I'll start with we will definitely be back. The house was so comfortable and cozy. Definitely everything and more as advertised. The beach area and deck provided the peace and quiet we were looking for. The host/hostess were beyond kind and accommodating

Perfect for those who want to relax in charm and simplicity. Will choose this property again.

A lovely lakeside location in a spacious characterful home with all modern conveniences. The deck is a great place to relax and watch the sunset/ sunrise but remember to pack some bug repellent/ citronella candles! Shops and restaurants are within a short drive. Nice experience - thank you!

My best friend and I took our 3 kids and our moms here for Spring Break. We had such a great time, especially kayaking on the lake. It was so nice to wake up, have coffee and go kayaking. We truly enjoyed ourselves. The kids loved the board games, especially twister. You literally just need to pack your clothes, bathing suit, sun screen and stop at Walmart which is 5 minutes away for groceries, I'd also pick up a few rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. Bring a flash light or two because it does get very dark there.
Everything else you need is there!!

We had a great time at this lake house and enjoyed our stay. Becky, our host, was helpful and easy to work with.

I have to start with the positive, because there were quite a few things we loved about this home. We happily embraced its antique southern charm, and a beautiful lake, complete with
deck and beach. We have no problem with old, squeaky iron beds, and unique antique items throughout. Be sure to inspect them and take photos upon arrival, as we found a few things broken, such as the coffee table foot. We sent these to the owner immediately, so she could be aware.
However things that should not be found in ANY short term rental are threadbare, blood-stained sheets. Antiques can be old. Sheets should not be. When both the upper and lower sheets of several beds are peppered with blood spots, that is not at all charming. Those are deal-breakers. Other problems made us even question whether the linens had been washed prior to our arrival. The shower floor had an old used washcloth and soap. Towels wreaked of mold/mildew smells. And the ceilings had water stains and visible black mold spots. The place has beautiful bones, but these are serious concerns for anyone sensitive to mold. We reached out to the owner who simply said she would let cleaning services know and she would have it taken care of after we leave. No compensation was offered, despite our request, and no other recourse except to use the additional linens in the closet which also contained the same moldy smells.
To be good sports, we attempted to wash both the sheets and towels ourselves….until we opened the washer. I have never seen such a mold-filled unsanitary washing machine in my life. Thick overwhelming black mold along the gasket, and mold smell. I wish I could attach photos of everything. We ran a couple loads of water and Citric Acid to attempt to clean the washer itself. But the smell and mold remained.
If bloody unclean linens and moldy ceilings do not scare you off, I would suggest you take pictures before and after. Also be prepared to buy your own Propane as we were informed on xmas weekend that Propane was not guaranteed to be included with the grill. A grill without propane doesn’t do much good. So a last minute trip to town was required.
If you just want a lake, bring your own linens and mildew spray.

We loved our stay. It's one of those houses you can just imagine all grown kids coming home for a holiday and all their kids running and playing outside. A good Ole Norman Rockwell painting. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck and relaxing. The shower in the main bathroom is a little short. If you're over 6' you may want to shower upstairs. Several different rooms available for groups of people to play games, mingle or just read quietly.

The home was beautiful and had everything to make our stay comfortable. We absolutely loved the antique furniture and the charm of that old home.. very unique. The Lake and beautiful property were amazing. We spent a lot of time on dock and even did some fishing and canoeing and bon fire. Such a relaxing atmosphere especially for a bunch of “mature” (didn’t want to say old lol) people and some not in the best of health who were able to enjoy it too. The location was perfect for all as we traveled from different directions. We are all hoping to make this a yearly event at this location.
Host was amazing, answering my messages quickly. She was very helpful and accommodating.

Loved it! If you like antiques, the charm of an old home and a view that is phenomenal… then, this is it! Had a great time.
Only change I would suggest would be to update the master shower.
Everything else was perfect!!
Thank you!

We were in the area on business and she made it very easy to book and the place was perfect for our group.

I loved the old structure of the house, and all the beautiful antiques, beautiful location. We stayed in the house with hurricane Ian coming right over us. The house held up very well, and you couldn't hear what was going on outside. I felt very safe there. I liked how it is furnished with plenty of towels and clean linens and throw blankets. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals. I will definitely be coming back.

The rental was terrific, and the owner was very easy to communicate with. Beautiful sunsets on the beach and deck, and a great fire pit on the beach. The house was roomy and cozy, and the beds were comfortable.
Overall I think it was great for a quick getaway or a longer stay. Highly recommended!

Exactly as described & then some! Completely got to disconnect & unwind. Stayed 3 nights & didn't want to leave (already wondering when we can go again)! Was just the 2 of us & felt like we were in an enormous, yet very cozy & ever so quaint home! I wasn't 100% how much privacy on lake to expect, reading it was in front of the house, across a small dirt passage - but it's basically part of the front yard & felt 100% private walking over there (after rolling out of bed holding coffee or an adult beverage). You pass 1 gorgeous/newer house on the little passage, driving to this Old Florida Rare Gem Home & I'd assumed we'd be seeing them as everyone shares the lake - but not once & even if did - the private beach/tree deck area is still far away enough "just a wave" would have sufficed. Every time of day was perfect there & felt like we weren't even in FL anymore (aside from the sun). I way over packed on essentials not needed (just an fyi)...they have tupperware to store food in, common spices, every type of glass /plate - everything needed in a kitchen all set up (& neatly labeled cabinets/drawers so you aren't hunting). Also have Keurig coffee maker & a regular pot coffee maker - brought everything from own sponge, salt, aluminum foil, storage bags, garbage bags, can opener - etc. etc & didn't need to have packed any of that...(nice to know for our next time, as will make packing a cinch)! Only left the home 1 evening try the fried chicken I'd read a review about in town (...and was awesome). Grilled the other 2 nights, husband opted to use the charcoal grill (as they are side by side) as we only have propane at home & the charcoal seemed "fitting". Nice grill lighting on the trees too - so cooking was a breeze. Brought our own charcoal & lighter fluid (but learned didn't need that when got there too) - although owner had already said they aren't positive of levels of propane or charcoal there - as each guest may or may not use & likely leave some left overs for the next guest (only reason we didn't leave our bug spray or charcoal - as literally grabbed our only stash off our own porch as think we have more bugs in South FL, than they do up there - as bugs were not an issue for us (perhaps time of year).
Everything was pristine clean, (& didn't need all the toilet paper I packed either as well stocked bathrooms too). Just pack up & just go...doesn't matter what you pack as won't see anyone (unless you really want to). Can't wait to return!

Perfect Central Florida getaway
An awesome place! Yes, an older house, but super clean and stocked up with everything you need! We spent most of the time kayaking and swimming in a beautiful, almost private-like lake. Fire on a beach, grilling, just enjoying the outdoors - what else is needed for a perfect vacation?! Will definitely be back soon!

Such a beautiful house. Love the old Florida feel with the furniture in home. So cozy and comfortable. Amazing views on the lake and amole seating to enjoy it. Love the beach for our 1.5 year old to test the waters and play in the sand. Great proximity to stores and things to do. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this home!

We stayed here in late 2021. When we needed to come back into the area, I specifically looked for this place again and luckily it was available. Large beach, giant deck, and spacious home make for a very enjoyable experience for larger groups. We will miss it!

First vacation since Covid... been busy working making life easier for others and was definitely ready to unwind. My spry 90 year old mother, her shihpoo Lexi, my yorkie mix Snickers, and I thoroughly enjoyed this oasis. All the comforts of home and then some.... Becky has seemingly thought of everything inside and out.
A lovely lakeside home, large yard, phenomenal deck, beautiful white sand beach, and clear, clean lake water. So many spaces to relax and enjoy on your own or with the company of others. The opportunity to enjoy this home is a true gift.
Thank you, Becky. We will be back!

This is our 2nd year to stay at this charming older home for a few days when we needed a quiet, peaceful, change of scenery. The property is lovely with large shade trees, the wonderful deck overlooking a peaceful lake and gorgeous white sand beach with kayaks and a row boat. Everything we needed to feel at home was there in the house. We will definitely do this again!

The house is old but clean. The lighting is very poor and the stairs are slippery and a little tricky. We did have a small fall because of it resulting in a sprained ankle. Lighting and floors were called out in the description. The house did give us plenty of room and communication was excellent. We would come back

Our best rental ever. We stayed for two weeks and had family from Vero Beach and Sarasota join us for a couple days. The house has been modernized while maintaining the original character. Everything you need is provided (and more). Beds were comfortable. Location is very private with only a couple of neighbors. But the biggest plus for us was the deck and white sand beach. Just awesome!
