Other Things to Note:
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIMES: Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 10am. While we try to go above and beyond to accommodate our guests, we cannot guarantee early check-ins or late departures. This is to allow our cleaning crew ample time to make sure the property is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before and after your stay.

ACCESS CODE We have an electronic lock on our property. You won't need to go to an office and pick up keys. This code will be a part of the check-in instructions sent 30 minutes prior to your arrival. When you get in the area you can go straight to the property, unpack, relax and enjoy.

INCIDENTALS: The house comes stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, cookware, linens, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and bath towels. There is a coffee maker.

SELF CATERING: All of our properties are self-catering. No maid or towel service is provided during your stay.

We partner with SUPERHOG for our guest screening process. The SUPERHOG application must be completed by the primary guest listed on the reservation, and the background check must be finalized within 48 hours of booking confirmation, in compliance with State and City regulations. Please note, your booking is NOT confirmed until these requirements are fulfilled.
Once confirmed, and prior to check-in, guests are required to sign a Rental Agreement that outlines the terms of the stay, which includes agreeing to the following:

-Abide by our rental terms and conditions.
-Provide a valid government-issued ID and matching credit card before check-in.
-Pay a non-refundable $50 damage waiver through SUPERHOG.
This damage waiver covers accidental damage during your stay. Please note, any damage incurred must be reported during your stay to ensure coverage by the waiver.
-The age requirement is 25 years or older to reserve a property.

SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING: Beach towels, extra paper goods (toilet paper, facial tissue and paper towels), extra pillows if you wish to sleep with more than one, coffee and coffee filters, spices/seasoning, bathing soap and shampoo, extra dish soap, extra trash bags, sun tan lotion/sun block and beach gear.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING In the house, we provide a detailed guest book, including some of our favorite things to do around Port Aransas.

This property is managed by Sand Key Vacation Rentals. We are located at 221 W. Avenue A Suite 6 in Port Aransas. We are open 9 - 5 Monday - Sat and 10 - 3 on Sunday. Our hours in the Summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) are 9-6 Monday-Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday. Please get in touch with our office if you need assistance.

House was very clean, perfect size for my wife and I and extremely close to one of the side streets that leads to the beach so a couple minute golf cart ride. Would stay here again.

A quiet get away for two old people. The unit was clean and bright. Excellent communication with the property manager, with response time in 15 min or less. Easy access to the beach by car or golf cart. We definite recommend Jay's Surf Shack!

Jay’s surf was perfect for our needs. Kids love the huge bunks and the kitchen has everything. We enjoyed the outdoor furniture and even used the pool. We will be back.

We enjoyed our stay at jays surf shack. Wanted to make you aware that one of the shower doors is off track and not able to move, small piece of metal at bottom is sticking out and could potentially hurt someone. I didn’t have time to send message to let you know. Also, in your description of property I wished you would have stated to bring your own beach towels. We would have brought our beach towels with us had we known. You don’t want your white towels on beach completely understandable, but for someone who has a budget, makes it hard to go buy beach towels that are not in the budget for their vacation. We were San Antonio locals who just moved out of state 2 months ago. We come to Port A many times, 2 streets over. The house we usually stay in wasn’t available this week. They provided beach towels, so they made sure their white towels didn’t go to the beach. I assumed, but shouldn’t have. I think it would just help your visitors to be more prepared. It didn’t effect us, as we had a little extra money to go buy beach towels. They are there for the beach life. Overall it was a great house with amazing outdoor living below. Thank you so much.

This home was clean, enough space for some cooking, enough seating for eating and no complaints about the beds. Shower was amazing and great pressure! Loved the ambiance with the lights around the patio and the comfortable patio furniture! We had a little trouble with the washer always saying to add more detergent and that the whole drawer pulled all the way out instead of stopping. Only other thing is we wish we had room to put our groceries in a cabinet. BUT these were nothing compared to everything else! It was fantastic!!!!

2 bedrooms, comfortably slept all 6 of us. We were able to go grocery shopping and cook meals at home for the week. There’s only one grocery store close by, maybe stop at heb or Walmart on your way in. Plenty of cabinet and fridge/freezer space.

Jays surf shack was spectacular. Super up to date and very welcoming. The only couple of issues we had were small- the master bed skirt was dirty with what looked like vomit or an animal from a previous stay. I only noticed due to having to grab something small that fell off that side of the bed. Second small issue was that the master bedroom tv remote didn’t work great. The volume does not turn down and our nightly routine is to watch tv before bed (with littles). We had to listen to a loud tv. Other than that, we would stay again and again! Super cute place and the washer and dryer are a plus! Tons of extra bed linens and bath towels were very useful!

We had a great time here. It was an easy rental to get the key for and things were clean. We were there in March so the little non-heated pool was chilly… but my kids didn’t care :)

We stayed here for a quick weekend get away with our 3 kids ages 15 months, 4 yr and 6yr old during spring break. Overall great location and comfortable accommodations. The beds are very comfortable, and my kids loved the bunk bed and the pull-out sofa bed. I was surprised the pull-out sofa bed was even comfortable which is not normally the case in most places. The only downside is the walls are very thin and there was no blow dryer. We decided to visit during Spring break so understandably there was lots of late-night noise and made it difficult to get kiddos to bed. Also not a huge deal but I expected all places now days have blow dryer and I have stopped traveling with one. You will need to bring your own! I wish I had known this. I called the property manager and they said that is up to the individual owners discretion to furnish or not. Overall, we were happy with the accommodations and will return during a less busy time of year.

The property was awesome! Nice and cozy for 2 adults and a kiddo less than 2y/o! We had a great time in Port A, and it was a nice place to hang out at night and come back to after the beach!

This place was clean and great for our family . The best part was the large closet for our pack n play for the baby . I’m always looking for a closet that one fits in so she can be in her own area in the quiet and darkness. I would have liked a pack n play there as an option so we wouldn’t need to bring ours . Overall it was great !!

Nice little cottage on stilts, with plenty of space to spread out underneath. Really quick golf cart ride to beach, or you can walk it in 5-10 minutes or so. Wifi worked great for work / streaming video. Outside shower downstairs for getting sand off. Washer/dryer and dishwasher are very convenient. Note no coffee or condiments provided as mentioned in description, so guests will need to bring the basics.

We loved our stay at Jay’s Surf Shack. It is very conveniently located, near the beach, and was very well stocked. The cleanliness was OK, but I’d prefer it to be a little cleaner. But I’d definitely stay at the condo again. (We’d also appreciate an additional roll of paper towels.)

The property on line and in person was super cute. Upon arrival, we opened the door and it smelled terrible from cigarette smoke. Then, we discovered the shower door was broken therefore, it was leaking. It was a mess because water would flood the bathroom after every shower. Discovered nasty pubic hair throughout the master bedroom sheets. We contacted management several times. They were responsive and offered plug ins for the smoke smell and ended up refunding one night. Definitely disappointed by the lack of care and detail. It ruined our trip and we came home a day early.
