Loved the location and community amenities. Though the furnishing were very dated, they were adequate. New flooring would be a huge upgrade. The access to the home’s supplies, games, beach toys, and books was wonderful! The kitchen was very well stocked. The Home accommodated a large group quite well. Access to the beach was delightful. We would stay here again (especially if there was new flooring!).

Once again a fabulous stay in Bethany thanks to VRBO and Vacasa.

Easy access to beach! Ample space for 12 people. Kitchen supplies are adequate. Nice extra space off of the kitchen - made a good extra bedroom! Great to have an extra refrigerator along with multiple beach supplies in the garage. However furnishings are outdated. Lower level room and bathroom are not suitable for overnight guests. Bathroom is convenient for run up from the beach. Also screened in sun room is super Hot, even with windows open and the fan running and one of the doors in that room will not close/lock; found a way to secure the handle to a chair during the storm to keep it from flying open. For older guests the first floor toilet seats are low - this could be problematic.

Open floor plan and sitting areas on second and third floors.

This house has many good qualities. The layout allows everyone to find space. But the negatives overshadowed the positives. It smells like creosote in the garage and the 6th bedroom. It was not usable nor was the 4th bathroom. It needs deep cleaned and some TLC. I would not recommend this rental.

Our family enjoyed the entire week at 38 Sugar Hill Road. The house was clean and well stocked and we had plenty of room for our extended family to cook large meals and relax. We loved the easy beach access and spent most of our time enjoying the laid back feel of the private beach. We will be going back next year!

1. Replace tea kettle. Prior guest left on stove too long and burned out interior copper.
2. There are ants in the kitchen and elsewhere.
3. Garage breaker panel needs to be relabeled. Original entries now faded and unreadable.
4. Dining room light circuit faulty - light does not work. Old bulb still good and new bulb did not work either.
5. **** Important. Upstairs circuit panel door interior unreadable due to massive deposits of black mold. Entire ventilation system needs to be checked and cleaned if necessary.
Everything else was satisfactory and no other issues noted.

This was our second time staying in this house. It is spacious, and family friendly. The kitchen is well equipped, and the location is amazing. Very short walk to the private beach that was very sparsely populated, even on the weekends. The house is comfortable but not super fancy.

We had a great time at 38 Sugar Hill. The Kitchen has every possible utensil and tons of cookware and dishes. However, we couldn’t find any dish towels. We were unable to use the downstairs room, the one off the garbage, because of a musty odor. This left us a bedroom short. The enclosed porch would be more usable if it had a portable AC. Our vacation week had some days over 90 degrees and this room became a sauna. The bedrooms were great and well stocked with blankets. The master bathroom needs an update. Loved the picnic tables on the deck these are great for crab dinners, but the rest of the porch furniture needs to be replaced. There are lots of beach chairs and kids toys for the beach. Great house, it just needs lots of attention.

Loved the location, easy access to the private beach, the tree shaded porch is pleasant (would benefit from a ceiling fan). Unfortunately, an electrical panel was malfunctioning (couldn't run the microwave, garbage disposal or coffee maker at the same time) and the dishwasher did not work until repaired at the end of our week long stay. The description includes a "bedroom" on the ground floor. It is unusable as the space smells of creosote and damp since the space includes creosote painted structural piers and the only window has an air conditioner in it. As a consequence, our group doubled up in bedrooms.

The property was an older one. However it was in great shape. It was a very comfortable place to stay with children. The beach was fantastic! They were hardly any other people on the beach as it was a private beach. There were three lifeguards. The walk to the beach took two minutes or less. It was probably one of our best vacations!

The kitchen is very nice and well stocked with dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, etc. There are plenty of spacious rooms, a little dated, but nicely kept, and the location is perfect! Easy to find with the Sussex Water Tower as a landmark. The walkway to the beach is perfect, and there's a nice bike/walking path very close by. Lots of beach toys and chairs, so no need to bring them along. A second refrigerator located in the garage is a much appreciated bonus, too. Unfortunately, we had a few appliance issues, but were compensated for the inconvenience.

Great stay in a great location
Flawless rental process with HomeAway and the rental management company was communicative and responsive. The house is huge! Beds are comfortable and kitchen easy to cook in, much better stocked than usual rental properties. The house style and decor are somewhat dated but everything is clean and functional. Appreciated having luxuries such as a desktop computer available for use, smart BlueRay player with internet connectivity allowing for Netflix and Amazon viewing from my own account, nice coffeemaker, fantastic proximity to the beach with great lifeguards, private tennis and basketball within the development, great outdoor shower with hot water, laundry, and plenty of beach toys and chairs in the garage. Had a great time!
