The Alexandria area feels warm and safe. Very family friendly and lots of great food on Mount Vernon Avenue. We used Uber to travel to and from the DC area.

The Carriage House was fantastic! It was even better than the pictures portrayed! Super clean and in a neat neighborhood, .4 mile walk to metro station. Then a quick 10 minute ride to National Mall on yellow line. Returned on the blue line that took us to Arlington Cemetery and the Pentagon. Just five minute drive from airport! We will stay here again if traveling to DC!! Easy access to everything!

The stylish carriage house was fantastic. Very clean, comfortable and great accommodations. Quiet and great neighborhood for walking and enjoying. Bathroom nicer than hotels and the heated floor was perfect and a nice unexpected finish. Would highly recommend.

Perfect for two, spacious, kitchen with everything you need, comfortable bed and nicely decorated throughout. Patrick has done a great job setting this place up for a very comfortable stay. Really impressed with his great communication. The neighborhood very quiet, plenty of parking, well kept and safe, walking distance to the little downtown area. The apartment has many windows, which is wonderful for light, but also the window treatments provided a nice sleeping environment, which is huge for us! Can't say enough about this place!

I talked my husband into trying this VRBO after i read all the reviews and we were not disappointed. We loved our stay here, it was like home away from home. Booking was easy and Patrick was always there when i had any questions. Check in and check out was trouble-free. The place was very clean, which we much appreciated. Very comfortable, with all the amenities mention on their page. I was even able to use the washer/dryer as we had been traveling a few days before and was down on clean clothes, so that came in very handy. Parking which I was worried at first, turned out to be not an issue, always found a spot out front. We really enjoyed this cottage, we were able to make our oatmeal in the mornings and drink our coffee in comfort. Thanks to Patrick for offering this alternative to a hotel, it made our trip so much nicer.

The carriage house was everything we hoped it would be- sunny, spotless and super comfortable! It is located in a great little neighborhood within walking distance to shops and restaurants. On street parking was easy to find and convenient. I definitely recommend it and we will be staying there again on our next visit to the city.

The apartment is even prettier than it appears in the photos, and it affords privacy in an attractive, quiet and very safe neighborhood populated by friendly families and dog walkers. There are windows on three walls which flood the rooms with natural light and provide plenty of fresh air. I found the bed and sofa to be very comfortable. The location is perfect, with Mt. Vernon Ave a short walk away, where you can enjoy great local shopping, restaurants, coffee and ice cream shops. And, the National Mall and downtown DC are a mere 20 minute drive. One word of caution: the kitchenette is not for cooks-! There is no stove or oven but two hot plates are provided in addition to the microwave. You’ll find basics such as plates, glassware, mugs, flatware, utensils and pots and pans, but no large serving bowls, casserole dishes, mixing bowls, etc. While some rentals have a stock of commonly used spices and other basics, this one provides salt and pepper and a couple bottles of leftover olive oil. Last, there is no dishwasher. So…if you don’t care to do much cooking and don’t mind hand washing your dishes, this is a very cute, clean and comfortable apartment that I recommend very highly!

Perfect location! Quiet, peaceful, walkable neighborhood! Just lovely! Shopping and restaurants three short blocks away in lovely Del Ray. VRBO was immaculate, bright, private, and peaceful. We slept with the windows open most nights, and it was so quiet. We were pleased to have the a/c one particularly warm night! So lovely to spend time in the Del Ray neighborhood and greater Alexandria......so much to do in the immediate area. Wonderful to return to the tranquility of the VRBO and neighborhood after the hustle and bustle of a day in DC. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area!

LOVED staying here!! Location was fantastic and the neighborhood was so fun. Able to walk to restaurants, shops and parks. Was a beautiful carriage house and so relaxing to return there after a long shift at the hospital. Great location and everything I needed was there! Would definitely stay again!

We could not have been happier with our stay. Located in close proximity to our new grandson, the space had everything we needed including a comfortable bed. My only suggestion would be that the listing be updated to show that it includes a hairdryer. We expect to be back frequently and will definitely book if it’s available.

The whole experience with this stay was amazing. The neighborhood was quiet and reasonably close to retail/grocery stores, coffee, and restaurants. The property listing and description were accurate, and checking in and out was very simple. I, personally, have to rave about the bathroom. Heated floor? Check! Deep bathtub? Check! Great lighting? Check! Lastly, Patrick was a great host by communicating with us before we arrived and the day we checked out to make sure we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again myself.

This listing is everything that has already been said by others, and more. You're basically staying in a high-end suite with kitchenette, except you're in a one-room hotel. Which means that you don't have to worry about anybody else! Nobody is running up and down the halls, or blaring the TV in the next room, or doing any of the other annoying things that I hate so much about hotels. In other words - it's paradise. Street parking is easy. I had a spot right across from the property EVERY time I left and came back. The bed is supremely comfortable, which is often the downfall of most places. Unless I was totally imagining it, the bathroom floor is heated - which is a VERY nice feature when getting out of the shower. Anyway, for the price and location, nothing else will come close. Enjoy!

We were so happy with this rental! It was walking distance to great restaurants and shops. The neighborhood was quiet and we never experienced any issues with street parking. Although we were only staying a short time and didn’t use them, they had a washer/dryer, hot plates, and Small appliances. The host thought of everything to make our stay pleasant. He was also very accommodating to our needs and communicative. There were trash bags, soap, cleaning supplies, dishwasher and laundry pods. There was even coffee with powdered creamer there, which was so appreciated! Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for a great stay!

I loved using this place for a home base while I traveled throughout Alexandria and to DC. Public transportation is easy and many places are accessible through walking. The ease of entry without bothering someone as well as the private space were perfect for me. The air conditioning and ceiling fan made it comfortable in the summer heat and humidity. There is a great washer/dryer so I didn't have to do laundry when I got home. Communication with the owner was easy and quick. I would stay here again without hesitation.

I enjoyed a peaceful stay looking out at the treetops in the carriage house. Kitchen is well supplied, entire space is well designed and comfortable. Space is designed for 1-2 adults. Short walk to Mt Vernon Ave. in DelRay with great restaurants and street scene. Quiet street, slept great, comfortable bed.

Great location for visiting nation's capitol. Very clean lodging that is close in proximity to the district yet surrounded by attractive neighborhood where walking your dog seems a favorite past time. Close to shopping and restaurants as well as affordably priced.

This place is a gem. My hubby and I walked inside and felt immediately at home. Light, bright and beautifully designed made our stay that much better. You can’t beat the location. So close to shopping, dining and many destinations which makes everything very convenient. Would not hesitate to stay again if the need arises.
