Our stay here exceeded all of our expectations. From our first communication with the owners to when checked out - it was a 5 star experience. The owners are wonderful to work with and receptive and prompt in answering any question. The property is immaculate in every way. We will be seeking this property out next time we visit!

The view alone was amazing but the property and owners made it so much beyond amazing. The amenities were endless, things Iād never think of needing, everything was available. The house was immaculately clean and comfy! There were so many little touches that made the stay delightful. My teens were never bored, even put their devices away for most of the trip. The loft was perfect for them! WiFi was questionable at one point for my son needing to take an online exam, but it worked perfectly on the 2nd floor. Thank you, Laura and Chris, for allowing us to stay in your place. Lots of love and memories shared this week!

We had a great time at this cabin! The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Clean and neat and well appointed. Itās close to food and grocery and there were plenty of recreation areas and parks close by to exercise our dog. Would absolutely recommend staying there!

We enjoyed the cabin. It was well stocked and clean. There is not a lake view from the cabin and a pretty long walk to the dock. We had a boat and made it work but the walk up the hill multiple times a day was hard. The cabin was very comfortable and worked well for our group.

Exceptional week. Property was great. House very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Butler has an interesting history and we thoroughly enjoyed the museum tour with Juanita. And the lagniappe(a little something extra) of deer meat from Cheryl was a real treat.

~This was the perfect "meet in the middle" cabin for us and our cousins from North Carolina.
~The owners were great and quick to respond to any questions we had. Check in/out was super easy, as well. The cabin was beautiful and, although you cannot see the lake from the cabin, it's nestled amongst the trees and has a spectacular view of the mountains, and you can experience beautiful sunsets. All of the doors have the ability to open just a screen door and let in the mountain breeze throughout the entire cabin. There's a fireplace with gas logs in the living room which makes it cozy feeling at night.
~The kitchen was well stocked and even had a really nice digital thermometer for the steaks we cooked on the outdoor gas grill one night.
~The master bedroom (with a king bed) and bathroom were amazing. The shower is large and has two shower heads in it.
There are two bedrooms on the second floor with queen beds. They share a bathroom.
~On the third floor, it's all open (you can look over the railing down to the first floor) and huge. Perfect place for kids to hang out and play air hockey, take naps or play board games...all of which our "kids" (technically adults, but they're in college, so still kids to us :) did and enjoyed. I will say, like others have mentioned, it's all open so you can hear everything they are saying, as well as they can hear everything you say on the first floor, which was actually kinda cool because I didn't have to walk up all those steps every morning to wake them up, I just yell up to them to wake up. Lol! I will mention also that there isn't a bathroom on the third floor, so anyone that stays up there will have to use one of the bathrooms/showers on the first or second floor.
~The owners left a sweet little basket of items to make s'mores, and we did at the outdoor gas fireplace :) which is on the deck right outside the sliding door from the living room.
~A couple of mornings we took a walk around to the lake (absolutely breathtaking that time of morning!), and we saw the dock, but we didn't go down there, only because we weren't really there for the water...and it was chilly this time of year, but it's nice.
~Overall, it was a great place to get together with family we only see once a year. We hung out and chilled together, went to High Country UTV Tours near Roan Mountain (SO fun!), took a little hike at Roan Mountain, played games, and watched the UT/Alabama game...GO VOLS! :D
~Definitely recommend!

Our family had a good stay at this cabin. Other than trying to find it in the dark (to be fair, we are from the flatlands of Illinois, so it was a tad intimidating), getting there and checking in was very easy. The owners were very responsive to questions/messages, often getting back to us within minutes, which we appreciated!
The cabin was clean and stocked, we cooked quite a bit while there, and there was plenty of pots/pans/appliances to make it like home. The owners had left us a sweet basket of s'more fixings to be used with the outdoor firepit, which was thoughtful.
It is a family friendly cabin, with lots of board games, extra pillows/towels, etc. We dont have toddlers/babies, but I did notice there were lots of safety features for small kids, like gates on the deck, door alarms, and easy baby gates on the stairs if needed. The vaulted ceiling of the three-floor cabin was beautiful and what I was looking for in a mountain cabin. As previous reviews mentioned, it did make it a tad harder with the younger kids' bedtimes as far as noise or lights, but we brought a box fan as a sound machine and didnt really have major problems. The loft was a fun place for the kids to play, and it is quite large! The bathrooms were super clean, and the master shower is wonderful.
Only major bummer is that one of the biggest reasons we chose this house over a few others that were closer to our day hikes was it has a private dock and paddleboat included in the price that we could take out at-will to explore the cove and lake. However the paddleboat wasn't there when we arrived (owners were notified, responded immediately, and did try to find it), and it really did really limit our interaction with the lake. Again, not likely in the control of the owners, but was disappointing to us as far as a big expected activity that got cut out of the vacation.
All in all, a good experience. Nice location, and we were able to take a day trip to Grandfather Mountain and Elk River Falls, both worth the drive and time. Ate at Southern Craft Restaurant at the lake, and it was good BBQ. I would recommend this cabin, and thanks to the owners for their hospitality.

Open air floor plan with noise made it difficult for family to rest at night. 2nd and 3rd floors never cooled. Beds were uncomfortable and fans need to be serviced. Master bath was very nice. Master bed was uncomfortable with heating pad mattress cover. Dock area in very low water with damaged properties surrounding it. Paddle boat was full of water. Washer smelled of mildew

The cabin was clean and beautiful, just as described. It served as a comfortable home base for our familyās mountain and lake adventures. We enjoyed the views from the deck, paddle boarding and swimming from the dock, and catching up with old friends who live in the area.

Beautiful Watauga Lake!
Our stay here was very nice. We gathered our family from 3 states, IN, GA, and AZ. The kitchen has all new appliances and the large windows off the open living area makes a beautiful setting - if only you could see the lake it would be perfection. We loved our time together and having your own boat dock made the lake fun nice and private. (We rented a pontoon for 3 days and loved taking it out and tubing.) Keep in mind as stated though that this is a good walk away and steep. The listing states that clearly, but it did make it slightly more difficult for our pregnant daughter-in-law and son who also have a 15 mth old. We would drive them down to the steps to the dock along with our coolers etc and then one person would walk back down - we usually assigned our AZ son who climbs the mountains all the time out west - ha ha. Owners were always responsive to our questions before our trip and the home is very well kept and clean. Thank you for the memories and sharing your home with our family. We love Watauga Lake too - most beautiful lake and crystal clear water I think I have ever seen..

Relaxing Getaway
We were looking for a home with access to a lake, but also some seclusion and we found it! The home fit our needs and then some. The owners were accessible and communicated back quickly. The walk to the dock is downhill so prepare yourself for a strenuous, but doable walk back. We loved the dock and the small cove itās on. Lake Watauga is absolutely breathtaking! We rented a pontoon from Lakeshore Marina which I highly recommend. We didnāt seek out other activities. Just enjoyed the lake and relaxing family time.

Cozy and comfortable
Our stay at Cove Ridge exceeded our expectations. We found the property clean and well appointed. The layout of the cabin feels cozy without ever feeling cramped - the 7 adults in our group had plenty of space. The āclubhouseā in the loft provided a great place for the younger family members to hang out on a rainy day. Comfortable beds, beautiful views, great hosts - my family is already asking when we can go back. 5 stars all the way!

Exceptional Stay
The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and fully stocked with the necessities. Beautiful scenery on the mountains with awesome nearby trails!
Laura was super accommodating and allowed us to check in early when we arrived earlier than expected from an out of state commute. Would definitely recommend this property to other. Will certainly stay again when back in the area!

Exceeded our expectations!
My husband and I just returned from an incredible stay at this beautiful cabin! It is tastefully decorated and must be recently renovated because it seemed brand new! Itās cozy enough for just one couple but has two additional bedrooms on the second floor and a loft with additional beds, if you would like to take the whole family. It was also very clean and we are picky!
Additionally, the view of the mountains is gorgeous from both the large wraparound deck and from all three levels inside.
We are so thankful we found this spot by Watauga Lake and hope to be back with friends or family!

Amazing experience!
We had a great time at the cabin, it was very clean, beds were very comfortable, security in the stairs for little kids, it had everything we needed in the kitchen, nice deck with fire pit, a hole floor for the kids to play and sleep. We had snow while up there and the roads were covered. It took a long time for the snow plow to come by and clear the road in the front of the house , but everything else in our stay was amazing. We even had a gift from the host to make some sāmores!

Great Place for a Weekend Getaway
We rented this cabin for a couples' weekend getaway & had a great time. The cabin is every bit as pictured, the views are beautiful, & the hosts were very welcoming. We had everything we needed to include kitchen supplies, bath towels, and comfortable bedding. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation .

Amazing property and hosts!
My husband and I booked this beautiful cabin as a quick getaway and was so happy we did! The cabin was simply beautiful! Just as described and pictured! Checkin was simple, the cabin was ready early and was super clean! I would have to say one of the best appointed rentals with so many well thought out amenities provided! The hosts thought of everything that might be needed during your stay! From a stocked coffee bar to a thoughtful welcome basket! The furniture and beds were comfortable! The views were amazing! We saw sunsets, gorgeous mountains and visiting wildlife( deers, fox and wild turkeys)! We walked down to the dock and enjoyed the beautiful lake views! We enjoyed the hammock swinging chairs and firepit in the evening! We checked out the surrounding towns , some breweries and enjoyed some hikes in the area! Highly recommend! Would definitely book again! The hosts were amazing and communicated with us throughout! We thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of paradise with us!

Our family had such a wonderful time and couldnāt have asked for a better Fall Break! The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful with any questions that arose. We were welcomed with a sāmores basket that was a highlight for our kids and the home had everything we needed. Additionally, it was so clean! The hiking and exploring in the area did not disappoint, either! We highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway!

We really enjoyed the beautiful cabin. The place was very clean with many modern touches. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. Really enjoyed the front and side porch fire pits and the ring toss game! Love the hilly terrain around the cabin as it makes for great mini hikes to really work the legs and lungs. Cabin's 3rd floor kids room is probably the coolest area to hangout with comfortable sitting, games, and ample sleep arrangements with sofa beds. The circular driveway was convenient for multiple cars. I think the one thing that would make this a better place would be to have kayaks or such for use by guests. We really wanted to go for a paddle from the pier. Great overall experience as we got to see the fall leaves falling and also saw a few deer. Would like to come again.- Dykes family - Flower Mound, Texas

What beautiful home and location!! We have been looking for a nice place to change our NC mountain trips to and I think we have found it!! The home is wonderfully laid out, the s'mores package was awesome and our family thoroughly enjoyed our time in Butler and Lake Watauga. We rented a pontoon from Fish Springs Marina and used the dock as our launching location. The dock is a short walk down the hill and makes for a convenient place to dock your rental boat if you choose to get one. The cove is plenty deep for a pontoon and for swimming as well. The lake is SO clean and clear!!Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful house and setting
My wife and I and our daughterās family enjoyed this beautiful house with a pleasant deck and views of the mountains above the lake. We like to cook and eat in a lot when we gather some of our family, and this house had one of the better equipped kitchens weāve seen, as well as a stock of seasonings and condiments we were free to use. The owners also left a complimentary package of fixings for sāmores that we all enjoyed over several evenings of our stay. We made daily use of a retractable canopy over the deck against the afternoon and evening sun. When a heavy rainstorm tripped a circuit breaker for the canopy, I emailed the owners and it was fixed the same day. It is a steep walk down to the dock (and back up!), but we found that we enjoyed the up-and-down walks in the beautiful wooded neighborhood.

Our friends daughter was getting married at Sugar Hollow Resort and this house was nearby. The house was stocked with everything and more. Thanks Laura and Chris.
