The buffet breakfast at their sister location Shana at the Beach was very good and had many choices. However, the site on Booking for the Blue Mirador did not mention that we would have to take a golf cart down to Shana at the Beach for breakfast every morning. When I book a hotel, I like to have the convenience of eating at the property. We loved the view from the balcony of the water.
The road down to the property is full of large pot holes that made it very difficult to manage at night time. There was also very limited parking at the location. The first night we had no hot water and the last morning no water at all. It seems that the hotel is going through a renovation as the property is very old and needs updating.

The breakfast is handled by 'Shana by the Beach' hotel which I believe bought this property within the last year or two. The breakfast was insanely good and past reviews must have had a different set-up for breakfast. Of course, you need to tell the staff at the front to call a golf-cart, or walk the very short, but steep, walk to Shana. White-faced capuchins raid the breakfast every morning and it's hilarious and if you want to see monkeys, the breakfast is a must. The rooms themselves are super large and monkeys frequently visit your balconies (see pics), especially if you put some food out. They do their rounds so it may take a few hours. Housekeeping and staff are super nice. There's also a private beach (playa Beisanz) at Shana that you can walk to (ask receptionist how to get there) and taxi to Manuel Antonio beach is $10 (ask receptionist to call a taxi). The hotel is in a wildlife part and therefore not very close to Manuel Antonio beach but given the animal sightings, great breakfast, and private beach, it is easily worth the smaller price tag than Parador or Shana.
The property, which was recently purchased, has not been fully incorporated into the vision of Shana by the beach. There are parts of the hotel that need work and many un-used rooms that need re-invention. This is why Blue Mirador is cheaper than Shana and so I'm fine with it. Great deal if you understand that you are getting a discount and will see a bit of 'work-in-progress'. Also, the history of this place is interesting to say the least! Grandma had a ball researching the history and I encourage you too as well!

Nothing !!!!
The elevator doesn’t work . There was no electricity in half of the day no hot water or no water at all on half of the day the food in the restaurant it’s horrible. I do not recommend to nobody to get and spend money about this place. !!!!!!

This hotel has got to have the best view in Manuel Antonio. It may well be one of my favourite views.
We stayed in a standard room and that it was, it was pretty dated and they should worn you in advance about the stairs!
On our first morning we had a little lay in and decided to go for breakfast at 8am, we were very disappointed. There was hardly any food left and the lady working there didn’t seem to want to help much. Our second morning we went earlier and all was okay.
Majority of the staff were excellent.
This really could be the best hotel in Manuel Anthony if they just tweaked a few things.
There is building by work taking place across the road, lots of drilling. We decided to head to their sister hotel down the road to enjoy their pool instead, on the plus side, it’s a lot bigger and better for swimming

The walk through the forest to the beach was great, we saw monkeys and a sloth. The views were spectacular. Our deluxe room was spacious with a closet. The pool was lovely. Roof top views from the pool area in the evening provided chances to see Macaws, toucans and parrots.
They asked that you not flush toilet paper

Location was fine, breakfast was good, staff was good, Jorge the valet is exceptional. The value for the area was above average. Hotel layout was 2000's marina style with a wicked patio above the pool.
Hotel changed back to its pre-covid name (Blue Mirador} on all signage so... first timers to Costa Rica will be 'challenged' by its location. A new hotel across the road facing the national park is being built, so the view is more natural facing north, but it didn't ruin my pura vida buzz one bit.

The rooms are large with nice view
If you do not have car, the walking to main road is a struggle due to up and down terrain

Older hotel but large, nice clean and comfortable rooms with beautiful views. Great buffet breakfast with a good selection included. Nice pool with views. Great, helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is being managed by their sister hotel down the road, so you have use of their facilities as well. Hotel staff would shuttle you down and back to the other hotel for dinner or pool or beach use.
Limited parking and some steep hills.

The room was nice, quiet, comfortable, with a great view! The pool with a swim up bar was fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Parking was a little cramped, but workable. The staff would help with parking if needed.

Everyone was so kind and helpful. Our flights were delayed and the front desk was so accommodating to our changes and even upgraded our room. Roy was very personable and such a joy to talk to by the pool. Thanks for a great stay!
Our only wish was that more restaurants were easy to walk to other than that, nothing!

The hotel staff is super nice and helpful. They always happily answered for any question, helped in booking.
Jorge is a really cool guy, always helpful, he even took us to Playa Biesanz with golf cart and came to us when we messaged on whatsapp.
The hotel has an amazing view from the restaurant and the pool.
We got a room update for our honeymoon with fantastic view to the ocean.
Parking with a car is very difficult, the parking lot is small, always full, the road is steep, hardly reachable.
The walls are paperthin, you'll hear everything clearly and loudly from outside and inside the hotel as well.
There is only one parasol at the pool but many sunbeds on the direct sunlight, makes it difficult to have a rest there.
The small tiles of the pool are coming off, laying on the bottom.
There was an ongoing renovation in the hotel, the hall was painted during our time.

The hotel is located up on the hill with an amazing view over the beach.
The staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful.
We got an upgrade from Booking and stayed in a very spacious room with a huge terrace.
The facilities are ok, but not that high standards. lots of workmanship in the construction are done badly (which is very usual in Costa Rica).
The terrace was not cleaned, it was very dusty.
When coming up the stairs to the terrace, the roof is too low so I hit my head against it.

The hotel Shana two doors away!
This place is a disaster area and miles from anywhere you definitely need transport and the road to this property is full of potholes! It was booked as Ocean Two Resort but that doesn’t exist anymore, it’s changed ownership and the name of the place is now Blue Mirador. Don’t stay there. Nobody contacted in advance to tell us or apologised for the change.
The place was a “building site” with workers everywhere in reception, no apologies were offered or complimentary drink for the inconvenience.
We complained 3 days about the shower and then it was incorrectly fitted with the wrong shower head (the manager agreed the house maintenance man is a “fool”) for this we were offered a free meal but from a different hotel because our hotel didn’t have a restaurant even though it was advertised on Booking as having one. The whole place is completely run down and needs complete refurbishment but not while guests are staying there, the lights in our room didn’t work properly and the key card for the room failed on numerous occasions along with a catalog of other issues. The only positive was the hotel two doors away “The Shana” had a great pool and restaurant my suggestion is stay there!

My room had ocean view and that is what I only like about this property.
The property is very old and there are lots of issues with bathroom, lockers and bed. Breakfast was very bad considering the money I paid. The bathroom shower was broken ans they moved me to a similar room next door. After I moved I found the safety locker is broken and staff couldn’t fix that. I was told to use the safety locker from the room originally I was allotted. The balcony was not clean and I found there are ants. They have two tiny soap in the bathroom and the soap quality was horrible.

Great place to spend some days there. Very nice stuff, room is huge, perfect balcony view, very good gym, nice hidden beach area and great pool. Breakfast was outstanding fresh and good.

The grounds are breathtaking but it was the people that made our stay perfect! From the desk ladies (Daniella & Megan) to our new forever family member, Jorge, the employees were absolutely stellar!
Nothing! It was perfection!

The pool area is very nice, the staff at the front desk is kind and helpful, the room was very big and the bed very very confortable !
The room (penthouse) was very far from the reception / the pool. We had a little problem with our room (the shower broke) and the receptionist address the problem immediately (thank you!!) and found a good solution, but the rest of the staff didn’t make us feel very good about it.

Beautiful views. Animals from the balcony
It’s was definitely high class when it was built, but needs some upgrades
