About this house rental
The Retro Retreat is a self-contained holiday house in the heart of Forrest.
The location is a short stroll to the Forrest Brewery & General Store and very close to the newly revamped Southern MTB Trailhead.
There are so many local activities to enjoy in all weather conditions. Bushwalk around Lake Elizabeth and try to spot platypus, stroll up to the Barwon Dam and soak in the sights and sounds of the forest. Stevensons Falls has just had a super special facelift and is natures paradise - a great spot for a picnic. Or just relax on the deck or in front of the fire with a good book.
The house is spacious with a definite retro theme to its interior. Comprising of two bedrooms, dining room, lounge room, kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. A large balcony extends along the back of the house with seating and a gas BBQ.
The deck overlooks the large backyard and beyond to the hills and dam. Sitting on the super comfy refurbished lounge in the Balinese gazebo you can watch ducks wander up and listen to the many native birds nesting in the trees.
We have added a lovely outdoor bath for you to enjoy the beauty of the night sky whilst soaking your bones listening to the sounds of the night.
A fire pit and seating complete the yard and make for a great night outdoors when the weather permits.
Please note this fire pit is not available during summer or when fire bans are enforced in this area.

Loved our stay at this retro shack in the heart of Forrest. Perfectly located for getting onto trails and handy to brewery, general store. Everything we needed for a weekend in the beautiful Otways.

The property had everything we needed and was very close to the shops and brewery. Beautiful yard with lots of seating options. It really feels like a home away from home. We will be back.

Great views from deck. Kitchen is practical and has the minor bits and pieces. The fireplace is great as is the outdoor bath, best bath of my life!

We enjoyed our stay! Clean house, welcomed warmth of the fire pit outside as well as the option for fireplace inside stocked with wood, or the reverse cycle on the wall. Enclosed yard for the dogs (though our little dogs managed to dig a space under the side gate and joined some young fellas from town on their bike ride!!) Facilities were great and a variety of fun things to do in the area to keep family entertained (beach or bushwalking options + Otway treetop walk). Would stay again!! Thanks : )

A slight mix up to begin with, however our host Phoebe couldn't have assisted us more. Very apologetic and very generous and courteous.
The cottage was very homely and had all the little extras that just make it so enjoyable & comfortable. Thanks to Phoebe mainly as she made the whole experience as pleasant as possible at all times. We couldn't recommend Phoebe and Retro retreat high enough.

We really enjoyed the overall experience of the property. Sadly the double bed was less than comfortable and the air conditioner on this side of the house did not really work well leaving us hot and bothered on our first night. Very well stockcked pantry cheered us up a little. We were much happier when the weather cooled down.

Great Base for Biking in Forrest
This property was great for a couple of days MTB riding and walks in Forrest, great location in centre of town, beautiful views out back to bush, we woke each morning to beautiful birdsong(occasional noise from trucks on road but to be expected) Well equipped comfortable accommodation, basic but suitable for purpose. Cabin was surprisingly warm and cozy

We loved our long weekend here. The property was clean and had almost everything we needed. Great location in the centre of town but plenty of space, and wonderful views over the paddocks. The owner was very helpful, easy to deal with and replied to all messages very promptly.
