They are completely separate but do share the private beach.

With a screened in lower porch to enjoy evenings and an upper open patio for relaxation there is plenty of space to enjoy.

The house was very clean.

Terrific vacation place. The place was clean and modern. The kitchen was very well- equipped. Wifi and AC worked well. The beach was quiet and the water ok to swim in (some algae but to be expected this time of year and with such a hot summer). Some areas had stones so I would recommend water shoes. There’s a park within walking distance for volleyball, tennis, pickleball. We enjoyed it all.
We ate every meal in the sun room, which became our favourite room in the house. The beds were very comfortable. My daughter especially liked the motorized shade in the skylight above the bed in the alcove outside the master bedroom. Great touch.

We came to Lake Erie in Port Colborne, Canada to view the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 as a family who enjoys traveling together and doing different astronomy themed excursions. Even though our stay was short and sweet (only 4 days) we returned home with fantastic photos, everlasting memories, a desire to return again sooner than later, and the feeling as if we’d been on a 2 week vacation, completely relaxed and refreshed. Thank you so much for sharing the welcoming cabin with us.

Home was super clean and very well equipped for an enjoyable stay. Owner was responsive. We are a family with small children, and the sleeping arrangements were perfect- the kids loved the loft area (and the motorized blind for the skylight was great for nap time). Highly recommend!

I loved it and enjoyed this place from the second number one and pleasantly surprised how good owners maintain the place. It's nice and clean well air conditioned, they though of every little tiny detail to make it good. I love it and it's gonna be very hard for me to beat this, and find my next place for vacation same good or even close to this one. I recommend it to everyone. It's just a piece of paradise on the earth

Enjoyed our week long stay at Shady Shores. Very nicely appointed and spacious. You're always taking a day-to-day chance on beach conditions, but I'd rate the beach that week about a 6/10.

Great property! It provided space for our family with older kids. Location allows you to get to places easily. Fantastic small towns to visit and VERY short drive to Niagara. Walks on the beach were fantastic. The beach is beautiful; however, felt like we were intruding on the other house due to the path to get to the stairs. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The cottage was perfect. My daughter used the cottage for wedding Day prep with her bridesmaids, then family stayed over. Fully equipped, great communication, so cute !

This cottage exceeded our expectations. Very well designed/ decor. Extremely clean. Close to beach you can hear the water but not quite in view. You are able to go down to the beach within a short walk.
Teri the property manager was organized, accommodating and prompt to respond.
I would recommend this stay at Cedar Bay

Our stay here was enjoyable and the house has much to offer for a family staying on the lake. The house is updated with modern appliances, furnishings, wifi and smart TVs. The air conditioning is quite nice, and not something you get at many lake rentals. The screened porch is also relaxing and a nice place to have lunch or dinner. We loved being close to Bodner's as well, one of the best butcher counters in the area.
Unfortunately, compared to other rentals we have had, this house is not appointed very well. Only one roll of TP per bathroom for the entire week, no kleenex, no napkins or paper towels, not even salt and pepper in the kitchen. Many of the doors did not close or latch, light bulbs are mismatched between soft white and daylight in the same room, and some bulbs are out altogether. I even had to repair one of the door handles to the screen porch which slid right off, thankfully I travel with tools. On a cool day, we decided to open windows and every sill was filthy with dead bugs, and I had to clean them.
If you are looking for a vacation where you can sleep in, this is probably not the place for you. East facing skylights are above both beds on the second floor. The other beds are in the basement which can be quite cold, but it is dark in the morning. While no one can control the lake conditions (and noted in the description), the most disappointing thing about our beach rental was the black algae in the water, making the beach unusable for most of the week. Thankfully it did clear out on our last day here, but compared to Crystal Beach the bay here has more variable water conditions. This is a decent rental, but we definitely had some surprises during our week-long stay.

This is a beautiful cottage which accommodated a large part of our family. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and well appointed and most of the remainder of the cottage very nice. The setting in the trees is very appealing. The embankment at the beach offers a spectacular beach view.
However, a couple of issues should be addressed. The lower level with two beds is actually a basement. The small windows are a concern for emergency exit. Also, there was a urine smell at the bottom of the stairs.
The property manager, Teri, responded quickly to a concern about the air conditioning and overall was easily contacted as required.
