This hotel was the cheapest option in Wick for that night, buy a good margin, so I wasn't expecting it to be great. I was pleasantly surprised, the reception and lounge were quite welcoming after a long day of traveling, and the bedroom was comfortable. The price we paid included breakfast, which was pretty decent.
All good really, as long as you know what to expect from a small town Scottish hotel.

VG Breakfast
Small room and beds
Could not adjust shower, was too hot
Breakfast staff were SO loud shouting to each other and banging cutlery and dishes

Établissement fatigué, personnel moyennement chaleureux, mais tout est propre et parfait pour une étape d’une nuit. J’y passerais pas mes vacances.
Équipement vieillissant et personnel moyennement attentif. Mais ils font leur job sans être désagréable.

Good restaurant and good value for money
High levels of noise and disturbance very early in the morning from coach tours. No attempt to segregate coach tours from other guests.

Good location with parking, breakfast was good, room was clean
A member of staff at breakfast was a little rude as the staff were waiting to eat and it was clear that they wanted us to leave

The restaurant was GREAT!!! Food was delicious. Plus you get a complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning. One of the best meals we had for dinner the entire two weeks we were in Scotland! Also, the Old Wick Castle is just a couple miles down the road, beautiful!!
The beds were a little hard and the pillows were VERY flat, but I found that in all four places we stayed in Scotland, so maybe it's just a Scotland thing. Also, the comforters are a little small on the twin beds.

breakfast was 5/10 lots stuff just a bit greasy
we found by accident that our key opened the room next to ours and then got the man to check his key and his key opened our door . The idea that a persons room is not safe . We went to see the manager and actually got the owner . When I said I had to complain I was told " I don't care if you complain to Rishi Sunak " by the owner . This comment I was surprised but as I'm in a hotel in Scotland but I guess I am English . I was disgusted by this as to have a Hotel were wrong keys open different rooms , meaning potentially women are not safe in the room , I wonder have things gone missing in peoples rooms ??? .

Reception was easy and very pleasant, the room was very good and comfortable. Food was excellent with a good variety of drinks available. Hotel decor was very good, and the staff were very pleasant, polite and accommodating. All in all a lovely experience.
There was very little not to like, except at some point water had flooded the bathroom and the floor tiles had risen with the damp, but this didn’t spoil the overall experience.

I travel with my dogs a lot and was great to see that they were thought about with addition of dog blanket, towel, bowl and treats. Great touch.

We wanted a convenient, dog-friendly and comfortable stop-over en route to Orkney - the hotel gave us all of that, with really friendly and efficient service too. Although all the pet-friendly rooms are on the ground floor, and our two rooms looked out across the car park to the small road and river, it was a super-peaceful night's rest for us all. We also ate at the restaurant and were more than happy with our meals and the service there too.
Not really a problem for us, but some dog-owners might be disappointed that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant area (but there's a separate area for breakfast-with-pets).

We booked 3 double rooms. Friendly face on arrival, rooms were spacious, cosy and clean. The bar and waiting staff were pleasant and friendly. Food was very good served until 8.30pm. breakfast was very good with plenty of variety between cooked and continental. Would definitely stay again.

Travelled for business and normally eat once at the hotel then enjoy trying different restaurants. The food here was so good I never tried anywhere else and ran out of nights to try different meal options. The home made pie, the duck and the steak were excellent. The meat on the Sunday roast on arrival was plentiful.

The atmosphere during the night. The hotel, room and bathroom, looked quite old, but clean! The staff was friendly at the reception and our dog James the Leonberger was more then welcome.
We joked at night about the hotel. There were so many noises: People upstairs shouting at eachother, children screaming, bouncing on the door and stuff like that! It felt like a horror hotel just like in the movies. Haha, so we had fun while not sleeping at all. It was super warm and then cold, so our dog James the Leonberger coudn't sleep either because of the warmth in the room.

Quiet location. Food served until 20.30 the evening we arrived. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Excellent breakfast with range of gluten free cereals. Staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The hotel is a little dated with its decor.
