The house is great, very clean, the kitchen has all the supplies, the access to the beach is incredible, from the house to the beach water is a maximum of five minutes walking, that's really good, super close! I would definitely stay at this house again! The only thing I would change would be a new gas grill, preferably on the deck. But other than that I had an incredible week in this house!

Each year we rented a deluxe cabin at the KOA, which was fine but not roomy. We decided to compare prices. We found the Outrigger for about the same price. The stay was wonderful !! Very comfortable! Thank you!

Outrigger never fails to make our vacations in Avon exceptional. We are greeted with a beautifully decorated and cozy cottage each time we visit. It is always immaculate, well equipped, and perfectly located. I couldn’t pick a better vacation rental to call our home for a few weeks each year!

We stayed here for a long weekend with our young kids. It was a nice size and open layout downstairs. The bathrooms could use come updating and the whole house could use a deep cleaning. The edges of all the rooms were sandy and dusty, vents and ac needed to be cleaned. We loved that it was steps to the beach especially with babies!

A cozy home that has lots of amenities. We loved it.

Very smooth process and great place to stay.

Great place to stay, the beach access is quite rough compared to other places I stayed but the house was so amazingly comfy it was worth it. The only other thing is the porch up top, the railings are not secure and one was completely out. I have a toddler. He could have easily fallen through that. That needs to be fixed. Everything else was great though.

Please tell the Outrigger owners that the kitchen remodel is excellent.
Day 1: After unloading my vehicle I tried the television. It did not work. I called Hatteras Realty. I got no response. I called the Vacasa number listed on the welcome papers. I was connected to Christine of Vacasa maintenance who said she would send a technician. The technician was actually a home builder named Mark and knew nothing about the television in Outrigger. I called Christine again. Someone came to Outrigger while I was attending a meeting at the Cape Hatteras Anglers Club clubhouse. Whoever that was left a new remote which was the same model that I used in Outrigger in 2021 and also left the television on the same screen that I was able to get originally which was useless. The remote left in Outrigger did not work the television. Time was 4:54 PM. At 5:36 Christine sent a text that said, “Just read my tech’s notes. He says it was on the wrong input and should work fine on the remote now,”. It did not work “fine” or at all.
Day 2 (Wednesday, 2nd) through Day 4 (Friday, 4th) were the same. No person came to fix the television.
Day 5 (Saturday, 5th): A local maintenance person came to Outrigger in late afternoon and informed me after fiddling around with the remotes and the television, that a cable company technician would be needed to fix the television problem. He made several telephone calls and left the premises never to be heard from again. He should have been sent to Outrigger on Day 1.
Day 6 (Sunday, 6th): I notified Christine by text that 3 technicians had visited Outrigger since my arrival and at 11:55 AM on Sunday I still did not have a working television. She gave no response.
Day 7 (Monday, 7th): The day before I was to vacate Outrigger, a cable company employee from Nags Head came during the morning and found that the cable outside Outrigger was disengaged from the poles. He said he would replace the cable and it would take at least a couple of hours. I left to visit my friend in Buxton and told the cable guy that I would return quickly as the cable guy was not allowed by company policy to enter the cottage without a tenant being inside. Upon my return the cable guy informed that he had replaced the cable. He came inside and picked up a different remote than I had ever used in Outrigger and the television worked. I was able to watch television for the first time since my arrival 6 days earlier.
Christine had a dismissive attitude for my interest in football, said she helped as much as possible even on her days off (no backup support?), used her personal telephone (not my problem), followed Vacasa maintenance protocol (needs improvement), and that her office hours are 9:00 to 5:00 (really?). To that I say a rental agent’s job is to see that a renter, especially of an expensive cottage, is happy with the cottage and all the amenities regardless of the

This house had everything we were looking for, central location, clean, comfortable, and just a block away from the ocean

The home is immaculate, very clean, comfy and cozy. Kitchen is very functional. Will definitely stay again. 10/10 recommend.

Clean house with a newer feel. Not a bad place to stay if you don’t mind driving to larger “more to do areas”. Short walk to the beach.

Wow. We absolutely LOVED this house. The house itself is very clean and comfortable, with a very efficient AC. It is also very well located, a supermarket, stores, cafes and restaurants being just a short drive away. We highly recommend this house and will definitely stay there again on our next visit in the Outerbanks.

The house was overall great, short walk to the beach, well kept house when we arrived, clean hot tub, and good food recommendations on the bulletin board. No major complaints about the house, we had a great time.

Beautiful home
Loved the space, furniture, and kitchen equipment available. Unfortunately, the hot tub was cool in the evening and we couldn't get in. The most unfortunate part is out of the control of anyone, the winds were ridiculous the entire stay😔

Great Stay in Avon!
My husband and I stayed here for three nights in December with out 13 year old daughter. The house was exactly as advertised. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets. We also enjoyed the kitchen, which was stocked with plenty of cooking ware and spices. This is just what we needed for a quiet little winter getaway!

My Review
The house was well appointed. Not a lot of flea market crap strewn throughout the house as some other rentals have. The hot tub works. Knives were sharp, plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pans.

Just like home!
It was our first experience with VRBO and it was great.

Great Home
This is the best home I've stayed in in the Outer Banks. We had everything we needed in this house, plus more. The complimentary items really came in handy as it took a while to get to the store due to holiday traffic and the check in crowds. I would rent this home every single year.

Outrigger Cottage 41-HC
We loved that the house was crisp and clean. As a repeat visitor to this home, the homeowners are making improvements each year and it shows! We truly felt comfortable here, as if it was our own home.

Clean and well equipped home
The only real drawback to this home is no access to the beach. Had to load up and drive to get to the beach. The house was very clean and comfortable as well as being well equipped.

Bright and Cheerful
We really enjoyed our late April week in the Outrigger. It's a bright and cheerful home with a personal feel that suggests use by the owner. The large kitchen is well equipped for cooking and entertaining. Location is excellent for those wanting easy walking access to the ocean-side beach. We encountered a couple of minor issues that were quickly resolved. All around great experience. Will rent again next time we are in Avon.
