It was small comfortable unit with all needed things to stay. There was perfect Backyard, fireplace, barbeque, woods. We liked forest and calm nature of the location. In the night time we made fire outside in firepit and spend good time together. Richard is perfect host!

The place is very quiet. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay:
- a kitchen equipped (oven, microwave, utensils, dishes, sponges, garbage cans to classify the waste, coffee...
- a bathroom with shampoo, shower gel...
- blankets if you are a bit cold
Easy and quick communication. The host welcomed us and took the time to explain everything. Advices for walks, restaurants (not for tourists)...
The apartment is on the lower floor. Independent entrance. No noise around or above. 15-20 minutes from Blue Mountain village.
A very nice family stay for us. THANK YOU
Mattresses were a bit hard for us. However we could sleep correctly.

I liked the layout and the space. It's like an apartment style lodge. The owner Richard had great hospitality. He made sure we had everything we needed.
The only thing my family didn't like was the internet. It was very basic internet which meant my kids could not play on their Ninetendo Switches or if I needed to look something up, it was hard to download a homepage for the blue mountain site for instance. We were very secluded so my data wouldn't work. But being on vacation and out in the country, felt good to disconnect from social media. Perhaps a stronger and faster internet for kids who have devices and want to use at the end of the night? Other than that, that is the only thing my family didn't like.

beautiful location in the country, hiking trails nearby

Our host Richard was very nice and was always giving us advice on different things we can do with our kids like skiing and snowshoeing and visiting Thornbury restaurants as well as blue mountain village. The Lodge was very secluded and a great experience with all the surroundings. Peaceful and relaxing stay.
The shampoo and soap was low however I'm sure if we asked Richard he would of supplied more. We brought our own so we didn't bother asking.

cozy and affordable, fireplace

Large property with beautiful trails to walk around. The kitchen was well equipped and big. The wood burning fireplace was nice.
Check in could have been coordinated better. The queen/double bed sleeping arrangements were a little odd - one of them is in the kitchen and the other is in the dining room.

it was a nice property and good to just crash for the night.
The kids wanted to go for a walk but as the trails have not been kept up and are a bit overgrown I didn’t feel comfortable walking into the bush. if they had proper maintenance around the property it would be a really nice place to stay. There were also a ton of if you do or don’t do this we will charge you $20 signs up, do the dishes, remove your Netflix account, sort the trash. For the price of the room I would have assumed these things wouldn’t matter or that a pre check in email with all the things you were expected to do before you left would have been sent out or listed in the booking. all in all it was ok but I wouldn’t go back.

Great country setting. Staff was super nice and helpful. Suite was pretty clean and they didn't charge extra for our little dogs.
A little far from town. Basement suite needs a little TLC. Beds weren't very comfortable.

Spacious apartment with lots of space in the kitchen. Good bathroom with great shower. Quite clean overall. The host explained lots of things in details (surrounding area, apartment features, etc). Car space right in front of the apartment entrance. Board games provided.
A few spider nets here and there.

Richard is amazing host, helpful, talkative, really systematic. The place is 15-20 min away from Blue Mountain. Still Calm and peaceful. Has agreat rustic feeling with good modern amenities.. especially loved the bath.. Has a great history which shows in the souvenirs collected from all over the world and semi-biography of the lodge since 1975... Highly recommended!
Nothing much really..

The keys were hanging right inside door. The young girl that took us to our room showed us around and was very helpful and pleasant.

Richard is so nice and so helpful. We had a nice stay at the chalet. You have a full lower floor for yourself with plenty of space. It's very calm and cosy.

We were a group of 4 and stayed for 2 nights. Upon arrival (late at night), Richard was waiting and gave us a tour of the unit. The lodge is very rustic and secluded - exactly what I was looking for. The decor also had some nice touches. Inside our unit, there's a ton of blanket and pillows. Beds were really comfy. Great value for the price. Highly recommend!

Richard was very helpful and dedicated to make our stay comfortable. He took the time to go through everything and was very thorough in explaining how things worked in the rooms. The property has been maintained properly with well-equipped kitchen. Our group enjoyed the classic vibe of this place. I will definitely suggest this place to others and will definitely be returning to this lodge.

I liked that it was very natural and the woods were beautiful …Richard was very knowledgeable about the area and very generous with his time to help us feel comfortable….The kitchen was well equipped, the Murphy beds were comfortable. many thoughtful add ons such as the coffee and creamer to get us started….
it was a winter get away for us and we loved getting out to ski and hiking the winter trails…went to local cider houses that had their fire pits up and toasty….
I would suggest for the room with the fireplace to have comfortable chairs to enjoy the fire and conversations….maybe remove the table and swap it out for a low table and easy chairs…not fancy …

In fairness the Owner is very nice.
Lodge is very dirty. Spooky place. A lot of old pictures in the wall. Floor is dirty and squeaky. Smells bad on the carpet. Not feeling safe because there is no lock . Renovation is needed. We only use 1 night on our 3 days trip because we cant take the place anymore.
In fairness the Owner Richard is friendly

I loved it! It's the rustic, authentic look I was going for that agrees totally with the weekend, nature getaway. Mr Richard was very attentive and called us to make sure we settle comfortably. We'll recommend it 100% and even go back. Thank you from the Zebeljan family from Brampton! 🙂
