Nice short break in the this lovely well equipped cottage. Sue, the owner was very friendly and helpful. Its location was good for us as we had booked a day at Haydock Races. The Martin Mere Wildlife Centre was only 10 minutes away and is a fabulous place to visit.

Peaceful. Clean cottage which was well equipped, with lovely super king bed. Phil the owner greeted us on arrival and had a lovely chat with him when we left.

Phil and Sue were extremely friendly and great hosts. The location of the property is in the middle of the countryside and close to the canal. If you want to get away from it all then this is the place to come.

Relaxing, friendly, welcoming atmosphere with parking, perfect for meeting up with my long lost cousin and her fiance.

Spent 2 nights in The Shippon cottage. It was warm and cosy and had everything we could have possibly needed. There was a little carton of milk provided in the fridge which was great after a long journey we could have a cup of tea straight away! There was a more relaxed check out time allowed to us by the owners too which was welcomed unlike other places where you have to be out at the exact stroke of 10am.

Stayed with grandchildren aged 3 and 6, to look after them while parents moved house.

The cottage was the perfect size for 2 people and had all the facilities needed to easily cook and live day-to-day for a week-long stay.
The location was very scenic and peaceful - the walk by the canal to the Farmer's Arms was a particular highlight.
The house was really well resourced and made it easy to settle in of an evening.

This is our 3rd stay at Martin Lane farm. We have stayed in two cottages now and they have both been of a high standard and very comfortable. The hosts, Philip and Sue are welcoming & friendly and live onsite so are on hand if you need anything.

We have stayed at the cottages quite a few times, the first time being about 11years ago and each year for the past 6 years so always been happy.
It’s a central location for doing sightseeing in the SW Lancashire area

We stayed 2 nights to visit family and friends.Beautifully presented, great little cottage with everything you need. Owners very friendly, sharing information on the property and area. Very welcoming to children. Our 6 and 4 yr olds loved it. Petting the sheep and pony and seeing the goose. Plenty of space for the kids to have a run around after a long car journey.

We stayed here last year and couldn’t fault it so we decided to stay here again.
