and Virginia met in Miller Beach to explore Indiana Dunes National Park. The park and the beaches are stunning. The home was a great location for these activities.
We were not too familiar with the Gary, Indiana area living so far away, and admittingly were a little worried as we were just a couple miles away from the house and the surrounding area looked a bit abandoned. Once we got to the home and explored the neighborhood, we felt safe and right at home. We did have to drive to Merrillville (25 mins away) to find a more robust grocery store, which wasn't a huge deal.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay! Thanks for the hospitality Margaret!

My family stayed her during a swimmeet for my daughter in nearby Hobart. It served as a perfect home base. The host was super helpful during check-in and the house was immaculate. We’d definitely stay here again!

The property was wonderful. We loved the main living area where we could all gather for visiting, cooking, eating, play games, etc. and have plenty of room for all 9 of us and a baby and dog. Had great amenities which we didn’t get around to using. Had everything on the kitchen you might need and more. All was clean, well kept and great outdoor areas which we would have enjoyed if the weather had cooperated. Will definitely keep this in mind for a future get together.

We enjoyed our stay so much in 2022, that we came back in 2023 for Thanksgiving gathering of extended family. Love the quiet location near the beach of Lake Michigan and Chicago skyline views from the nearby park

This place was beautiful; exceptionally clean and very spacious for a family of 11. The pool table, ping pong and air hockey was an added benefit. We liked that each level had it's own area to hang out. The kitchen was well supplied and lots of seating. The yard is beautiful. It was an easy walk to the beach and to the bike/walking path near the park. Our family voted this their favorite Labor Day place to stay to date. The owner was very prompt in answering questions.

This house had plenty of room for our family reunion. There are several large common spaces, ample dining room and kitchen space, and having two master suites and two bunk rooms was ideal. Close to a lot of great beaches. Had a minor issue with water coming under a door after a heavy storm, but the owners were very responsive and addressed it immediately. We enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Open floor plan kitchen perfect for hosting with three levels to spread out families/groups. 5 minute walk to the smooth, sandy, lakeside beach. Host communicates well and house is as pictured. End of July to beginning of August felt almost private at the beach during the week.

We were a group of 6 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 1-8. There was something for everyone here and you can’t beat the closeness to the beach which we found to be mostly clean and a great place to hang out with the kids. The house was even bigger than we had imagined from photos and everyone had their own space. Adults and babies stayed mostly on the main floor and deck. The kids booped around between the air hockey table upstairs and the ping pong/tv space downstairs. Communication with the owner was great. She was helpful and quick to respond. The only issue we ran into was that there was more sand underfoot in the house than we would’ve liked. We had a hard time locating a broom but Margaret didn’t stop trying to help us find it. It was eventually located in a locked garage which was a mistake made by the cleaning company. Had we had access to the broom earlier we could’ve swept up the extra sand and food remnants left by our kids. The day before we left margaret ended up coming by and getting the broom out for us which was very nice of her to do. It is a beautiful property, close to the beach. We were nervous about what the area would be like since it’s in Gary but we had no issues. We mostly stayed at the house or walked to the beach. Thanks for a great stay!

The house was perfect for my 7 grandchildren and their parents. There were plenty of common areas for the adults and the children to play games or just relax to watch movies. Unfortunately, the hot tub did not work while we were there. Other than that it was a great time at the beach house!

This was a fantastic place for our extended family to be together (grandparents, adult children and 4 children).
There is plenty of room and lots to do in the home. Additionally, having extra beach towels available and a wagon designed to go in the sand was a huge plus pulling two 3 years olds and a 1 year old. The kitchen was amazing and since most of our meals were together in the home, it made prep and eating together work very well.
The proximity to the beach was great and we often walked there several times a day.
I would highly recommend this home as a wonderful place to stay!

Loved the house, it was great for a family stay! Kids had a blast with all the amenities. Wish the sprinklers didn't go off Sunday morning, made the yard unusable for most of the day.

The house was well stocked and very close to the beach and Marquette park. The hot tub was a hit and we loved all of the different hang out areas. The host was also very responsive. Highly recommend!

The home is very well built. The beds are comfortable. Plenty of great space. Would consider again next year if below addressed.
Time for an update and maintenance. There are concerns: " minimally"clean, not certain the duvets were changed, plumbing / drain problems, down draft chimney causing inside smoke , unstable dining table, smoke alarm chirpping, missing sets of towels ( 10 bath 4 hand 7 washcloths). Advertised as seating for10 but only 8 chairs. Patio door has gap allowing cold air to breeze through. These are all fixable and the property manager should make frequent walk throughs to evaluate conditions. Took 5 messages, over 36 hours to get owners to respond.
Once connected with owner? (ESL) hot tub heater was fixed but unable to safely use because the filters were clogged.
We usually camp so very able to go with the flow which we did. The space was worth it but I don't feel it was a bargain

Plenty of room for our Christmas gathering. Fun playing ping pong and pool. Did several puzzles as family. Great place to gather with large group.

We are siblings with spouses who get together in the Fall that's in approximate same driving distance from where all of us live. Miller Beach fit that criterion and had 5 bedrooms/5 baths. Margaret, manager, and partner were most responsive for any needs we had...such as locking ourselves out once. House was comfortable and kitchen had updated appliances and seating area for all of us at large table immediately adjacent to table. An island in the kitchen allowed for all the goodies we bring to share. Bedrooms were comfortable with a few bathrooms adjacent and not in bedroom itself. There were stairs which can be a consideration when older.
When we arrived patio area was not as clean as expected.
Location to Lake Michigan and Marquette Park were most excellent...within two blocks. Some of us walked there (some drove) and we watched a sunset one evening. The best!
Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would return.

great for our family group of 11. Had everything we needed. Warm. inviting. New construction. Margaret and Amy were great. 3 TVs, air hockey, pool table, games, books, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, propane gas on deck. Everyone loved it !

It is tough to find a comfortable place to get together with a very big family, but this place was awesome. Beach and playgrounds just a few minutes walk away. Backyard space. Giant kitchen and laundry - crucial with this many people and kids.

Our family of 15 enjoyed being together in Casa Blanca in Miller Beach. We had plenty of space to spread out both inside and out. The beach and a playground were in walking distance.

Perfect spot for a family summer vacation
We had a wonderful time in Margaret’s beautiful home! We were a mixed age group of my grown kids and grandkids. Everyone loved the game areas .and large yard . Lots of games were played inside and out. The hot tub was great and got plenty of use. We had several bonfires in the fire pit . Plenty of bedrooms and lovely bathrooms made sharing enjoyable. The kitchen was wonderful, beautiful appliances and lots of topline cooking utensils There is plenty of room to spread out or gather together The beach is a easy walk along a paved walkway . A big wagon made bringing chairs and umbrellas easy The beach is gorgeous and at this point the lake is shallow and sandy with no rocks. The beach has Life guards and is very clean and never crowded. A snack shop and public washrooms were open sporadically ( I’m sure Covid has made staffing it difficult ) Being right by Marquette park was wonderful for hiking and bike riding ! The one minor concern is the house is on a busy street ( no noise problem ) just when walking to the beach there is a small section where there is no sidewalk
and the cars go by fast so kids need to be supervised and adults need to pay attention In summary we take a Lake Michigan family vacation every year and we have stayed in many places along the coast, from South Haven down to Miller Beach. Casa Blanca is one of the best!

Wedding Perfect
Selected and used to attend a local wedding. Perfect size for extended family including multiple levels to have hair and make-up for the wedding party. Nice big kitchen with adequate wares. Area is a little iffy but the location of the house seemed safe enough.
Would definitely stay again!

Our Stay
Very nice property and grounds! Kitchen was spacious with many upgrades and was well stocked. Bathroom showers were superb! Issues that can be easily addressed are 1) providing instructions for TV use; 2) cleaning the area rugs; 3) checking and replacing all light bulbs; and 4) making sure front door knob is working properly.

Great space
This house is very nice and all the spaces are comfortable. The layout is perfect for a large group. We ra into a coke of minor issues, but I reached out the owner and she replied right been and resolved the issues. The only thing I would suggest is better pillows. Other then that the whole family loved our stay here.

Close to beach, plenty of space
We stayed for a week in August for a family reunion. We flew in from Boston and family drove down from WI. It was <45min. from Midway airport & 35 min. to the Museum of Science and Industry. Very convenient for day trips to Chicago.

Great place for multi family group
This was a great house for our family vacation - nicely furnished with several areas to gather and/or play, a lovely kitchen & dining area. All beautifully furnished and comfortable. The beautiful beach (our main Interest) is just a short walk away. Marquette Park, nearby, has a fun playground for the kids. Some of the neighboring houses are a little iffy…this house is the nicest in the neighborhood by far. We had a great time here!

A lovely house close to the Indiana Dunes
This is a beautiful house so close to several nice beaches and the Dunes. We loved the layout, and there was plenty of space for the 13 of us. We loved the outdoor grill, pool table, the TV set ups, hot tub and the air hockey table. Do much indoor entertainment. One suggestion would be to have a few more or better ladles/cooking apparatus/can openers etc.. But we had plenty of cutlery, plates, towels etc. The property manager Magaret was super responsive and worked with us through some of our special requests. We had an amazing time. Thanks!!
