About this bed and breakfast
Upper Cottage has its own entrance to the side with stairs that lead to a double, open plan apartment with facilities similar to that of Lower Cottage.
The Queens is a freehold, family run pub set in the heart of the historic town of Ludlow. Tim & Jane have been at The Queens since December 1999 and in that time have adapted and renovated the premises extensively. We have been in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for three consecutive years and serve good local ales.
Our beautiful vaulted ceiling restaurant is at the rear of the pub. Our open plan design means you have a good atmosphere throughout, but the restaurant is set back from the bar to allow quieter dining. We serve good, homemade food which is locally sourced where possible. The restaurant is open lunchtimes & evenings 6 days a week.
The Queens has an ‘Open Plan’ design with three distinct areas that merge nicely together. The ‘Red’ bar has a tiled area where dogs are welcome and comfy leather sofas for you to relax on. The main bar has solid oak flooring and low beamed ceilings which give a cosy atmosphere. This flows, down a couple of steps, into our beautiful, vaulted roof restaurant.
Please note that due to the current Covid situation we are unable to provide parking as we have erected a marquee on our car parking area. This is for people who feel more comfortable outside.

Excelent Accomodation, we were very happy during our stay, its central to Ludlow town center. The resturant was full booked so unfortunately couldnt eat there. The bar was always busy with locals so is a popular venue. We wil return again soon.

Jane, The owner of The Queens was so friendly and helpfull. She went above and beyond in helping us. We were supporting our son and his friends who were cycling from Land's End in Cornwall, to John O'Groats in North East Scothand, LEJOG. It is a perfect place for cyclists as there is space for bikes in a locked yard and outdoor tables where groups can eat. The Bar itself is also lovely with a great variety of drinks available. I cannot recommend it enough as a stop over for cyclists.

We arrived in time for lunch on the first day and had dinner that evening as well. The food and service was exceptionally good and the staff were really kind and helpful.

What a find! Normally struggle to get accommodation in the middle of Ludlow during this particular weekend but we were really pleased that we stumbled upon the Queens on the internet. Stayed in the Upper Cottage which was fully fitted with everything we needed. Only (slight) problem was that the Freeview TV didn't seem to like BBC 1 or 2 and kept freezing on those channels, but a minor niggle only. If you fancy a hot breakfast let Jane know and a voucher for the nearby cafe is available.

The room is done up with quality furnishings and attention has been given to detail. Plentiful tea and "proper" coffee plus milk, biscuits, jam and butter. Breakfast is provided by the cafe across the road which was also superb. Sunday lunch at the Queen's is plentiful and excellent quality. Jane is a fabulous host and most helpful. You won't be disappointed!

A comfortable room with good facilities, but would benefit from thicker curtains

Room was nice, lovely bathroom. The upper cottage was a bit bright as there wasn't a shade for the ceiling window and the blinds weren't very effective. Bed mattress was a bit too soft
