Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (25-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. So much to do and see right in town. We have a handy Welcome Book in the house full of Places to Eat, Things to Do, Shopping, Hiking and Waterfall Trails. Wineries abound; they’re everywhere! Or head over to Helen for tubing or zip lining.
There are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... The fellas will help you out! All kinds of water toys too like jet skis, standup paddle boards and kayaks.

We had a great time here! 3 families spread around the southeast who get together once a year. This place had plenty of space for our group, including a perfect size kitchen for feeding 13. Lots of activities around the area and a gracious host! thank you!

Our family celebrated an early mountain Christmas at this location and everything was perfect. This home had so many bonus features to entertain our group from the youngest to the oldest. Our young adult cousins loved the secret room only accessible by the elevator. Enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit. Family time around the big kitchen island. The balcony view from both levels was amazing. The communication with the host was the BEST! She went above and beyond to meet all my request even putting up a Christmas tree for our enjoyment! Planning to go back in 2023

We could not have been more pleased with the home. It was very spacious and comfortable. Great location. I would advise those who might plan to put young children up in the bunk room, that it is only accessible by elevator. There is an escape ladder. Small children cannot operate the elevator. There should be an adult with them if staying up there. It is perfect for teenagers to bunk together. I would suggest that a small travel fan is good to have in the bunk room as there is no ceiling fan.
We had a blast. Living areas are large and comfy and the view is to die for. Kitchen is outfitted well. Would be a great house for 4-5 couples to share.

Great family vacation home
Property was great for a large family group!

Spacious house
This house is absolutely beautiful. Plenty of space for everyone. Pictures do not do justice, there is a fire pit, but you have to purchase your own wood. The game room downstairs is huge.
The only thing that we did not like is, in order to go upstairs to the kids room you have to utilize the elevator, since we had smaller children we had to arrange for a grown up to sleep upstairs.
Overall it was a great experience, and will look to rent your home again. Thank you for hosting us.

Breath taking view
Had a wonderful time with family. Pictures do no do justice. There is a huge game room downstairs and a movie room. Absolutely beautiful.
We had a wonderful time making s'mores and building a fire. In addition we rolled down the hill and sat on the back deck and watched the clouds roll by.
Will definitely come back next spring break.

Perfect Place to Relax With Friends
We are a group of 5 couples who take an annual trip at Valentines Day. This year we chose this beautiful home at Lake Chatuge and we recommend it highly! The view is magnificent and the house is very well furnished and very comfortable. We all had plenty of room to spread out, relax and enjoy great fellowship and great meals. The kitchen is very well equipped with ample dishes, utensils, cookware and made cooking for a large group very enjoyable. The table seats 10 so it was perfect for us. There are hiking trails nearby and also an assortment of shops and restaurants. The house has a great game room and we enjoyed ping pong and playing board games too. This happened to be Super Bowl weekend as well, so the downstairs kitchen and family room were ideal for watching the big game! Don’t hesitate to rent this incredible home - you won’t regret it.
Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Christmas with my 4 kids, their spouses. And three grandchildren
It was the cleanest and most well-equipped VRBO we have ever visited. Luxurious towels, comfy sheets, tons of blankets and comforters available. The kitchen was crazy well-stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc. the views were glorious and the house is full of substantial and nice furniture.
It was a truly magical Christmas!!

Nearly perfect in every way!
We celebrated Thanksgiving at the house with 3 families coming together from NC, SC and TX.
The house was extremely clean and well stocked with every kitchen item you’d need. A huge pantry to store food and extra large refrigerator. Having the downstairs kitchen unit was also a plus although we didn’t even need it with all of the upstairs room.
The views were amazing from. The porch or bedrooms facing the lake. We even used the fire pit and made s’mores. Overall this was a fantastic house snd while there we found ourselves saying we will come back with friends in the summertime.
You can’t go wrong renting this home to spend your next vacation. Immaculate condition, well appointed & great amenities all made this a perfect Vrbo experience!

Comfort, Luxury and Suprises
We had a terrific time. Members of our family (15 in total) from across the country gathered together for a wedding. There were aspects of the home that the pictures just did not capture; in particular were the spectacular view, and the luxuriousness of the accommodations. When we first arrived we couldn't find the "last" bedroom with six beds--no staircase inside or out, etc. But we finally found a door with buttons next to it...an elavator to a "secret" room! The family that stayed up there will be talking about it for years to come, I'm sure. There were plenty of everything for everyone (pillows, plates, silverware, cups, mugs, fridge space, pantry space, parking space and more), and we really appreciated that the owners hadn't cleaned out all the spices and non-perishables like that (which is often the case to our frustration). So many special features of this home just put it all above and beyond, like the fire pit, the many balconies, the giant window, the automatic fireplace (that heated the room quickly) and so much more. We would gladly stay there again, and we made many memories together for years to come! Thanks!

Family's Annual Labor Day Vacation
The Young Harris house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. There was an abundance of towels and bedding available and the kitchen was very well equipped. Our group ranged from 3 to 89 years old and we found plenty to do in the area for recreation. The house exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend it for large groups.

Wonderful Home
Our family very much enjoyed our stay. The home was warm and inviting, and allowed our family to spread out, but gather and play games. We highly recommend this home.

BEAUTIFUL
The property is very beautiful and large enough that we weren’t stepping on each other’s toes! We had a wonderful time, sitting on the main floor porch and watching boats come and go! Of course the kids were enamored by the elevator and we had to make rules immediately that it was not a toy! I think all the girls enjoyed staying together, yet each had separate beds! We had a very pleasant time and the kids and adults alike had a blast at the offererings around us! It was fabulous!

Very nice and clean property with awesome views of Lake Chatuge and the Smoky mountains.

Beautiful home and fantastic views!
We stayed here with 3 families - 3 couples, 1 single, two 15 year olds and one 5 year-old. PLENTY of room for everyone and extra room to spare. The views from the decks were spectacular, the kids loved chasing fireflies in the back yard. We spent a day on the lake, a day at Splash Island, a day whitewater rafting, a day sightseeing from Brasstown Bald and Ball Mountains, and a few days just relaxing. Enrico’s Italian Restaurant in Young Harris is a must for dinner - make a reservation - great family-owned restaurant. Lots to do and see, but this home made us all feel spoiled.
