Very good stay in a great location.

The location was excellent, half a mile to The Thames cycle route to Kingston. The room was spacious and comfortable with a new bathroom.

The noise from the courtyard at 5 a.m. sounded like someone emptying bottles or clearing the tables and dropping the bottles.

Staff very friendly, the room was comfortable and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was good with a good selection of food.

Sadly this hotel has gone down and down in standard. Needs huge upgrade if going to survive.

Location

My room was not that clean… filthy curtains… bathroom door covered with splashes of dirt … the lift wasn’t working and promised on check in repair was imminent … still not repaired next day so all luggage had to be carried up stairs.

A home from home. I used to run the Sheiling Bar as it was then, 40 years ago (🤣). Lovely !

Everything was excellent as always when I stay at the Ship Hotel.

Bar and Barstaff were excellent, only disappointment was it’s meant to be open late for late-night drinks and at the end when we wanted a last beer a lady came down in her Dressing-Gown saying she was the only staff member on duty at that time. Otherwise, it was perfect. 👍

Poor experience from usually an exception hotel put it down to a bad one off experience

The gentleman who ran his heart out trying to serve guests breakfast, working alone with no assistance,he was an absolute star man looked exhausted and heartbroken yet nothing was too much trouble for him I believe he was a assistant manager.

Breakfast lobby was closed used bar area instead without notification and the fact that the gentleman was working alone

Average comfortable and convenient

I liked the location as we were visiting Thorpe park and Chessington 20 minutes if that to each park.

The staff weren’t very talkative or fourth coming however were nice enough if we needed anything.

Hotel as expected.

Staff were friendly, nothing too much trouble. Waiter especially lovely and very hospitable. Comfortable bed and everything we needed in the room, as expected.

Lock on ensuite door was broken and double bed was two beds pushed together, could feel ridge in middle. Food OK but would recommend eating in local restaurants instead.

It is always a comfortable stay at The Ship and very good value for a town centre hotel.

Radiator in room was broken and made a lot of noise early in the morning, waking me up, but it still did not heat up so room was quite cold. Fine when in bed but chilly otherwise.
