This is an eco-friendly home. It has low flow toilets, motion sensing or low flow faucets, vacancy light switches, occupancy sensors, LED bulbs, a well-insulated attic, and smart locks. It's 100% powered by wind & solar electricity. Solar electricity costs 17c/kwh unlike pollution-generating electricity that is 9c/kwh. In order to keep rates down and to help with environmental sustainability;
SUMMER; The thermostat is locked at a minimum of 75 degrees for AC in
the summer. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living area if Guests
still feel warm at this temperature.
WINTER; In the winter the thermostat is locked at a maximum 70 degrees.
Healthline recommends an optimal sleeping temperature of 65 degrees, so
the temperature will automatically drop to this at night or at times when
the unit is vacant, however Guests do have the option to adjust this up
to the stated maximum limit. Winter blankets are provided, and a
socks & pajamas combo is encouraged.
I personally set my thermostat between 77-79 degrees in the summer and 63-69 degrees in the winter. I feel it part of my duty to the planet. I understand people have a wide range of temperatures at which they feel comfortable, hence the larger temperature range of the listed unit. Dressing according to the season helps a lot in maintaining a comfortable temperature. For example, sensible attire in the winter would be thick socks, long pants, long sleeved shirt and a sweater. If you like bare feet, shorts and t-shirt in the winter, you may not be comfortable in this property. Please do not book this property if the stated temperature range will negatively affect your guest experience.
The City of Irving provides a recycling service. Clean glass, cardboard, plastic and metal can be placed at the rear in blue plastic trash bags on Wednesday evening. Please do not Wishcycle. Pizza boxes, plastic bags and Styrofoam cannot be recycled and will only contaminate the neighborhood batch. Unfortunately, if you miss the recycling truck on Thursday morning, the trash truck will take it instead :(
Exterior cameras are installed at front door, back door door, and driveway, and must not be tampered with.
No unauthorized guests allowed on the property.
A wood fireplace is available for use in the winter. Guest is responsible for opening the chimney baffle before use, and closing the baffle after. Fireplace tools are provided. Clearing ash from the fireplace is not included in the standard cleaning fee and it will cost extra if guest does not do this.

Real-life horror story:I was very cold and decided to turn up the heater. I pressed the thermostat about 6 times but the temperature wouldn’t stay at 76, so I decided to text the owner very politely and ask her if the thermostat was working. Long story short, she went completely crazy after this. She started sending me nonstop screenshots of the current temperature of the home; that’s when I realized that she could see and control the temperature of the home from her phone. It’s not that the thermostat wasn’t working, but every time I tried to put the temperature above 70 (this is in late November), she would immediately turn it off. Then she started texting me non stop for hours, like a completely crazy person. She texted that she would come to the home next day and fix the thermostat because it was broken. It wasn’t broken, she just wanted to set it up so that I wouldn’t be able to set up the temperature at any point higher than 70. I was freezing and upset that I had paid so much money and this woman didn’t even let me turn on the heater. In addition, she started sending me nonstop screenshots all evening and night letting me know that she was monitoring the temperature. She started sending me condescending texts saying that if I didn’t take care of the energy there wouldn’t be anything left for our children. I was in shock and immediately called Vrbo but I kept on getting transferred and/or disconnected every single time. At one point I was even considering calling the cops because I honestly got so freaked out by her constant texts. At one point I begged her twice to stop texting/sending messages through the app. because I had to wake up early next day to work and she was still texting me screenshots of the temperature AFTER MIDNIGHT. She also kept on saying that she was going to show up next morning to “fix” the thermostat even though I very politely asked her to please not come during the day since I was busy working from home and in meetings and that I was also trying to quarantine. That’s when she proceeded to threaten me and tell me that she was going to just cancel my reservation and not issue a refund if I couldn’t keep the temperature under 70 degrees. She also said that I was lying and not quarantining because SHE HAD FOOTAGE of my boyfriend coming to visit me one night.I don’t know why I proceeded to politely explain that he was also quarantining, when it was none of her business.She was so offensive and I honestly felt threatened.

Condo was spotless and its location was perfect for where I needed to be. Off-street somewhat secluded parking was a great plus. I'd 100% stay here again.
