About this towable trailer rental
This R-pod is the newest member of our adventure family, and we're thrilled to now have a camper that is perfect for those remote and wild places that we love to visit most! We still love our Winnie and the luxurious accommodations it provides, but there are just some places we can't take her, and this little R-pod is the answer. And best of all, you can un-hitch at base camp and wander to your heart's content.
This camper is really compact at only 20 feet in length, but it is super-roomy with a huge U-shaped dinette that slides-out with the kitchen, a dedicated queen sized bed, and full kitchen and bathroom. The best part about this camper (besides it's striking good looks) is that it's super-light and easy to pull. At just under 3000 lbs dry-weight and 300 lb tongue-weight, this camper can be towed by almost any SUV, as well as many crossovers and minivans!
We are pleased to announce that the solar upgrades to our R-pod are also now complete! In addition to the upgraded batteries that provide about 3x more power than the original battery, we also have 200 watts of solar panels permanently attached to the roof. What this means is that as long as the panels are exposed to the sun (while either camping or driving), the batteries will be recharging automatically and silently. 200 watts is a lot of power for a small trailer, so unless you're charging your ebike or a small fleet of drones, then you'll likely have all the power you need and never have to endure the noise and smell (and glaring looks from your neighbors) of running a generator!
Features:
- Slide-out kitchen/dining
- Large U-shaped dinette
- 24" LED TV
- Entertainment center AM/FM/CD/DVD/Bluetooth
- Outside speakers
- Thule awning
- Dedicated queen-sized bed
- 6'6" interior height
- 3-way (shore-power/battery/propane) fridge/freezer
- 20K btu furnace
- 13.5K btu air conditioner
- 20 gallon propane tank
- Stabilizer jacks
- Electric tongue jack
- Backup camera
Kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and cookware. Bedding and bath kits are available on request if you'd rather not bring your own. We also have a small, quiet Honda generator available if you need more power than the batteries can provide.
This trailer has electronic brakes, and a universal brake controller is INCLUDED. That's right, you don't need a brake controller installed in your tow vehicle for our R-pod! For your safety, we also provide an equalizer anti-sway hitch that will fit any standard hitch receiver for an effortless towing experience.
Note that experience towing a trailer is a must, and your vehicle must be setup for towing with a 2" hitch and a 7-way trailer plug, and have adequate tow capacity. If you're unsure about whether your vehicle is appropriate for towing the R-pod, just send us the make and model of your vehicle and we'll help you find out.
Please note that we expect the camper to be returned in the same condition as when picked-up. This means counters and other surfaces wiped clean, floor swept, and outside washed if excessively dirty.
Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. We're also happy to suggest places to camp and sites to see if you're not familiar with our great State and areas beyond.
NOTE: Camper will be "winterized" between October 1 and March 1, and only "dry" use will be allowed during these times. This means no use of water, sinks, shower or commode in the camper. Exceptions may be made for experienced guests and travel to warmer climates.
