There seemed to be all the dishes and appliances that anyone would need. Everything worked. New carpet and kitchen flooring. This property is acceptable for its price point.

Me and others were in town for an event. The house was fully stocked, it was as is like described in the he listing and the host was AMAZING and very accommodating. Quick to respond and met all our needs. Location was great, quiet neighborhood and close to our event. Would definitely stay again

This little house was perfect for our stay in Springfield. We were there for 3 nights for a family reunion with our 3 kids. The house is centrally located, so a very reasonable drive from all of the various places and family members we had to visit while in town. The gameroom in the basement was a big hit with the kids and adults alike. The host was very gracious and accommodating. We had a great stay!

We had an overnight here and it was just what we needed!

Simple and clean. Property was as advertised.

Enjoyed our stay. Quite a bit of street noise.

Stayed here for a week to attend a livestock show at the Fairgrounds with my wife and 3 teenage daughters. Surprisingly, the one bathroom was not an issue for us. House was super clean and comfortable. Game room in the basement was a lot of fun. Driveway is a little tight for a bigger truck/SUV but manageable. All in all, it's a great house and the owner was honest and fair in the listing.

Working in the area and rented the home for the week. Eric was very accessible. Thanks.

House is as advertised! brought my dog with, she loved to run around in the yard and the basement. Yard not completely fenced in just an FYI! Located on a busy street, pup was kind of skittish with all the traffic noise at night but it wasn't excessive. Located in the center of everything. Would stay again!

Cute and cozy. Thought the street was very busy. The location was close to attractions, the Lincoln museum, library, tomb and the Capital building

Great little house! Great location to all the things Springfield has to offer!

A little outdated however in good clean condition. Kids loved the air hockey and the multiple games on the upright game system.

The house was very clean. Communication was great. The downstairs was a wonderful entertainment area for children and adults alike. We look forward to renting here again.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eric's charming Springfield home. Its quaint appeal and proximity to local attractions set a positive tone for our trip. Eric's attentiveness, such as providing an Atari for the kids when the arcade game wasn't working, was evident throughout. The backyard provided a safe space for our 6 children to play, adding to the family-friendly atmosphere of the home. However, one aspect that could use some improvement is the shower. While the overall cleanliness of the home was satisfactory, the shower stood out as an area that could benefit from some attention. The shower curtain appeared worn and in need of replacement, and the shower head had some issues with functionality, making it difficult to adjust the water temperature properly. Additionally, we noticed some grime buildup on the shower walls, indicating that a more thorough cleaning may be needed in this area. Despite these minor drawbacks, we were able to manage and still have a comfortable experience overall. Another aspect worth mentioning is the driveway. While it didn't pose a significant issue, the narrow driveway with a drop-off was a minor inconvenience, especially when backing in. Overall, we found the accommodations to be quite comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep and our experience at Eric's Springfield home was very positive. The charming ambiance, convenient location, and attentive host made for a memorable stay.

Property was fine. However, the street in front is busy making it difficult to sleep.

We found this house to be very conveniently located for our family to visit Springfield. The location is only minutes from all the great tourist sites and a few minutes drive from eating and shopping. The house was very clean and up to date. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the extra amenities were appreciated. The neighboring homes are very close and that somewhat affected our stay but I also realize there is nothing about that within the property owners control. The property owner was excellent with communication and quick to help when needed. I would recommend this location for your stay in Springfield.

Everything was great ! From check in process to the house and location. Thank you !

The house was cozy, and I would stay here again. But there are some things future guests should know.
First, I was given the wrong access code for the house. To make matters worse, I was also given the wrong phone number for the owner. I waited at the house for 2 hours to get in.
I finally reached the owner by sending a message through Vrbo. He called me immediately, but his demeanor was a bit brusque. He should have been more sympathetic given it was his fault for listing the wrong door code and contact number.
To be fair, he gave me a $30 credit, which I appreciated. I do think the owner cares about being a good host, but his customer service could be better.
Some things to keep in mind:
There isn’t a single lamp in the house. If you’re not a fan of overhead lights, this will be an issue. Also, the only lock on the front door is the keypad and a chain lock. A deadbolt would be safer.
The house was pretty clean overall, but as others have noted, the house needs a deep cleaning.
The shower curtain liner in the bathroom was covered in pink mildew. I ended up getting a $3 liner from Target, but the housekeeper should have noticed this.
The refrigerator could have been cleaner. I had to scrub down the surfaces and throw away used medicine that was left behind (yuck).
The living room was spotless. The bedrooms were clean, but there’s a weird smell in one of the bedrooms. It seemed like lingering body odor, perhaps from a previous guest. Not sure.
Also, the dryer didn’t work. I only realized this after washing my clothes. This was a huge hassle.
The neighborhood’s fairly quiet. Keep in mind the house is on a busy street, so you’ll hear some traffic sounds, kids playing, dogs barking, etc. Nothing over the top, though.
The leather recliner couch in the living room is comfy. There’s also an 80s arcade game in the basement, which is a really fun way to kill time while doing laundry.
Even though there were some issues, I liked this house and would stay here again.

Chasing Lincoln
The house was absolutely perfect for our stay in Springfield. It was close to all of the Lincoln sites and was in a very safe part of town. The house was perfect for my family and I stay in, and had an extra bonus of an old school arcade game. We loved our stay and recommend this house to anyone visiting Springfield.
