Communication and check in was straightforward and excellent. The apartment is huge - massive living space, large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Well appointed and very comfortable beds. The showers were great. WiFi was a wee bit slow but that was also the case while out and about in the area so seems more of a structural than property issue. Loads of shops, bars and restaurants on hand with an excellent Indian restaurant directly opposite. We’d definitely stay again.

After arriving following a long and tiring journey from London on Thursday 22nd Feb we were very disappointed with some areas of the apartment. The flat is not as described as it doesn’t have a third bedroom or a double sofa bed which is extremely misleading. My 25 year old son had to make do with the sofa for the two nights. We were provided with an airbed which had a puncture and then a further airbed 3 days into our stay. A wardrobe had a glass door that was hanging off which meant it was unusable and unsafe. The wardrobe also contained a broken mirror and broken bed frame. The freezer was turned off on arrival and contained a pool of water which flooded the kitchen and we had to clean up ourselves. There weren’t any oven gloves or any baking trays for the oven to use it safely on arrival. The main bathroom bath had black mould around the shower area. Kitchen overhead cupboard broken so it wasn’t easy to obtain access to cups and glassware. Bedroom door locks were broken and just spun on the inside, these doors could not closed without fear of being locked in the room. Bathroom door handles broken, door could not closed without fear of being locked in the room. This was meant to be a relaxing holiday catching up with family, it was far from that. The flat needs some major maintenance work.

We were very disappointed with this flat. We expected a beautifully appointed, well furnished, and cozy home away from home, by the description and the photos. However, many of the items depicted in the photos had been removed (area carpet, coffee table, second kitchen chair, bed side tables, lovely wall art, beautiful bed linens, leaving a more sparse, sterile living environment. In fairness, I will, however, mention the positives of the flat. Although noisy and without the charm found elsewhere in Glasgow, the location in Merchant City is very convenient to get to many of the highlights of the city. Great shopping, good restaurants, Barras Market, access to public transportation are an easy walk away. A Hop on Hop Off bus stop is within just a couple of blocks. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were nice, with ample towels provided. The WiFi was among the best in a VRBO we have experienced in our extensive travel. The washer/dryer combination worked great! On the downside, the kitchen was poorly equipped, if anyone really wants to cook at home instead of eating out or getting take away. Just a few examples, upon arrival the freezer had been turned off and the ice had melted all over the bottom, a mess to clean up after a long, difficult day of travel. The shelves in the refrigerator weren’t in place. Handles on two of the few pots and pans were loose and wobbly. Although there were plenty of spoons and knives, there were only 3 forks (for a party of 4). The lighting was poor, and at least a third of the overhead lights were burned out. The closet door in the second bedroom had a broken rail frame. In short, the amenities in the flat were not as described, so for us the flat felt very sterile and uninviting. Also, the flat has been poorly maintained and felt like the owners are in the process of "moving out." If the owners intend to continue to rent out this flat, we recommend they change the photos to depict a more accurate description of what it is like now, not how it was, and take care of the unattended maintenance issues.

The host was very easy to talk to and helped me with the check in experience. Could have used some wash clothes, but otherwise everything was good. If you’re looking to visit Glasgow, the this place is good because it’s in a centralized location.
