About this cottage rental

Cornflower Cottage No 2 can cater for up to max four people. This Cottage has one bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed and en-suite shower room, walk-in wardrobe and LCD TV with Freeview. The smaller but spacious second bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite shower room with its own LCD TV including Freeview.

Between the two bedrooms there is an open plan kitchen/dining area and lounge with a well equipped kitchen including fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven/hob and dishwasher, dining area with pine table and four chairs. The lounge area has a comfortable leather sofa and chairs with LCD TV with Freeview and DVD player.

The cottage has gas central heating throughout. Free wi-fi is available.

Sorry, but we do not accept single sex groups or pets in this Cottage.

There is free parking in our courtyard for one vehicle and for the comfort and benefit of all our guests we are a non-smoking establishment throughout.

Please note our check-in times are from 2.00pm to 6.00pm.

This Cottage can be booked over Christmas and the New Year, but we ask for a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Nicola and Andy welcome you to come and stay at The Windmill Bed & Breakfast which is over 230 years old and is the last remaining Windmill in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
This 18th Century Grade II listed Windmill is one of the most unique establishments in Scarborough offering quality self-catering and bed and breakfast accommodation. The Windmill is located at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac, with a small car park and is less than a 5 minute walk from the Town Centre, Railway Station and Stephen Joseph Theatre
We have two wonderful refurbished apartments in the Windmill itself. Each one is set over two floors and offers a lounge/kitchen/dining area and an en-suite bedroom. These apartments are for 2 adults only. The Top Balcony apartment is for those of you who are a little more adventurous and have a good head for heights. There are 38 steps up to the balcony but you are rewarded with beautiful sea views when you reach the top so it is well worth it. Our lower apartment is reached by 15 steps and whilst it does not offer sea views it does make up for it in terms of style and space, being the lower of the two apartments it is the biggest.

Set alongside the windmill within our tranquil courtyard we have two self catering cottages. These are easily accessed being on the ground floor. Cornflower 1 is a Three bedroom cottage sleeping a max of 4 adults and 1 child and Cornflower 2 is a two bedroom cottage sleeping 4 people. Both cottages have two en-suite bathrooms and a central lounge/kitchen/dining room. They are beautifully decorated offering luxury at affordable prices.

Along the first floor veranda looking out onto the courtyard and Windmill we have 2 four poster king-size en-suite bedrooms and 1 superking-size / twin en-suite bedroom. All uniquely designed each boast beautiful beds and furnishings, flat screen tv’s and dvd players.

We regret we do not accept pets in any of our accommodation.

The location of The Windmill is great within Scarborough (although a little difficult to find the actual street on arrival). Our cottage was beautifully decorated and has clearly been well thought out (even small things like mirror placement near to plug points for getting ready). My 9 year old was living his best life with a double bed and TV in his room! Nicola and Andy were both really friendly and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

So easy to walk down to North or South Bay. Everything you could possibly need is provided. Absolutely spotless, fluffy towels and quality bedding. Great decor with a homely feel. Brilliant hosts, we will definitely be back.

The two bedroom cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The bed is incredibly comfortable and I loved the summer weight duvet. The cottages are also nice and cool in summer. It's an easy short walk to the town centre but really peaceful. The only improvement would be twin beds instead of a double in the smaller room to help families like ours. With no outside space or porch, we found it hard to dry towels after showering and our swimming gear, so a full size clothes airer would really help.

2 couples stayed in the Cottage No.2. It has 2 bedrooms both with en-suite and a living room in the middle. Very clean and pleasant rooms with all the facilities you need for self catering if you prefer.

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend break. We stopped in cottage 2 and it was immaculate. Everything was laid out perfectly and suited our needs. The location was very quiet and was a 10 minute walk to the beach. The owners were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. We are looking forward to going back later in the year.

Our stay at the windmill was an absolute delight. The new owners were very helpful and down to earth. We also had the pleasure of meeting their new daughters who happily played with my own. Our cottage was getting decorated to a very high standard-my favourite feature was the huge mirrored bed that me and my daughter shared! Heaven! Location was good, close to town and maybe a ten minute walk to the beach. I wouldn't change a thing and will definitely be going back :)

The warm and friendly welcome. As a disabled person was very accommodating to fix a ramp up for me to get my mobility scooter in may cottage. This was my third visit and I will hopefully be going back again,

We are two couples who come to Scarborough to meet friends for New Year. It was not easy at short notice to find accommodation. Then I stumbled on The Windmill. Such a reasonable price and sounded OK. When we arrived we were astonished. Such good taste in decor in Britain is quite rare. The four poster bed and walk in shower were highlights but the kitchen and living room area were so well equipped and comfortable. We all loved the nice firm beds and enough pillows to build a wall with!

We had a wonderful stay at The Windmill. We stayed in the 2 bed cottage. This really was home from home. So comfortable and meet our needs perfectly. Central location small walk into town. Hosts were lovely people. Thank you for a lovely stay. Will be back in the summer for another stay and will definitely be having breakfast :)

We just spent a weekend in Cottage 2 , the party including my husband and myself and my Mum and Dad . The accommodation is just beautiful and has everything you could need for a self catering break . It's position is very good being just a 5 minute walk from town and also walking distance from Scarborough's attractions . The owners are really friendly and helpful . We booked breakfast for Sunday morning which was lovely , very tasty .

We thoroughly enjoyed our Windmill stay. Host David and staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The two bedrooms are large and well fitted, even a four poster bed, great ensuites for each room with excellent showers. Comfortable lounge with dining area and good full kitchen. An easy stroll to restaurants and all that Scarborough has to offer also hub for visiting surrounding towns, Whitby, Bridlington and Yorkshire Moors Railway. good public transport
