Beautiful house and very clean! We were there for a family vacation and ranged in age from 4-73. Great room downstairs for 3 young boys with parents in the room next door. We were glad they had their own TV in their rooms since ours was open to the main floor TV. It was a wonderful location for fishing, hiking and visiting the stores in Davis and Thomas. Very peaceful sitting on the deck.

We only stayed one night for a short getaway but the house was perfect for us and had cute, fun decor! Thanks for a great stay!

This is an awesome cabin that feels tucked up in the backwoods of West Virginia, but is close to just about everything you would need.
It was a great home base for our adventures in and around Davis.

Great place, the multiple levels keep kids at a distance while adults enjoy the main level views and Fireplace. Each couple claimed one of the four full bathrooms for their convenience. Thanks for the stay.

My sisters and I brought our families to enjoy a weekend out of the city & to go sledding. The house was great. Grace, the host, was attentive and helpful. We all loved the house with its amazing views tucked into the woods. We also enjoyed the town & sledding was fun. Great time & we want to return to see it in the summer and fall!

We had a wonderful stay. The house and location was perfect!!! Looking forward to our next stay!!!

Very nice, owner was very pleasant and everyone had a great time. Great for kids

Was a great place with lots of household supplies, the owners responded quickly to questions. Very cozy and a spot that was close to many hiking trails.
4.9
The location was easy to find, access was straightforward to the neighborhood and the house, and the location was convenient for day hikes. The place was roomy and the views from the living area were beautiful w/o the leaves. Check in and out was a breeze.
The clarity of listing improved IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. Be sure you take careful note of the dog policy. The cleanliness and repair of the house did not meet our expectations. For example, the kitchen shelves were dirty, downstairs BR walls and rug were filthy, some decor were dusty and even greasy, there was evidence of water damage on the ceiling/walls and mold on upper BR floor. The king and queen beds were not very comfortable. This is consistent with general inside and outside upkeep of the property.
Future renters: There is a small, well used grill-no charcoal; there is no place to hang clothes in the BRs - closets are locked save one; kitchen has limited spices/everyday items (eg no coffee, filters, oil, salt, sugar, wrap, etc); the surveillance camera at the entrance is especially creepy; limited TP-1 small roll of PT-1 trash bag. Amended listing NOW shows only “starter” amounts provided. Other than bar/dish soap bring ALL other personal products.
There are many similar cute, and spacious houses in this area. The condition of this property and the interaction with this PM did not make us feel especially welcomed. Having experienced many VRBO and other rentals, I would not choose to stay at this home again.

We love the tree house, our second time visiting. The house is lovely, great view, and is spotless. I love the hot tub and the mountain view from the living room and kitchen.
The house has a spacious deck and is very secluded. We were able to burn some firewood at the fireplace.
Great location, just a few minutes to major attractions and restaurants.
If you want a mountain experience I highly recommend you stay here.
One of our favorites.

The property was wonderful! We did have an issue with the main floor bathroom where after the new flooring was laid, a seal was not put around the toilet. Sadly, this caused water damage to the ceiling in the bathroom directly below the main bath. Pieces of the ceiling fell off in the downstairs bath. The biggest issue was having a plumber come out while we were staying. The plumber was supposed to come at 9am but didn't arrive until 1pm (this ruined our morning). Then, the plumber was supposed to return after we checked out on Saturday, but he was instructed to come during our stay. Another morning that put us behind.
Otherwise, Grace was a wonderful host, the property was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked with all the needs to cook and have meals "at home".
We would definitely recommend the property.

The original house that we rented had water issues within a couple of hours of our arrival. We had no water! Grace Kimball was on top of the issues as soon as I contacted her. She was able to move us to another property the next morning and we were very grateful. It turned out to be a good fit for us and enjoyed our stay. Grace was very good in resolving the issue.

Great location with lots to do with a family of most ages! Keep in mind this property sits very high up a mountain and there is no flat space to walk a baby or toddlers around in a stroller or wagon without driving somewhere else. We also had to baby proof several areas in the house from our very active 17-month-old twin boys, this does not reflect on the owners or the listing, just a note for those traveling with toddlers to bring gates, etc. as there are several sets of stairs and a fireplace with glass doors (which we used and enjoyed when the twins went to bed!).
The bedroom set up is a little confusing as written in the listing. The main floor (walking in from front door) contains the living, dining, kitchen areas, with access to a deck with a nice size outside wrought iron dining space with an umbrella; bathroom has a stall shower.
Down two flights of stairs are another bathroom with a tub shower, a bedroom with twin beds, a bedroom with a double bed but THROUGH this bedroom is the room with the two sets of bunk beds & another bathroom with stall shower. We had enough room in the bunk room for two pack-n-play cribs; all have access to the deck with hot tub.
Up two flights of steps from main floor are a bathroom & loft bedroom w/double bed, looking out over the living room. The 5th bedroom is up a very narrow spiral staircase above the above the loft space with a futon and a mattress on the floor, also a small sink; surrounded by 360° of windows like a crow's nest.

The Tree House is amazing, and perfect for hosting a group. Perched up on the hill and surrounded by the woods, we felt a great sense of privacy and serenity out on the porch - we lounged there every morning as we planned our days, and relaxed again outside as the day waned. Summer just outside Canaan Valley is marvelous - we happily escaped the heat!
Very comfortable accommodations, and easily fit our group of 11. The kitchen was well-appointed with quality implements, so we never lacked for what we needed to make great meals together.
The owner was very clear in the entry process, and helpful with questions as we arrived.
10/10 - will definitely look to stay here again!

Our group had an amazing time! We had 5 adults and 3 children, completely enough room to spread out in the Tree House. Every morning drinking coffee on the lower level deck I had a Mama Doe and her 2 twins come out from under house and eat leaves within feet from me. The Blackwater Falls are breathtaking! The Dolly Sods was Beautiful, the drive up there was a little intense! Grace was a superb host! Sent all the must sees. Grace responded within minutes to are questions! We drove to Morgantown to do some shopping and found the best bar/restaurant ( lil hole in the wall ) called Mario’s Fish Bowl, great atmosphere, great service and Yuengling on tap.. All in all a great family vacation!

House was great to host two sets of parents and 4 kids :)
lots of space to spread out and sleep. Kitchen handled all of our cooking needs, and nice deck to gather on and relax.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse, waking in the treetops and excursions to Blackwater Falls, chairlift rides at Canaan, and a trip out of Elkins on the Tygart Valley Flyer. The house was clean and well-equipped, and Grace was responsive to our questions. There was comfortable gathering space for movies and conversation, and the table seats 8, with additional bar seating and plenty of stools and folding chairs, as well as dining space on the deck.
Room arrangements, for those like us trying to figure it out from the listing: There's an awesome Crow's Nest up a narrow spiral staircase that isn't featured in the photos–windows all around and floating in the treetops. It has a double and a single futon, perfect for kids. It shares a bathroom with the Loft Bedroom: queen bed, skylights, very comfortable, open to the living area below with visual privacy but little sound/light privacy. On the main floor, there's a full bathroom. The other three bedrooms are on the bottom floor of the house. The Bunk Room has two bunks, one with a (full?) bed underneath so the room could sleep five. It has its own bathroom. However, the only indoor access from the Bunk Room to the rest of the house is through the Queen Room, so take that into account. All the downstairs rooms have outdoor deck access. The Queen Room adjoins another bathroom, which is shared with the remaining room, that has two Twin Beds.
Great stay!

The home worked well for our 3 generation family of 11; loft worked well for two young men and the downstairs bedroom for our girls. And 3 bedrooms for the couples. The bedrooms all require steps, which could be important if anyone has a problem with steps. The housekeeping does a great job, the home was spotless.

Stayed here in the spring for my husbands 30th and it was amazing! Davis is a cute little town but has a ton to do! We hiked, drank at the local breweries and then winded down in the hot tub! Beautiful views and lots of room.

Beautiful location and setting, the house was amazing and many things to do within a short distance. Will definitely be back

Great location if you are looking to get away from a busy life and seeking quiet. Short drive to Davis, where there are several local restaurants. We picked up a WalMart order on the way and made most of our own food but enjoyed a meal from Hellbender's Burritos - delicious and the burritos are HUGE. They also have burrito bowls for those on a low carb/GF diet. Many local hiking options within 30-minutes! Our family enjoyed the hiking and breath-taking views! If you enjoy nature, this place is for you! Definitely need 4-wheel drive if going with any risk of icy/slippery roads as the drive up to the home is a bit steep. Our Transit made it up in normal conditions! Note, the bunk room is only accessed through the downstairs bedroom that has a queen bed, there is a door for privacy. We were not aware of this until we arrived. The bunk room does have its own bathroom with shower stall, and there is an additional bathroom in the basement for the other two rooms (one with two twins and other with queen) down there. Great home for a large family or shared by two families.
Home owner was responsive and helpful with suggestions!

We enjoyed our stay at The Tree House. The house worked well for our group. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The location was close to town and to the ski resorts. 4WD is definitely needed to get to the property.

A beautiful house tucked halfway up the mountain with great wintertime views, and plenty of space. Steep road leading up to the house is worth it!

You can fall in love with snowfall over and over again!!!

Grace was an amazing host and the house was cozy and warm. We will return for sure.

Highly recommend. Owner was very responsive and her communication was great. The property was amazing. It was clean and had everything we needed to relax. The area had plenty of biking, hiking, and running trails for our group. We stayed in November. Please note the neighborhood access road managed by the association was very steep and unkept. Driving it was a bit unnerving. We had 2 trucks and 1 car and did fine, but I would not bring a car during snow/ice season. Overall, it was a great experience.

It was our first trip to Davis, WV and the Tree House was wonderful. It was clean, nicely furnished and decorated and had all of the kitchen items we needed. We enjoyed the views, the fireplace in the evenings and such comfortable accommodations provided by Grace. Highly recommend a stay here and we have it on our return trip list!

Amazing location and wonderful cabin. So much to do and a perfect base to do it from. The cabin has all that we needed and Grace was exceptional with her communication and suggestions and overall care. What a great time we had hiking and hanging out on our October trip. Trees were in full color and the area is amazing. Davis was a neat little town to visit and everyone was very friendly. We will be back and hope to be able to rent this cabin again!

Our friends of 4 families stayed over the weekend, it was clean and comfortable, loved the cabin in the woods. Thank Grace, we will rent again.

Our family of four and 83 year old mom enjoyed our stay in this lovely property. The house has a light and airy main floor, with plenty of bathrooms. You do feel you are in the trees, and it’s very quiet and peaceful. Location was great, only 10 min to town, about 20 to all kinds of hiking (and some even closer!), yet location feels secluded. Hot tub was great. Grace was very helpful and responsive. We had minor issues with some of the kitchen appliances but nothing that interfered with our vacation. Kitchen well equipped, and we loved sleeping in the loft. Beds were good quality, which is rare in rentals. We did not need or use the AC. We would rent it again, lovely place! Thanks grace :)

Great location, cute house, and Grace was excellent
Rented this place to celebrate my moms 60th birthday with my family. House was perfect for entertaining with an open concept living room, kitchen, and dining room. Great decks with hot tub too which was nice! There is lots to do in the area and Grace does an awesome job helping you plan activities. She was very responsive and kind. Would definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful time at this lovely chalet. We came to celebrate my daughter's graduation with family, and it was a perfect place to cook together, catch up, play games, take a hike and otherwise relax. The house is beautiful, with fabulous views, super clean, with all the amenities you would want. Grace was an excellent host and always easy to reach, and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed including information about hiking trails and things to do in the area. Thank you so much! We will definitely come again.
