The apartment was nice and clean, and in a great location and very secure.
There were building works going on upon arrival which I was not informed of prior to arrival. I used to work in the travel industry in Tenerife so I know the procedures you should go through with your guests. Drilling and banging would start at 7am and would continue throughout the day until around 5pm or so.
It isn’t mentioned on the booking that when you get to resort you have the deposit of €200 to pay only in cash, and also an additional €75 in cash for cleaning and laundry. Standard practice within the travel industry is that this €75 fee is included in the price you pay included in your booking charge. On departing when I spoke to Eva, she refused to give me back the deposit of €75 for the cleaning and laundry fee and deducted it from my deposit and only gave me €125, even though I have a proof of receipt stating that I would get the full deposit back upon departure. I left the apartment in great condition so there was no complaints about my stay as a guest in the property. Eva also gave the excuse that she was unaware of any building works going on (even though they also rent out apartment 424 next door), I find this hard to believe. There was another guest booked to stay the day I was departing on 30/4/22, and I bet this same situation happens with them.
The company who manages this apartment called Tu Nido Tenerife Property.
As I’ve mentioned I’ve worked in the travel industry in Tenerife and know for a fact that any cash taken is known as “black money”. I complained to Eva on departure and I was not given a complaint form to complete in resort.
I know the travel industry has extremely suffered over the pandemic but to demand cash on arrival after booking the apartment is “black money” and extremely dodgy.
I will be reporting this to booking.com directly and also watchdog.
