We had a very comfortable stay in Gwen's property!

The house was clean, spacious, and conveniently located! Beds were very comfortable, and it was very close to the convention center and SAP center.

Great location to San Jose State University! Back yard was great setting to relax.

This is a top ten percent place. Though the listing reads "cozy," there's plenty of room and the separate/private room in the backyard is a big plus.
The house is a great mix of adorable decades old style within a modern renovation - notably modern kitchen and bathrooms.
The back yard was actually our favorite part. With the ideal weather and comfortable seating our group enjoyed most of social time there.
I've read the other reviews and yes there are airplanes overhead from time to time, yest there's some traffic noise and we had some noisy neighbors one night. Part of what makes this place great is how close it is to everything anyone would want to do in San Jose or Santa Clara. These are urban places; quiet solitude is not normally found in such places.
We didn't meet our property manager, but she was responsive and helpful. We didn't have any significant issues during our stay.
Perhaps the only thing that bothered us was the surveillance camera pointed toward the backyard - which was, in effect, our living room. Nevertheless, the icky feelign of being watched didn't prevent us from loving our time out there.

Had a great month at this cozy property. Very clean and communication with property manager was great. Yard space was nice to enjoy the great weather. Separate cottage was perfect office. Walked to downtown restaurants as well as around the block to San Jose Little Italy which is a must for cocktails and food. Loved Pasono’s
Great if in town for Sharks game or event at SAP center. Overall this is a nice place to stay and we were very comfortable.

Super comfortable/cozy house. Everything is actually as described but even more well thought at and equipped - beds were super comfy. Feels more like your own home than many VRBOs

The location was what drew me to the home, about a block away from SAP center it was extremely convenient. The house itself was very clean and welcoming.

The cottage was in close proximity to all of our wedding activities, which was why I chose it. It was nicely appointed and there wasn’t anything we wished the house had. Family members had stopped by to see us throughout the weekend so it was nice to be centrally located. There were a lot of house rules regarding noise and mentioning of being evicted if neighbors complained. Totally understandable but we could never be noisier than the construction going on around us and the constant noise of being in the flight pattern for the airport.

Myself and a couple of my work team mates stayed at the property to attend a conference at the Convention Center. It was a great location, just about a 10 min walk to downtown, and about 15 to convention center or an $8 uber. We enjoyed that the house was in a good location and had great outdoor space in the back that was exclusive and enjoyable to hang out at. We will look to stay next year as well. The owner was very responsive and considerate while booking and staying.

We were in town with family (5 of us total) for my son's graduation from Santa Clara. This was a perfect spot for us to gather and chill when we weren't on campus for the festivities. The place was spotless and welcoming, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the towels and sheets were soft. The yard between the main house and the cottage is a lovely place to have coffee in the morning (nice Keurig, by the way!) and there is parking right in the driveway. The house is super close to grocery shopping, restaurants on the Alameda, and about 3 miles to the Santa Clara campus -- quick drive. Gwen was super responsive and helpful. OK the planes are noisy but we noticed they stopped after about 1030pm. The detached cottage does not have its own bathroom but it's convenient to use the one steps away, thru the back door of the main house. The detached cottage has a mini-split for AC; the main house has a Nest thermostat and if you're not familiar with these, you can figure it out by watching a short YouTube video. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it!

My family went to the San Jose Sharks game and love this house’s proximity to the Shark tank! We walked to dinner each night and bought groceries at Whole Foods. The house impeccable clean and comfortable. We had such a good time we will check out the availability of the little house for future games.

The heat does not work in the living room. Upon arriving the place was so cold, it took over 24 hours to get semi warm. The listing does not describe the 3 bedroom being detached from the home. I had a hard time trying to get the full check in information which I demanded 2 hours prior to check in. Received multiple texts with the instructions and was not put on the VBRO message until 30 minutes prior to check in. I was actually a little concerned this was a scam (but is wasn't), just not professional at all

This stay exceeded our expectations. Host is very communicative, and the property is lovely, charming, clean, and welcoming. Really appreciated the inclusion of bath linens, shampoo/conditioner/body wash and even items like a clothing steamer.
We don’t often get out to San Jose, but we’ll be sure to try to stay here again when we return.

Me and my family are 100% satisfied with the experience after renting this property. The house inside has everything you can possibly need for a short or longer stay. The backyard has been nicely furnished and decorated with a beautiful set of lights perfect to enjoy sometime with family and/or friends during the day or night.
The neighborhood is peaceful. The SAP Center is located literally just a block away from this property and Downtown San Jose is maybe about a mile away with many options to Restaurants!

Quaint and Cozy and Centrally Located
The location worked well as we were in San Jose to visit my niece who is in school at SJS. The property was 5 mins away from the university and centrally located to many tourist attractions, near grocery stores and restaurants. Great little kitchen and manicured back yard. The house is very clean, the towels are plush, the beds inside the house are comfortable and the owner, Gwen, is very responsive. Now here are some things for you to also consider when renting this house: Centrally located also means in a busy, high-traffic area. The location is adjacent to SAP Center and street closures for games/events affect the property. It's also near the airport and in the flight path with planes frequently overhead, but not late at night (thank goodness). Each bedroom has a digital lock with code so we were on alert to keep from locking ourselves out. The indoor bedrooms lack proper closets so if you like to unpack, you can use drawers to get organized. There are only 4 chairs at the dining room table so if your group is more than 4 you can opt to sit outside however the 6-seater patio table is missing a chair so it seats 5. All somewhat minor items for us as perspective is everything. However, I rely on these reviews when deciding to rent so thought I would share. We were glad to be near the University and other attractions and enjoyed our visit.

1 block walk to SAP Center, way more comfortable than a hotel
This property was excellent for us. All amenities. Central to north, south, and Monterey bays. Tucked away in a cul-de-sac a block from SAP center. Nice owner, great property

Surprise Visit!!!
This property was Amazing! It was a Home Sweet Home! It is fully equipped with all your cooking needs. The bedrooms were nicely fixed with comfy beds. The restrooms were stocked with daily needs. Even though we brought our shower needs Gwen also provided Shampoo, Conditioner n body wash. That was really nice of her.
My favorite part of the house was the backyard, we bbq two days. The yard was big enough to run around. We really enjoyed the fire pit at night and made S’mores for the little ones.
This property is minutes away from everything you need. Shopping mall, grocery stores, bars n restaurants. I would say close to downtown San Jose.
If needed to do another family reunion, I would definitely reserve this property over again!!!
Thank You Gwen for your Hospitality!!! 🤗
