You have discovered a beautiful, private, sound-front vacation home for your entire family. This home provides sweeping views of the Pamlico Sound from a secluded cove among Buxton's live oak trees. The views of the sound will take your breath away, and you'll discover a grand abundance of wildlife. The water has no undertow, and the gradually-increasing water depth makes this beach just right for children. You'll love lounging, working on that tan, kayaking, kiteboarding (with room to set up your rigging), paddleboarding, or pursuing other aquatic sports with perfect winds. When you follow the meandering, 50-foot, private walkway from the home to the water, it will take you to your own white sandy beach while winding under an umbrella of live oak trees, which is as close to a tropical island setting as one can find on Hatteras Island. This home will help you get some time to kick back, relax, and watch the bald eagles soar with the wind. Spend your afternoons fishing, gigging, clamming, and shrimping right in The Treehouse's backyard. If this is not to your liking, various restaurants are available and within a short drive in either direction on NC12. The home itself is top-notch, with a full kitchen, a large dining area, a beautiful living room area, and an adjacent sitting room, perfect for tucking in and reading a great book.

It was perfect for 3 couples. Everyone had a bathroom. The beach area was awesome. We didn’t have any kids with us,but they would’ve loved it.

Lovely location in the trees, high up above the soundfront beach, tiki bar and shade at the beach; house has pretty much everything you need for a wonderful stay. GREAT northerly windsurfing or kiteboarding out front (not good for Southerlies).

We enjoyed our time at the Treehouse! We celebrated Christmas with my parents and kids. The views are amazing! The house is fully equipped with a fantastic, updated kitchen.

We arrived at the house after the carpets had been shampooed which is awesome they were clean but it took a couple of days for them to dry and it made navigating off carpet slippery. The house was set up very nice, definitely appreciated the soaps, dish detergents provided to get us started! Loved the location for us and it's own beach area on the sound makes this perfect for families with kids.

The house location, the setting, and the private beach, were much better than we expected. The listing in VRBO did not specify all the amenities. There were 2 canoes, 2 kayaks (1 adult, 1 kid size), a large floating water mat, life jackets, noodles, LP gas grill, charcoal grill, blender, many kitchen utensils, pots, pans, etc. (more than I’ve seen in other rentals), office supplies, books, many many games and puzzles. When you arrive, check all the drawers and cabinets - you’ll find lots. The huge top deck has a high unobstructed view of the sound and overlooks the beach. The wood is a bit weathered and some of the furniture and trim showed some age - but it was all clean and comfortable. The house sits on a low ridge among the trees that line the beach. This gave us a feeling of privacy and being right on the beach. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us (age 92 to 21 months) and we had a great time.

Beautiful Views Beautiful Property
Excellent location, house and Sound view. The house was nicely decorated and the upstairs bed was super comfy. The only issue was finding the property because GPS took us to The Sandbar Restaurant. LOL

Beautiful setting
Home is beautiful, furnished nicely, all appliances work as they should except right front burner of range needs replaced. It is warped and doesn’t burn correctly. The kitchen is very well stocked with all you could want for a large crowd.
It is obviously a popular spot and some repairs are needed to windows, doors, walls and ceiling.
We appreciated the comfortable king bed on the top floor and the tall deck chairs with a great view. The hot tub was most welcome during some cool and rainy weather
Highway 12is a busy road and traffic noise is a distraction for this location.
A ramp to the beach would be a nice addition instead of another set of steps.

Great House & Location
This house has almost everything you need: kitchen is loaded with tons of cookware and utensils, there is a baby gate and pack-n-play, picnic table on the sound, hammock on the beach, kayak, canoes, beach chairs, sand toys, tons of books, games and movies!!! The house was clean and comfortable, deck view of the sound is amazing and the sound access was perfect for my two toddlers!!! We will definitely be booking again next year!

The good...
Nice location, great views, and it's very quiet.
The bad...
The house is nice but needs some TLC... torn screens, light fixtures falling out, and ceiling cracking apart.
We were there Saturday- Saturday and for the first 4 days we had no ac and it was 80 degrees in the house. After several phone calls a day for 3 days they finally fixed the ac.
The hot tub has no filter in it and was never put in even though I ask them to.

First Time to OBX
We had an overall great time. With everything the rental property had to offer there was always something to do. The view was awesome and a great way to start the day on the deck with a cup of coffee. The wildlife in the sound was fun to explore.

Relaxing
This property is very nice and comfortable but due to an issue with the property management's cleaning crew not showing up to clean from the prior tenants we were not able to check in until 7 p.m.- that made for a long and stressful day after traveling 5 hours to get to the property.
I also want to mention that the house is on stilts and when someone walks in the house I felt a slight vibration. Other than that, we loved it!

This is our second visit to this wonderfully located house -- will come back!
The porch swing on the second deck is a hazard. The two chains are not attached to their hooks properly and if you sit on it you get dumped onto the deck.

Nice house, nice sound front
Seemed like it was going to be a nice place to stay. We only had 2 days before Florence evacuation. Hope it survives
