All our cottages are fully heated and equipped with washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, digital Freeview television, wireless internet and telephone. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge, and cots and highchairs are available on request.Pets are welcome everywhere except The Cottage, which we aim to keep ‘allergy-free’.
Children are especially welcome and guests staying in our cottages have full access to all the facilities enjoyed by those staying in the guest house, including the grounds and swimming pool. You are also welcome to make use of the reception rooms in the house and to reserve tables in our restaurant. Or why not treat yourself to a full English breakfast - just ask the day before.
The former stable was converted in 1987 and is full of character, even containing the original hay rack. It sleeps four people in one double room and one twin bedded room, which are upstairs along with the recently refitted bathroom. Downstairs, the open plan living and dining area is separated from the kitchen by the original stable dividing wall—so you can still be part of the conversation with friends or family while cooking.
Alongside a choice of en-suite rooms in the beautiful Georgian country house or self-catering cottages in the adjacent barn conversions, we have a fabulous restaurant serving lunch and dinner and hosting special events throughout the year.
(Please note - our restaurant usually takes bookings two weeks in advance so please do reserve your table quickly! There are no tables set aside for residents!)
The Grove really is a very special place steeped in history, which has been offering accommodation by the same family for 78 years. We like sharing it; and aim to provide you with the space and tranquility to genuinely slow down and relax. The heated indoor pool is ideal for children and adults alike. We are also close enough to Cromer to be able to wander into the town and to the cliffs and pier.
North Norfolk has plenty to offer from numerous stately homes, and National Trust properties, places of interest, bird reserves, to beautiful unspoilt beaches and market towns. There is also lots to do for children. Cromer has its own zoo and go-kart track, and North Norfolk as a whole ranges from boating on the Broads, to adventures in Bewilderwood.
For the golfers, The Royal Cromer Golf Club is about a par 5 away, so couldn't be more convenient.

Bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen area were satisfactory, apart from the odd broken lamp shade, however the lounge area seating was very uncomfortable. It may be comfortable for dogs but not humans as it very low and the cushions are very soft and do not provide any support. We had to pile up the cushions on top of each other to enable us to use them. We are really sorry to submit this review but feel you should be aware of the situation.

Our first stay in The Stable Cottage. It had everything you need for a self catering break. Immaculately presented and comfortable. As always the hotel staff were friendly and professional. We had an exceptional breakfast in the hotel, prior to departure.

Cosy, near Cromer centre in easy walking distance, clean and suits our needs.

Wonderful food. Great ambiance

Love the location so near to Cromer. We didn’t use the car at all. Swimming pool needs TLC at entrance & changing rooms . Everyone friendly & helpful. Self catering had everything needed. Bedroom light shades when lit look broken. A perfect place to spend some time away.

Relaxing, enjoyable stay and lovely breakfast.

Super little accomodation with all that you could need provided.
A few little jobs around the place need snagging, but I'm sure they will be sorted during the off season, but none of them detract from the experience.
Plenty of parking, and although next to the road the noise isn't a problem.
Short walk through the excellent gardens and woods via the coast path into town, or by road if preferred. Only 3 ponds taxi from town back to the Grove if needed.

The location was great, the staff were friendly and the rooms were good.

We had no contact prior to our stay or warning of renovations & subsequent closures. We were upset that the complimentary breakfast wasn’t available & our plans to eat at the restaurant were ruined. The cottage was nice, but tired & in need of repair. The floor was broken, as was the bath (our toddler found the screw!). The bath sealant was mouldy & lifted, the shower attachment leaked and was ineffective. The pool was essential for us, but unfortunately, we hadn’t realised use was so restricted

Peaceful and restful. Availability of restaurant and swimming, plus extensive gardens to relax in. A decent walk into Cromer which suits us. Nothing is too much trouble if requested, and everyone is so friendly.

We returned to the grove because it meets our requirements and has useful bonuses like private indoor pool and free working(!) WIFI. It also has added tv's in both bedrooms we stayed in.

I was staying because I was going to a wedding nearby on the Saturday. I was there on my own.

Picked The Stables as it had onsite parking, was in walking distance of the centre of Cromer and did not have the set arrival and departure days other self-catering properties adhere to.
Quirky building, well converted, with large rooms. Thick walls, good heating and quiet.

We stayed in Stable Cottage. This was ideal as we have relatives in the area so wanted flexibility. Cottage was great, very roomy, well equipped, good bedrooms and everything worked. Having the hotel close was excellent although tbh we didn't make full use of it and will do when we return next time
