Cleaning is a question mark ❓

The communication between the Host(s) and us from beginning to end was fantastic. They responded quickly and were very clear. We were given an explanation of the keys first hand - no simple hand off - a detailed explanation as there were several keys. The apartment was clean and prepared for our stay. The location is EXCELLENT! Close to shopping and restaurants and in a very safe area. BONUS; free underground parking !! The hosts made sure we had everything we needed for our complete stay (towels, coffee, water, air conditioning, internet, hair dryer, iron etc.) Every amenity we could ask for was provided. Shower had HOT water at all times and good pressure. Huge outdoor terrace to enjoy the evenings. Really quiet at night. Overall AMAZING place to stay.
Nothing we didn't like - this is an amazing find in Santo Domingo and we will be staying again and again.

The location was good, I liked the outside deck upstairs because it was private. It was safe, quiet and secure. The host was great, he provided everything as described.
The bathroom and kitchen were very small. But, the living room. And bedroom has space.

it has a nice terrace, it’s a cozy studio
I saw big cockroach every day in the kitchen and living room.
they said is almost normal in Santo Domingo but I never seen them before in other places i stayed.

of the apartment the balcony I liked the most is the private balcony. The value and price of the apartment did not meet expectations and the apartment was too small for that asking price a night at stay. Not rooming enough to enjoy and not comfy enough too small
Size of the rooms and the apartment other than the balcony which a lot of room and space which I had to use to be comfortable to sleep at night. Because the was nice looking but it was too low for a person with a bad back to bend to lay down and roll over to get up off the bad.

My first impressions of the accommodation were the great WiFi (located on a sheet of paper on the refrigerator), AC, space, patio, and kitchenette. The kitchen was equipped with pots, pans, utensils for eating and cooking, glasses, wine glasses, and a complementary bottle of alcoholic Spanish cider. We also liked the plentiful towels, housekeeper Batista, and the concierge(s) were overall friendly. A nice feature was being able to use the garage as a private entrance to the building. Moreover, I cannot ignore the fact that the location was superb! I couldn't hear the neighbors (in the building). La Sirena (grocery store) and many restaurants and shops are literally within 5 minutes-give or take as well.
A few tips that may come in handy are:
-Americans, bring US DOLLARS to pay upon arrival. There's an agente de cambio (currency exchange) nearby.
-Uber is SUPER cheap. Be careful, some driver tried to get cash from us.
-Take bus trips as well: TareaBus and Expreso Bavaro
-My fellow Americans: If you can't make it to a clinic for a COVID-19 test ($1,750DOP / $30USD~) before heading to the SDQ/Las Americas airport, they have a 24hr clinic upstairs to the far left above the level where the baggage check-in lines are. Make sure your test is WITHIN 24hrs of your flight as it is a new travel policy for reentry into the United States.
-Ladies, if you need sanitary items, La Sirena has some. However, their tampon selection is scarce and small sized. Pads in Spanish here are *toallas* {toe-eye-as}
-For low carb diets, many grocery stores have almond flour, sweetener, sugar free (sin azucar) products, and the like. Also, the restaurant GreenBowl has a Keto salad!
-If you like Korean food, there is a Korean Mart within 5 minutes walking distance. The Korean restaurant nearby had bad service (Dominican female server pointed us to a table instead of walking us to it and took forever to come take our order), so we left. Dining elsewhere was fine.
There was some miscommunication with the host. My flight landed around 3am, and the time I said for my arrival to the apartment got confused. I tried to contact the host after failing to enter the building, but to no avail. There was no one to let us in for about an hour. He later apologized and explained that he was out of the country and had no service at the time. He also did make sure someone came, even though it wasn't the time I anticipated. The concierges don't speak English which made check-in and handling the payment frustrating for me despite the fact that I speak Spanish; I'm just not 100% used to the Dominican dialect. Fortunately, my husband is a native and he was able to aide my linguistic challenges. The night of the arrival, the concierge was an older man and ignored me when we couldn't understand each other. He said to my husband, "She doesn't speak Spanish?" The other concierge was a bit younger and he was nicer and more patient. More about the overall experience, I wish there was an option to pay online as I'm not comfortable carrying so much cash. Not to mention, language barriers make transactions even more challenging.
About the apartment itself: The linen and towels didn't smell freshly washed, and some of the appliances were not the cleanest. However, the bathroom was very clean. There were also some ants on the kitchen floor and counter. If you don't like wildlife, there were little lizards that made their way into the apartment. They were harmless and hid. Luckily, my husband I were able to catch them and take them outside. A touch that would be nice is if there was a laundry service available. Also, it would be nice if guests could dispose of our own trash since it builds up during long stays. Overall, my husband and I had a great time and we would definitely return sin duda.

Very relaxing atmosphere, bed is comfortable, and the host was very helpful. I would stay again.
Cooking was a little difficult due the position of the burners and bathroom sink is a bit small.

The place is very centric in the city of Santo Domingo, there are lots of restaurants, malls, stores, supermarkets and transportation near by. The apartment is completely equipped with essential things for a comfortable stay and the host is always kind with the guests and available to make the staying at the apartment a nice one.
I stayed for almost a week and I don't have any complain about it. I had a great experience with the apartment and host.

The host is super sweet and thoughtful. Extra attention to details and our needs. The space is comfy and has everything you need to spend a couple of days in the city. It has a massive terrace with a beautiful skyline view. Great location close to shops and amenities. FYI the kitchen might be to small for longer stays.
