About this house rental
Welcome to our brightly lit suite, located only a five minute drive from downtown Sidney, that will become your new home away from home. In our 480 square foot space, you'll enjoy luxurious bath robes, a unique palette wall in the bedroom and a view of the garden out the back window. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with anything you may need for any length of stay. You can curl up in front of the fireplace on the beautiful leather couch to watch a movie on the 55-inch smart TV. The bathroom is equipped with any extra toiletries you may need, along with a spacious bathtub for ultimate relaxation. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed with new, cozy linens. The black out blinds will allow you to sleep in as long as you'd like, even after the sun comes up. There is a private entrance and a path leading straight up to the suite. A short, 10 minute walk down the road you will find yourself at a beautiful beach called Roberts Bay, which is a migratory bird sanctuary. You can spot lots of wildlife and on a clear day, there's a wonderful view of Mount Baker. Only a 5 minute drive to downtown Sidney, or a 25 minute walk, you can find many delicious places to eat, small-town shops and different water activities such as kayak rental or whale watching. There is a bus stop located a 2 minute walk down the road that can bring you to many different places, including Sidney or Victoria. We are surrounded by many beautiful hikes and walks, beaches, and lots of other places to explore. We live in the upstairs so we are always available for any questions or concerns you may have. If there is anything you may need, please don't hesitate to ask!

Peter and Julie were wonderful hosts, and their vrbo was just right for us. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Good location in a quiet neighborhood. They were warm and gracious people, who felt like old friends!

Very clean, accessible with grab bars, out front parking, quiet location yet accessible to the highway, within walking distance of town but also had bus access. I would stay here again.

We booked thinking it might be a little small for us but it was fine for two people. My wife who is shorter found the counter heights to be a little bit high for her. The microwave on top of the fridge was a no go for her. I was able to use it with no issues. Everything worked great. It was situated within 5 minutes travel to the things we wanted to do. Very easy access to the BC Ferry terminal at Swartz Bay.

We had a very nice stay at this suite. The wine was welcoming and the fireplace cozy. This area has easy access to the highway for further forays and downtown Sidney with wonderful walks to the beach at Robert's Bay and surrounding marinas. Our hosts were very accessible and very friendly. What more could one ask for when traveling.

We had come to Sidney for my high school reunion. Parklands turned 50! The best thing, for me, was the location of this rental. It was in my old neighbourhood (which changed so much!) and made me feel like I was home. This was the nicest, cleanest place we have stayed in years. So homey and wonderful atmosphere. The welcoming bottle of wine was a nice surprise. Pete was available if we needed anything and immediately replaced the microwave when it stopped working. If I could give 10 stars, I would. 110% recommended! Thank you.

This place is beautiful,clean and in nice quiet neighbourhood. The owners are very friendly to the point of having a nice bottle of wine and coffee beans waiting for you. The fireplace in the living room is nice touch. They even have robes for you to wear. The towels are nice and thick and the bathtub is deep if you are inclined to take a bath.The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The room darkening blinds are definite plus. The location is great its only a 5 min. drive to restaurant area and about 10 min. to the airport. If you are walking there is a bus stop just up the street.

Recently renovated basement suite with modern quality finishes. Quiet location. Kitchen was well provisioned. Peter and Julie were friendly helpful hosts. Fresh flowers and welcoming gift on arrival was a nice touch. Overall a very good experience.

Words cannot express how impressed we were with this suite and with Pete and Julie. Right from the beginning when we booked this location Pete was very attentive to our inquires and questions. Pete was so very accommodating, he even picked us up from the airport. Upon arrival at the suite there was a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting to welcome us!!! We didn’t want the extra expense of a car rental, so Pete made sure we had access to bikes and helmets during our stay. The area has lots of trails and bike lanes that makes it super easy to get around. The suite is so very clean and super quiet! Pete checked in on us a couple days into our stay to introduce his lovely wife Julie and they even brought us delicious carrots from their garden. The Thursday night market in Sidney is a must! Our visit was peaceful, pleasant and perfect. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit the island.

We were in town for 3 weeks to have some work done on our boat at Philbrooks Boatyard. This location was PERFECT since it was easy to walk into downtown Sidney as well as walk to the boatyard each day to do work on the boat. We could walk to the grocery store, takeout pizza and the suite is 2 blocks from the entrance to a paved walking trail that goes into Sidney. The suite is SO clean, stocked with everything you could need from shampoo/conditioner to a very well kitted out kitchen. Each day I made a morning smoothie in a great blender, ground my coffee beans for coffee and we were able to make cookies and other home cooked meals. The bed is heavenly to sleep on, and the Peter and Julie were absolutely the best hosts. They were able to provide us with anything we needed. The yard is immaculate and so lush, lovely to look out onto each morning. We felt a little sad to leave as it had become our home away from home. We'll definitely come back any time we haul out to have boat work done, or really any time coming to Sidney.

Great little flat, all amenities and so much more. It like a brand new home. The hosts really put a lot of thought and energy into making this a cozy and comfortable space. Location great for walking and close to cycling path. We would recommend this place to our family and friends!

Great place, to stay. Had Christmas decorations up. It had everything you needed all you need to bring is clothes and food. Dogs felt at home and so do we. Great place.

This is our 2nd stay at this place. We are so comfortable in the unit - I loved the fact that I can cook and have everything I need, including herbs and spices! We also love being able to walk to the ocean and downtown if we desire. The owners live upstairs so are there if we have any questions, but they are not intrusive. Thanks so much!

From the initial contact, communication was timely and clear. The unit was clean and well-appointed. Kitchen was stocked with dry goods and multiple appliances.
Fresh flowers, a welcome card, and a delicious chilled bottle of Dirty Laundry Sauvignon Blanc greeted us.
The location is superb for bikes and cars. All amenities are close by.

This property was extremely clean and furnished with everything you would need for a vacation, including kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, towels, shampoo, soap, hair dryer, and coffee and tea to enjoy. Peter and Julie made us feel so at home. Their kindness was appreciated and their thoughtfulness to meet our needs went above and beyond what we expected. There was a Smart TV with streaming platforms as well as WiFi to use. The welcome binder was very useful to help us navigate our way around Sidney. The neighbourhood felt very safe and it was a 30 minute walk into town. There is a bus stop about two minutes from the house, which was very convenient as we did not have a vehicle. We can't say enough about how friendly Peter and Julie were and how lovely their yards were. My sister and I had an amazing time and would most definitely rent Peter and Julie's place again!

Truly a home away from home
I can't say enough good things about this property and its owners, Pete and Julie. Every interaction from the first was filled with kindness.
I'm not sure where to start - from their willingness to purchase hypoallergenic laundry products to their flexibility with my reservation when my father-in-law went on hospice. I truly felt cared for, which has not been my experience with most home sharing experiences.
And that was before I arrived to the unit.
It's beautiful. Modern, well layout out, with thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and welcome gift (which they asked my preference about...so thoughtful!). There's coffee, spices, oil, tea, and everything you need for making meals--even a slow cooker! I didn't spy a food processor or blender which didn't matter to me but flagging it for other intrepid cooks who might want to do a home stay.
The bed was so comfy (omgosh those PILLOWS!). The bathroom was also stocked - you could literally arrive here with just clothes and any medications you need and live well for a week! The bathroom is a little narrow so if you live in a larger body like mine, keep that in mind (though the space around the toilet is ample).
Having lived in NYC for a decade, the overall unit didn't feel small at all to me...and having my own laundry for the first time since I lived at home was GLORIOUS! And, there was more natural light than I would have thought for a basement unit-yes!
Pete and Julie introduced themselves and checked in via text to make sure everything was ok. I knew they were there if I needed them, though their welcome guide was so detailed and easy to skim that I didn't have any Qs.
Oh and I can't finish this review without talking about the fireplace!
Don't worry, you don't need any skill. Its controlled by the thermostat and added such warmth and homeyness, especially on the cold and rainy days.
The absolutely only thing I would improve upon is to add a power strip or similar to the bedroom. I didn't ask for one—it wasn't *that* big of a deal but if I were travelling with my partner, I would have definitely asked for something.
I am already planning my next visit to this gorgeous, homey, and so very stocked unit! I teared up a little leaving because it was such a peaceful space for me to begin my trip. It has set a new bar for home shares and I can't say thank you enough!

Restful, convenient, clean.
This was a very clean and new suite. Everything you needed and more with a convenient location to Sidney, Victoria and surrounding areas. We spent a month here enjoying the friendliness of the hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay excellent. The suite has everything you need. Good parking 5 minutes from the centre of Sidney and 25 minutes from downtown Victoria. The beach is a 10 minute walk away. Everything was like a home away from home. We will be back. Highly recommended.

Comfortable, Homey place
We can’t say enough for how much we enjoyed our stay. Our hosts provided lovely flowers and a welcome bottle of wine for us plus special treats for our dog! We’ve never had such a well stocked kitchen plus basic pantry items. Since we cooked a lot of our own meals, this was greatly appreciated! The property is in a quiet neighborhood and easily accessible to all Sidney and Victoria attractions or outdoor activities. We highly recommend this property.
