Between the location, staff, facilities, friendliness, and value, the hotel met my every expectation.
It did not seem the floors were vacuumed very often.

Food was excellent! Coffee shop was great & restaurant was amazing!
The facility was not very clean. Common areas, like hallways, elevators were dirty for my entire visit! And it was not new dirt - crumbs & trash I saw the 1st day were there on day 5 when I left. The floor in my room was dirty when I checked in -there was crumbs & a drink top between the bed, trash on the floor & black spots that I was able to remove either ones. Lamps were thick with dust. It did not feel clean or worth what I was paying!

The front desk staff displayed outstanding customer service upon arrival on July 27th. They were the utmost professionals. The bar staff exhibited friendly, professional service with great recommendations.
On day three of our stay the housekeeper, Marsha, had not cleaned our room upon our afternoon return at approximately 2:00 pm. We inquired why our room had not been cleaned, Marsha replied: " there were blankets under the sheet." We informed Marsha the blankets could have been removed. Marsha immediately responded back negatively with unprofessional responses.

Checking out the staff was pleasant. The common areas were updated and appealing. The outside of the hotel is inviting and it is located in a great area.
Checking in the staff was dismissive and uninformative. The room was not the standard of clean that the Hilton brand brings and the bedding was excessively worn and stained with what appeared to be blood.

The staff was friendly and very welcoming. The room was perfect but Gene in the valet is who stood out the most! He was so helpful and kind.
We really enjoyed our stay!
We will return and recommend staying here!

no pool, also it was dusty in the room (bathroom, and drawers had not been cleaned)

The restaurant and our waiter was great!
The dust the crumbs on the floor in the bedroom just seemed filthy. It was like they just sprayed Lysol to make it seem clean

I can’t say enough about this wonderful hotel,
I highly recommend it! During your stay, order the fillet, mignon, and thank me later!!!!
The ONLY issue I encountered during my stay with the wonderful staff at the Curio, was someone who apparently thought they were someone at the hotel front desk, his name is Wesley. He is a grouchy, sour Puss, who should not be allowed to greet the public in a hospitality environment. He followed me as I was accompanied by the bellman to load some things in my vehicle, on the day, prior to my departure, since I was alone, and didn’t want to load it all at once. As he followed me to my vehicle, he instructed the Bellman to stop helping me to load my things, and proceeded to tell me that he would not allow me to further load my vehicle, as I was attempting to leave the premises without paying for my stay. This was followed by WESLEY telling me that I didn’t have to do anything any longer because the Homewood police department had shown up. Further, I just want to add that this was in a public parking area in front of everyone. The policeman, who was extremely kind, proceeded to tell him. It was an easy fix, because my card has been flagged for fraud by the bank. The policeman simply said she and I will go up to her room and check and make sure that it is indeed her card that she’s trying to use. That’s exactly what we did with no problem or what so ever. I want to strongly impress upon anyone that frequents this establishment to be aware of how unfriendly and unwilling to accommodate the guests WESLEY is, how would instead suggest that you turn your attention and tips to Keyshawn at the front desk. There are several names that I would love to mention because they certainly made me feel right at home and just like I was among “friends”! The bad taste that Wesley left in my mouth, will not in any way hamper me from staying at the Curio anytime I’m in Birmingham. I highly recommend it. I would like to personally thank Joseph, Gene, Renita, the entire restaurant staff, and most certainly my precious one, Keyshawn!

We'll definitely be back!
