Hatteras Island Getaway

I liked having two master bathrooms. We really enjoyed having a covered deck so we could sit outside when it rained. The location is unbeatable next to the pier, restaurants, shopping, and the Food Lion. We had everything we needed for cooking and eating. Very comfortable and nice to be able to cook meals to save money.

I felt the communication about the property and problems we had was impersonal. The WiFi was difficult to obtain, lots of wrong information. We found some live waterbugs and lots of dead waterbugs. The pool needs more seating. There should be an outside water area near the dune walkover to cleanse feet of sand. During our week, someone came over to change the batteries in the smoke detectors. We let him come in; however, if we had not been home, he said he would have called Vacasa and gotten a code to come in. He was told by the office no one was in the unit! Our cameras, laptops, and money would have been in the unit. I'm sure Vacasa is not responsible for anything that could have been stolen. This type of miscommunication is unacceptable, putting the renter at great risk.

Vacasa is a nightmare and ruins every vacation. Book with a property NOT ran by this mega company.

Location is great

Vacasa is a nightmare and will nickel and dime you. We left my daughter birthday toy and they would not tell us if it was there or not without paying $25 just to tell us one way or another. Absolute horrid customer service. I will avoid vacasa properties like the plague. I wish this property was locally or “real person” owned.

Nice place, poor service by Hatteras Realty/Vacasa

Closeness of beach and pool.

Bad service from Hatteras Realty. Both TV's in bedrooms didn't work, called for service and ignored! Had to call 3 times to get door code access to condo. Had to call 4 times for pool code!!!

we had no breafast we fix it ourselve there was no veiw of the ocean the pool was close didnt like any of it expect for the beach sunrise was beauitful

better tell me what kind of place their stay improved on bed and tv that there is no ocean veiw

Great location. Sad, dated decor and vibe.

Location was great! Right near the beach, restaurants, boat and bike rentals, groceries, etc.

They really need to up the game on beds and bedding. Cheap mattress on box springs with old flat pillows and comforter from the 90s. Do better! The tub wouldn’t drain and was leaking through the floor. Cabinets seemed like they would fall apart at any minute. We had fun, but the place itself is a bummer. The vibe was sad. Seems like no one has cared for this place in 30 years.

location, being oceanfront, how spacious the condo was, and being able to sit on the deck and relax and see the ocean was phenomenal!

climbing all the steps made it a little hard for my mom to deal with but still not bad

The peaceful atmosphere. Spacious. Clean. And right there on the beach. Very comfortable.

The big German shepherd above us. Clumps of his hair coming down on us, and his hair falling in our coffee in the morning. The one girl with us is highly allergic to dogs, so she never got to sit out with us.

Superb

Location was fantastic and the place was very clean. Nicely decorated, plenty of seating options and the outside space was nice.

Could use some updates but everything there is functional. Would also prefer a key code on the door instead of actual keys.

the location was great. felt some what homey.

Games and movies were outdated. it felt like floors didn’t get swept at all. furniture was dusty. I’m not sure if the smoked detector battery was dying but it kept going off randomly and no one was cooking.

Very good

Location was in close proximity to beach and condo was roomy enough for my family of 4. Easy check-in/check-out process. Nice beach/pier area. Pool at the Hatteras Beach Club was very enjoyable.

Condo could use a little TLC. Mattress in master BR needs to be replaced due to sagging in the middle. Baseboards need to be thoroughly cleaned. There should be some outdoor trash cans closer to the condo.

Great location, needs better cleaning

The location was excellent! Parking was great and the price for what we got was decent

The only thing that seemed cleaned was the couch and beds. Baseboards were disgusting, didn't seem like they have been cleaned in ages. The blinds were dusty and didn't look like they've been cleaned in awhile either. Bathroom floor edges didnt seem clean nor were the kitchen floors. There was a large spot of something that was under the fridge that was red in color. If the condo was cleaned better, it would have been the perfect place!

Our family enjoyed our stay very much, and would definitely consider visiting again.

The accommodations in the condo were wonderful! -- plenty of bedding, towels, etc. Also very impressed with the cleanliness and "pest-free-ness" :)

Did not like the the reality/rental office was basically on "lock-down." Could see local information packets (i.e. "things to do and see") through the door, but couldn't pick them up. :( If office is going to be locked, it would be nice to have this information in the condo itself. Something minor: we thought it was odd that there wasn't an outdoor shower/faucet to rinse off after coming back from the beach. We discovered it on our last day. Maybe this could be marked, or noted in information more clearly.

Very good

Very nice kitchen set up - everything a good cook could possibly need. Great variety of games, movies, magazines, etc.

Twin mattresses need to be replaced, but plenty of extra pillows and blankets.

Avon Calling #13 review

A very nice condo. Nicely furnished and decorated. Not an oceanfront location but the ocean is slightly visible from the bedroom and the balcony and it's just a short walk around the other building to the beach. The pool wasn't open yet but I'm sure it's great in the summer. Some restaurants are within walking distance and there are quite a few good restaurants within a short drive. All in all a nice place. I would definitely stay there again.

It took us a while to figure out the TV system and the 3 remotes. Instructions would be helpful but not a big deal...just not the system we're used to.

Main bedroom mattress was like sleeping on lumpy mashed potatoes. could have been cleaner. Kitchen cabinets need a good wipe down. Bathroom shelves very dusty

Not exactly as advertised

The location was great and the building was nice and quiet. The kitchen was well provisioned and the furniture was comfortable.

This is a “walk-up” apartment and schlepping our luggage and groceries was a real negative. The unit, while mostly clean, desperately needs updating and refreshing. Baseboards are dusty, paint is chipped, bedroom ceiling has a spot that looks like it’s about to fall in, etc. Let’s just say it doesn’t look like the photos on the Booking. Having said that, we would consider coming back here and will pack lightly!
