Say hello to the completely remodeled Drift Away in a prime location just one block to the beach & 2 blocks to the Seaside Amphitheater. Bright and cheery coastal decor welcomes you in every sunny space.
Drift Away is a combination of the main home (4 bedroom) and the Suite (1bedroom) combined with double the space to provide for large families with children or as a two family-shared accommodation with plenty of privacy. Upon entrance the generous screened in porch has several outdoor seating accommodations. There are two rockers at the front door, a favorite morning coffee location and next is an adjacent outdoor dining area for four. Behind the dining alfresco setup up is a comfortable lounge seating area and an additional rocker set up. This expansive wrap around porch is a family favorite for evening meals outdoors and perfect location for visiting with family and friends.
The first floor includes two living areas, two dining areas, two fully-equipped kitchens, and two full baths (shower only). The combined open floor plan has the primary living, dining, and kitchen at the front of the home. The renovated kitchen has all all stainless steel appliances and a fun retro green fridge for a fun beach vacation vibe. The kitchen features a four burner electric stove and adjacent bar seating for three more. There is an adjacent dining area that comfortably seats eight. The first bedroom is a queen bedroom at the front of the home with plenty of natural light and the second bedroom features two twins at the rear of the home. These two bedrooms share a renovated shared hall bathroom with a single vanity and a glass enclosed walk in shower.
At the rear of the home you will find the third bedroom, a king with a shared full hall bath (shower only). There is the secondary living area off the king bedroom with a full kitchen, bar seating for three, and adjacent dining area for four. The living room features a queen sleeper sofa for two more. On the second floor are the final two bedrooms with a shared full bathroom with a shower only. The fourth bedroom up features a king bed and the fifth bedroom up has two twins. All Drift Away units and the Hide Away cottage share one washer/dryer that is located under the stairwell at Hide Away.
This cottage may also be rented as Drift Away Main (4-bedroom) cottage or a Drift Away Suite (1-bedroom) during Fall, Winter, or Spring only. There is also a separate carriage house, Hide Away, which is a 1 bedroom stand alone guest cottage available for rent separately in addition to Drift Away if you need more room.
There is shared driveway parking for this unit. The carriage house, Hide Away may also be rented at the same time, and guests will have first come/first served driveway parking.

We have stayed in multiple other homes in Seaside and this one was a standout due to the spacious screened-in porch. It allowed the family to utilize the outdoor space throughout the day. The home's location was great (close to beach, town, and the playground) and its condition was good.

The Homeowner's Collection made our stay feel like a true vacation. Its five bedrooms make it ideal for larger families, especially those with young children. However, the shared bathrooms on both floors would be less suitable for older children. It was a fantastic week in Seaside.

Drift Away has been a core home for the Longleaf Writers Conference for a number of years and is always clean and well-appointed and is the perfect place to have access to Seaside, the beach, or just to sit on the lovely enclosed patio. The way the home is set up allows everyone to have privacy but also have a space to sit and enjoy their community.

We love the Seaside experience and we have vacationed there for 10+ years. We did have issues with the door code (3 new codes for the week) and plumbing issues with slow drains. Had a shower handle problem with maintenance promptly repairing it. Disappointed that we were not aware we would be sharing a washer/dryer with other units. Main Refrigerator did not have all the shelves in the door and made storage difficult. Great AC units, enjoyed the kitchen layout and loved the large porch and location of the unit the most. Very convenient to everything.

This home is perfectly located! One street over from the square and steps away from the entrance to the fitness center and pool. The beach entrance is soooo close. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. And the screened in porch is amazing!
The rooms are small but comfortable. Plenty of linens. The kitchen has everything you need—plenty of place settings, drip coffee maker, one serving Keurig, blender and lots of pots and pans. There aren’t any plastic storage containers for left overs so bring those with you if you plan on cooking for yourself some days.
There were only two negatives—the kitchen sink sprayer needs to be repaired. It is difficult to get it to turn off most of the time. So don’t use it until it is repaired. The listing says “no pets” but it was obvious the house had certainly had pets before our visit. We found clumps of animal hair in the corners of the living room and the front bedroom had animal hair on the pillows. We laundered the linens in that room and moved on. The corners of the home and under the couches and beds could use a good cleaning.
FYI, the laundry facility for the house is under the Hideaway cottage in its own little room. It is not in the Drift Away house.
Communication with the rental agent was great. He/she was timely and kind.
We would certainly stay here again!

While there was room for everyone in our party of 9 to place their head the common living space was abysmally small. There was just no where to go.... And there are not enough bathrooms without having to traverse the living room. We have been coming to Seaside for 12+ years. Would not rent this home again for our size family.
