Check in and out time was not mentioned at the time of booking also they asked me CAD 100 deposit for room key which was above the listed price. Check in was later emailed me to be at 4 pm and then later during the stay told me check out time 10.00 am. They charged me CAD 10 for leaving at 10.20 am.

The location was good for the area we needed to be in
It was the owners house we stayed in and the two rooms rented were the basement. The owner kept the air conditioner on 24/7 and the basement was freezing. Under the bed was not clean and the shared bathroom could use a refresh, especially all the caulking was yellowed and needs to be redone, Entrance to the back door could have better lighting probably at the front of the driveway going towards the back door. the back door had a light but it did not shine enough light down the pathway towards the door, maybe a motion sensor light
But easy fix for all 3 issues for anyones next stay….cheers

I am writing this in revelance to the exceptional price I paid for this AIRBNB. I was looking for a clean, comfortable, safe place to stay during a week long visit to Guelph and this did not disappoint. I was worried as my hours of arrival and departure were a bit unconventional. I corresponded through emails via Booking.com and the proprietress was extremely efficient. Also worth mentioning was how quiet it was. There is a bus stop right around the corner and a Tim Hortons nearby as well as restaurants. Very pleased and would stay again.
.There was nothing to dislike. Maybe a mirror in my bedroom. Not a big issue.

Good security and the bed softness was comfortable.
Couldn't get in touch with the owner when I arrived. When they called me back they asked if I had $100 cash for a key deposit. Had to go to a bank to get cash out and felt very uncomfortable. Don't understand why there wasn't a key lock box. Wasn't allowed park in the driveway unless I paid $5 even though it was large and had no cars in it. Bed wasn't made and the sheets were a little worn down. Didn't feel like it was very clean so I put a towel over the pillow. There was no soap or equivalent in the shower so luckily I had brought some. The photos are of the main part of the house which are not accessible. Lots of signs up claiming you'll be fined $50 for various things. Wasn't really a welcoming atmosphere. Couldn't wait to get out of there. If I hadn't been too tired the day before I would have just not stayed and drove the rest of the way home.

I liked the room, is very quiet for sleep and for study. The place was clean and comfortable. I liked the bathroom and the living room. For me is very important the shower, and I loved it. The power and temperature of the water were 10/10. The landlord (Lulu) was very helpful when I needed it. She and her mother were very kind and respectful. There are two bus stops very near to the house, and there is a restaurant of delicious Afganian food 10 min walk, so for me it was a good location.

the location was great in a quiet residential area. breakfast was generous. always had some left for snack later in day. Maria was very friendly and accommodated any requests or concerns I had promptly.
the bathroom vanity could have been cleaner. old soap scum in sink and on vanity. However I did find lysol wipes in the kitchenette to clean the sink and vanity.

Quiet location on a residential street, They do charge for parking if you want to use the driveway, but the street parking is ok and there isn't much traffic. Lulu is a sweetheart! I think that she is the point person for the family (who I didn't meet)
Not really unexpected, but I cut my stay short by 3 weeks and when I asked about a reimbursement for the fees I paid in advance I they answered that I needed to contact Booking.com, who in turn only passed on the message from the host that I had received from them by text. - The reservation did say no changes or cancellations without penalties, but I figured if I didnt ask, I wouldn't know

Good air conditioning, good breakfast, good communication with the owner.
Bunk bed, strange bed covers, sharing bathroom, towels and dishes with the other guests and paying for parking. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned every day.

Location was good. Separate entrance. Internet was reliable. Staff was very nice.
Parking cost extra, which was unexpected, but maybe I didn't read the fine print. Bread and peanut butter provided free of charge, and a few fruit cups, but peanut butter had expired Aug 2019 (I stayed there Apr 2021). Bottle of syrup provided expired 2018. Kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge. Could only use 1 appliance at a time for fear of tripping breaker.
Brought in my own bedding, as pillows smelled very musty and old. Comforter was really lumpy and also smelled old and stale. Sheets and towels were bleach stained. Otherwise, it was fine.
